Hey, mind me asking: do you tell Unreal/Fab to allow your content as free for promotions or is that part of the agreement when you make something for the marketplace? If it's the latter, how do you feel about that? Also, thanks for the hard work! I snag everything I can when it's free and as someone who has made outlines in a game before I'll be happy to try to use your system next time to save time.
I've looked up what the personal license means. "Buyers must choose the appropriate price tier, based on their revenue in the last 12 months, as follows: Personal: For buyers who have not generated more than $100,000 USD in gross revenue from commercial activity in the last 12 months. Professional: For buyers who have generated more than $100,000 USD in gross revenue from commercial activity in the last 12 months." Unless your game became the next big thing, I don't think you have to worry if you use the free-for-the-month stuff.
Nice vid Matt. I have to say, I appreciate Epic providing such an awesome Engine for us to use and the free assets each month. They could easily charge a monthly fee, so thank you Epic. That being said, bring back the Marketplace. We had the question section and a better review system. It looked much better also. I did prefer seeing what each free asset was worth also. Why did they make the change? There has to be a good reason. Interesting though, I did manage to see the old version Marketplace on one of my purchased assets. Must be a glitch somewhere. Hopefully it returns soon. My fave asset is the Airport also. Those animals aren't realistic enough sadly. We can't complain too much though. They're free! 😅
Thanks for the video, I wasn't aware they'd switched to two drops per month! Also a note on the personal/professional license, if you click the drop-down for selecting a license the professional license may also be free. I claimed two assets without changing the license, and when I went back on the asset I was able to select professional from the drop-down and it was free too, so I was able to claim that license. Unsure if all free assets will have this option, but worth knowing that you may be able to claim professional licenses for free, you'll just need to manually select them.
The 100K limit is entirely reasonable. As for the "once per month vs twice per month" I guess that entirely depends on if we're getting more or less. It kinda feels like this is an intentional "make it easier to miss free stuff" move... but if there's a reliable source reminding you then it isn't a big deal (i.e, you, in this case). If we're getting more than 5 per month, then I'll consider it an upgrade. Also, Matt, I got a video recommendation off of this that you can claim all the quixel megascans for free on Fab right now until the end of the year. (And that they won't be free after that.) If you haven't notified people on this already, maybe you should. There's a big claim all megascans button on the Fab site right now. I'm pretty sure these are all the old scans...?
The license for the free items here is good. They are actually free. Unless I'm misstaken, you can use them for more than personal use if you so desire. I hope FAB actually keep giving you assets in the future too, as opposed to letting you use them for free under certain conditions. It could get a bit confusing otherwise. Let's hope it's not just this one time.
The personal license is for developers who have not generated more than $100,000 USD in gross revenue from commercial activity in the last 12 months. If you end up earning over that, you can simply just buy the professional license and be fine. TLDR you can use the personal license in commercial projects if you earn less than $100,000 USD in gross revenue per year as a developer.
These three have the standard license though. For some items you can choose between free for personal and $2,- ore something for standard license. I would prefer free for the month, but it's free, so I'm not complaining!
What difference do the Personal and Professional licenses make regarding indie/solo developers? If a solo dev made a hunting game utilizing the Personal licensee for the Forest Animals they acquire this month, and the game goes on to make a miraculous amount of money, what happens?

It's not actually as bad as it sounds, being named personal as a bit misleading. Tnx for sharing my outliner system! Hope you all enjoy. Greetings, Eric
Thank you for your work
I'm sure I will! Saves me a LOT of work, and it looks much better than what I can make from following tutorials! Thanks for making this!
@@angeldelvax7219Im glad it does. Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate those a lot.

I am just lost I go into FAB and am unable to find the free stuff
\
On the Fab main page you should see a section called "Limited-Time Free" near the top
Thank you I don't like the update

Oh great spot! Thanks for sharing!
I was wondering how they were going to do this. I've not had a chance to dive in yet. Thanks for showing it.
Happy to show it Patrick!
Thanks for sharing. I miss how the Epic game launcher encapsulated the store and the new releases section.

If I use the assets in a game which I sell or earn money from, is that still okay?
Dont fully understand the difference licenses

Thanks for the update Matt
I think this could be nice because we can sort of get more free stuff during the month.
Can you do a blueprint of quake movement and windir/air strafe/bhop
why don't you show in my feed. I watch you at least 5 times a month, but I have to search for you, and have been subscribed for quite some time.
Huh weird, that’s annoying. UA-cam must be prioritising other content for you for some reason
Nice 👍🏿
Thanks 👊🏿
Man every day I get more reasons to despise fab
I hate the way fab is set up now. I miss the individual markets and pages.
Fab market place price for assets is 20 times higher now which sucks for small dev teams or new devs just getting into game development
Good update

the airbase is fantastic - the old system was better!
thanks for updating me bro thans a lot
Hi. New to UE5 - can I unlock it forever by simply pressing "Add to My Library" or do I need to download it and save it locally to have it forever?
Just add to library. No need to DL
@ thank you!!!

THE GOAT 🐐
So we get loaned assets lol. Not the worst thing in the world, but they already spoiled us 😂
I'm just gonna wait until Epic changes their system, you should not have to get a "special purchase"
