- DiY = Do it Yourself ...
Someone from family bought a new 2022 Mazda CX-30 GT Turbo AWD. The car has now 5.000 km and the owner decided it is the time to replace the engine oil and his filter.
If I do this home, I save around $20-30 ... and some time because if I go to a garage, I have to make an appointment, to go there, come back ... bla-bla ...
Here you can see how to proceed ...
Thanks for watching !
Good roads to have, i wish you !
God bless you !
Enjoy !
Nice ! I have a 2021 Mazda 6 with the same engine and I also change my own oil at home. What country do you live in ? I live in the US and my Mazda dealer as well as several other local Mazda dealers I called have been using Mobile 1 synthetic so that’s what I use to do the oil changes on my car. The only Mazda branded oil they had at the dealer was conventional.
Hi ! Thanks for your comment!
Mobil1 is a very good oil. I hear 👂 Toyota brand oil is Mobil1 … maybe Mazda too !
We are in “French” 🇨🇦 … Province of Quebec…
Change your oil at max 10.000 km / 6.000 miles and your engine will run long time!
Good roads to have I wish you! 😎🙏🏻
@@mipmixchannel I have been to Montreal before. Beautiful city. ✌️
@@Matys1975 indeed…🙏🏻👍🏻
I just traded my 2015 Mazda 6 with 144,000 miles in for a new CX30. I ran Castrol Edge 0W-20 full synthetic the entire time I had it. Won't use anything else.
@@mhepping me neither ... only fully synthetic ... the owner of the Mazda, too, only synthetic oil, max 10.000 km / 6.000 miles ...
Actually u need 5.3 liters
Funny you mention that. I changed my oil twice and per Mazda it states (4.8 liters) 5.1 quarts with filter change. Both time 5 quarts only puts it 1/3 to 1/2 between the holes on dipstick. 5.5 quarts brings it to the top. BTW, I am using Mobil 1 5w-30 EP with a Mobil 1 M-208A filter which is what Mobil 1 suggests on their website.
That is the wrong filter for the Turbo engine. That is not a high flow oil filter. you need to get 1WPY-14-302. The holes are much larger allowing more oil flow to the engine and turbo. you can feel the difference.
Hi! Thanks for your comment!
That car is not mine. The owner bought the oil filter from a Mazda dealer.
I’ll let him know and next time probably will be replaced with the one you suggested.
We’re going to make a “test” and I’ll let you know about our impressions about that.
Thanks 🙏🏻 again and good roads to have I wish you!
That is not accurate. PY8W-14-302 is absolutely a correct filter for the 2.5T. It's what comes installed from the factory. They are hard to find in the US now though. 1WPY-14-302 superseded PY8W-14-302 in the US market and is made by Denso in Thailand. There is also PY8W-14-302-MV which is made in Mexico and while it's technically a fit it should be avoided due to quality issues.
