- Lake Garda is one of the best sailing locations in the world. What makes that venue so great for sailing is the thermic wind. Especially on sunny summer days you can start your day sailing with the north wind called "vento". This wind usually dies at around 11 o'clock, leaving you enough time for a quick pasta party at the club. On the afternoon the wind changes direction and starts again, then called "ora" and this are by far the best sailing conditions you can think of. But before you can start your training you have to make your way through, what I call, layers of skill. First you have the novice windsurfers in the bay of torbole. Then you have the, last week I went to surf school group or pros who want to impress girls at the beach. The next group are good windsurfers and groups of regatta sailors followed by some kite surfers. To be honest sometimes it's a bit crowded. Not to say you can walk across the lake without getting your feet wet. But after all this effort there is enough room for us foiling sailors because we are quick enough to make our way half way up to Malcesine in the blink of an eye.

I love winds in between 15 to 20 knots with not too much waves. What would you call perfect sailing conditions?
I'd say between 2 and 30 knots is quite fun 😄.

Normally sailing footage is calming. This seems to jack up the heart rate 😄
Thank you very much. The Nacra 17 is quite fast but I think the footage of non foiling boats like the Mk1 or the F18 looks more brutal and even faster even if the boat is slower. What do you prefer? Our older footage or the foiling stuff?
