Thanks for sharing! They love wood! & Stick to wood! When it got bad years ago. I had to keep a broom in the car to swish around them. So they would move away. When they get in full season. Don’t be surprised to see them covering an older front door trim or a front door. If I use hornet & bee spray around my wooden front door & trim, whenever I leave out. They definitely don’t like that smell. They’ll stay away. Unfortunately, I have asthma and hate that smell too! 😂 People need to check for any exposed wood even in the cracks of any trim on their home. This year I am sealing my older front door’s cracks with caulking spray that has a skinny straw to spray directly in tight spaces. I purchased it from Home Depot &/or using flex seal spray. So, there will no cracks exposed before I repaint door. & I am keeping my storm door closed.
Yes, this season in chicago and suburbs. Branches are falling of, damaged. Shrubs also. They have 13 or 17 year cycle, when they emerge and devour my trees. It’s fascinating but also bring my displeasure to have them
@@barb8664 But multiples news outlets made it sound like it'd be nation wide.. I'm sorry to hear they're getting you guys, but I'm not that far from you and there's nothing.
Only the ignorant would want to “protect” their trees from cicadas. They are your environment- leave them alone and enjoy nature!
3 years later, they eating my young trees😢 help! If they party, I will give them a beer case to go away😂
