Just realized I had two duplicate clips in here somehow. My apologies. I was working through pain and not concentrating super well. Stinking Gout flare up was very painful.
Awesome truck. Seems durable as a brick. What about that chassis slap on the bigger jumps though? Does the truck need stiffer shocks or just heavier oil in the stock shocks?
If you buy one of these you should try to never use the self-right feature. I wouldn’t even try it out because it’s terrible on the gears and the walk of shame is good for you anyway. Great truck and they can last a long time on the stock setup if you take care of it.
I had a badass v1 widemaxx it had a bunch of aluminum upgrades from vitavon almost everything they made for the maxx had the widemaxx kit steel cvd’s and a castle 6s system like 4 sets of wheels and tires and I sold it like a idiot. I’m gonna get me one of the v2s the upgrades will be minimal maybe a servo and a castle mamba monster x and keep the rest stock.
It's more durable, but the Xmaxx is just more fun for me personally. I have both. The Xmaxx is so much bigger, that you can't even compare them TBH. My 1/5 electronics Xmaxx jumps higher and further than the Maxx for sure. And it's faster too 😁
@@earlmoorhead5555 Yeah bud. Even on grass clippings at the park, the smaller rigs struggle. The Xmaxx Outcast 8s and EXB K8S just plow through that stuff like it's not there 🤣👍

Cool video. The new Maxx looks pretty sweet! I’ve been thinking about getting a new servo for my TRX4. I have been looking at the Reefs 444 and Reefs 442. Which one do you think is better? Or do you recommend a different brand?
Reefs make a awesome servo but honestly I prefer the reefs raw 500 it’s a beast of a servo I have 4 of them never had any problems with any of them even ran one on my ryft for 6 months with no servo saver got one on my kraton 6s exb and one on my losi db pro and 2 in 2 of my krawlers. I really like the reefs raw 500 and Holmes hobbies shv800 and shv500 that’s about all I run bc both has been so reliable.
Maxx w/WideMaxx looks like a great choice for the money. New car with new parts. This thing is 720usd where i live. All yt channels say the same thing, great truck and rarely breaks. Then you have the Slash Ultimate around the same price. E-Revo 8S a bit higher. XRT, Sledge and X-Maxx is beyond 1000usd mark, without battery and chrgr. This maxx looks great, not to far off the ground. Toughen up parts. TSM, self-rightning. and TQi bt optional. Toss in an EZ iD Dual charger and some batteries, you're looking at a 1250usd for the complete package. Yes, still steep but considering the big flagships is even More expensive before batt anc chrgr, its not that bad. And the Maxx looks sick with the widemaxx kit.
I have some expensive 4s lipos that cost around the same as that Traxxas lipo, but they are way bigger and have more C rating, so I don't buy Traxxas batteries or chargers. They are just too expensive. Spectrum batteries and chargers are also too expensive. I just buy aftermarket batteries that fit. My Youandme 4s battery fit well in the Maxx 4s V2. That battery was like $50. Anyways, I'm sure you will like the V2 Maxx better. I know I already like my V2 more than the v1 👍
Right on. I like the simplicity of the Spektrum batteries. Decided to try the Traxxas. C ratings are gimmicky and all over the board on accuracy. I feel like Traxxas knows what their batteries need to output to power their ESCs and motors...but on paper their numbers don't look as good. But they are definitely more expensive.
@@CCxRC BTW, after upgrading to the Traxxas aluminum hubs, and driveshafts, I was busting bulkheads like crazy. So I got rid of my V2 Maxx for that reason.
Awesome vid! the truck is impressive.. Im looking at getting a monster truck for back yard bashing but at that price point Im stuck comparing it to the LMT and 6s Arrma's.. Not sure what to go for..
The LMT is the most fun to drive but also the most fragile. Mine breaks every other run. Id suggests going with a Maxx. 6S Arrmas are good too, they handle better than the Maxx, but theyre not as tough.
Traxxas is killing it. Always have been! Now all they need is a SMT. I’ve said it a lot but man If they put the same amount of R&d into a smt as they did with the udr it would be amazing
@@ckale5816 the Bigfoot is just a stampede can’t compare it to smt or lmt. They nailed the realism with the udr. They would make a killer scale solid axle monster truck
I understand exactly what the Bigfoot is, but in reality that was their shot at what's turned into the solid axle monster truck and they didn't take the shot. Basically I'm saying the same thing you are, their attempt at a monster truck is nothing compared to other companies.

What is the actual Traxxas X with wide kit already named ? I looked it up, and dont see the new X Maxx with extended arms ? Is this the 999.00 one with extended arms included
They don’t sell the X-maxx with wide installed. They sell the upgrade kit for those who want it wide. Stability wasn’t a huge issue out of the box with the X-maxx like it was with Maxx.
Man, I don't expect a reply for obvious reasons, But I feel by the looks of your area that you are a Virginia man, or at least east coast, keep on sending them trucks!!!
Can i used lipo 4s 14.8v with 100c in original Esc and motor? The doubt is the 100c of the battery causes problems? or should i used original 50c batteries?
That’s unfortunate. Might have to rebind them. You should be able to reach a driver through the receiver box and push the bind button on the receiver as you turn on the car. Then you have to bind the radio to it. Don’t remember if Traxxas has a button on their radio or not. A quick google should find the process for you.
Is it good enough to be nearly double the cost of a Big Rock which I know you love? We get hammered in the UK on Traxxas pricing and while this looks great, we pay nearly $800 for this truck!
Even in Canada these are $829 & just preorders for now😞. Only saving grace for me is that I already have 2 of the 6700 batteries & charger for my XMaxx.
Tough call in my opinion. Now don't get me wrong!! With the right person at the controls? THIS is an awesome upgrade. But if you are one of those A arm hookers. lol This could be a big pain in the A$$ lmao... But when you have wide open spaces like Tony's Yard.. It's perfect. And you drove it beautifully brother. I agree with you on the Traxxas controllers as well. Pretty darn good except for the Wheel placement, makes it a little difficult for us ONE-HANDED drivers. Eh Tony?? lol But a 3d printed Thumb attachment does wonders.. ;) Cool video bud. Thumbs uip
I need to print one of those thumb attachments. The throttle pull on this is also longer...so that's also hard one handed. But I'm digging this thing a lot
