Grew up in Continental ranch. Moved there when they first built it all from Phoenix. Best thing my parents did for us. No city buses, homeless, no gangs or drugs(like 95% less than the city) growing up out there. Was a great environment safe environment. Coachline and Silverbell. Back in the day the streets used to be packed with people on Halloween trick or treating insane. Here in the city you don't see nothing like that at all. I'm living in Central City Phoenix now, it's like heaven and hell. Marana being heaven. Keep those city buses out of there as long as you can, they bring lots of homeless and crime. But yeah we moved there when cortaro was a stop sign still and a two-lane road, only the McDonald's Burger King an the shell was there. Watched them build the skatepark, they wouldn't let BMX in back then, we were the ones getting arrested for riding our bikes in there, we went to the Parks and recs meetings all of that interviews for papers we got access to that skatepark for bikes! RedEndo never forget you John Dale thanks!!! Now kids could ride there without getting arrested. I've been living all around in the worst neighborhoods in Tucson and Phoenix ever since. I finally quit drinking that's why I've been in that neighborhoods but, If I would have grew up in Tucson or Phoenix in the city I probably would have became a drug addict instead of an alcoholic. All you got to do is go to your nearest homeless person to get some drugs. So yeah keep them city buses out of that neighborhood! My parents still live there and I might in 30 years when they pass away so. I don't want no buses out there. When you grew up there you want a big city more to do I get it, our big cities have big problems right now that I don't want to be a part of. Homeless drug addicts and migrants are destroying things all of our things taking our things. These hoods gang cultures, All bad. People are nicer out Marana too. That's a fact. The weather's way better out there still hot way better though. Cools off more at night rains more couple degrees cooler usually. Much more beautiful nature. The Sonoran Desert is beautiful in that area in Marana. The Hoffman's own Little Abner's, I grew up there pretty much. Parents were friends with them they're everyday for a beer after work, they were friends with the band them old folk lol, listening to the band eating beans and bread, walking home if we didn't want to stay and eat dinner so we can go home and play. Yeah dude! You can go out to the circle s saloon too get you them cheap tacos. They're the same you'd make at home White people tacos lol. The Tucson has you covered with the best Mexican food in the world so don't trip. I miss Marana can you tell.

The roads in Tucson really are a problem, some areas worse than others! Parts of Marana and some of the other suburbs seem to be a bit better! We find ourselves avoiding several roads that we know have the worst potholes as we are driving around town.

Just a tip, The Gallery golf course is private but there are a lot of others in the Tucson area that are open to the public. The Quarry Pines golf is in Marana and very close to I-10.

Correct, the Gallery is private and Quarry Pines is a good public option. Or some of the courses in Oro Valley.

There has definitely been quite a bit of development of the past several years in Marana, and really, most of the suburbs around Tucson.

      @tucsonarizonaliving  3 місяці тому

@user-cq6km9vq2m not saying $300k is necessarily affordable, but it is compared to the rest of the market and it's close to entry level pricing currently. If there is something I'm missing though, I'm open to hearing it

Labeling something as entry level when it's clearly out of the price rage of typical entry level income is odd.
To afford the "entry level price house" one has to earn more than the average salary in Tucson. See what I mean?
      That's all.
I hear rumors of a housing crash. How likely do you see this happening? Do you think this will be another big grab of the housing market by Blackrock, and what would that mean for the market?
PLUS, There are no less than four apartment complexes being built within a three mile radius of my house. What in your estimation. Will that do to the values in my neighborhood?
      Thanks if you reply.
      Insight would be welcome

@@user-cq6km9vq2m The only reason we say Entry level is because if you do a search for single family homes under $300k, you will find less than 10 currently between active and sold in the last 6 months. Affordable and entry level are two different statements in my opinion. Affordability is more what an individual/family can afford based on their income, whether than be purchasing or renting, everyone's circumstances are different. Now, if you are getting into the market to buy a single family home, most homes are going to be $300k and up, which is the "entry" or "starting" price for most homes in that area.
Now I mentioned 10 homes(single family homes for sale) under $300k, if you change the search to homes available or sold in the last 6 months to $300k-$350k, there are over 100 homes.
As far as a housing crash, we just put out a video on Friday that should answer that question. We can't predict the future but we use the data at hand to base our response to a market crash.
Blackrock(and other large investment companies) scooping up properties and making everything lean towards rentals and potentially phasing out home ownership, is a concern in our opinion.
I wouldn't think the apartments would have a huge impact, potentially an impact though so it is probably worth looking into the numbers if it is a concern of yours. I would keep an eye on home values around you and see if they start trending up or down.
I hope that all helps but feel free to reach out to us, we are always happy to help!

Good morning to you two! This is another great video about one of the Tucson suburbs! Thank you very much for highlighting it. We will definitely add this region to the list to spend a day looking around! I like that it is quasi self sufficient for services, the bike loop is in the area, and that there can be some more spread out places depending which specific spot of Marana that one finds themselves. There was also a spot that we really liked the house designs in Tierra Linda Nueva. I know it is gated…..but, we want to make sure one doesn’t need binoculars to see the mountains hehehe. We have also liked some of the houses in Marana proper; they just may not be as Rv parking friendly there.
I work in the aviation industry. I am not sure how that would pan out if we really liked Tucson and made the leap. But, a northern Tucson spot would facilitate a drive to Phoenix easier (though, if we found a house deeper in Tucson, I would be all over that option too). Fortunately, I don’t see more than one or two trips to Phoenix per week, if that is the route I went; so the extra distance from south Tucson, from a place we really liked, would be tolerable.
