I had one of those holders back in the 80's...it holds a Mason jar. I loved it with the candle!
Thank you 😊
Yes it is a jar holder. You could put a jar of home canned honey in it. But the candle is nice
The blue and white plate is Currier and Ives, I'm sure you knew that. My grandmother had a set, I loved them. When she passed away, I got them, had them for years. Thrifted many additional pieces over the years, then when my niece got married she said she wanted a set. I gifted her my grandmother's with the pieces I added. She has 4 children now, lives in the country and uses them every day. I love that.
I know those covers as, “kimonos,” obviously not real Japanese ones but that’s what we call them. Loved your haul and video ❤️
Thank you 😊
Wire piece with wooden handle is for canning to pull the mason jars out hot water.. made me think about canning with my grandmother ❤️
Thank you 😊
That candle holder idea was genius!!! Love the dress “skimmers” too.
Thank you 😊
Now why didn’t I think of that baggie and pony tail holder idea? That is so great ! Thank you Julie….the old woman learned something new!!!
Thank you 😊
You are so right about that blue plate! I am lucky enough to have a large set of that design that belonged to my mother! After she passed I put it out into my garage with the intention of getting rid of it. Well that never happened so after 15 years it is now in my house and I am using it. I absolutely love them and am so glad I kept them. I hope you are able to come across more of them for yourself.
Oh I’m so glad you kept them.
I love the way you use the "I don't know the name" as candle holder
Thank you 😊
Hi Julie, love your thrifting. On those jars with the wire on the top. The wire should go in the middle of the glass bar on the lid, there is a little indentation that it fits in. So the glass lid bar is perpendicular to the wire, instead of parallel. That way the lid can't slid off.
Love the candle holder.
You always find very unique items keeping with your home decor.
I also love how you do special bars:coffee, spices, condiments etc.
I remember when you bought the plate under your spice bar.
Even cracked items, still can be beautiful.
Your Kimono looks handmade.
Some are Kimonos some dusters some bed jackets.
They have been very popular in the last 4 years
They are very nice to just accessorize pants and skirts.
Heavier material are beautiful over dresses.as a coat.
Love Curiver and Ives.
That box, looks like a paper keeper or a jewelry box that is missing the drawers or trays like what jewelry stores used .
This video was very nice.
The airtight canisters, are very useful for everything, bath salts. miniture guest soaps spices tea bags, wrapped candy cookies etc.
They became very popular during the 50's
Usually they are expensive, and come in all sizes.
They really keep everything dry and fresh.
I use mine for dried herbs, tea bags or fresh spices.
Also, because, I buy spices and special tea and coffee from our organic store and international foods especially spices like saffron .
Perhaps your viewers will share many of ideas as to how they decorate.
I love how you buy for your home and not to resell.
The thing that you didn’t know what they are for, they use to be sold with the mason jars. Back in the 80s and 90s I have several of them, I use them with old blue mason jars. They also had smaller ones, I still see them in antique stores. That’s a good idea to put a candle in them. I’m still looking for a butter dish . Great haul ❤️
Thank you 😊
The blue box is a photo box. It had trays that slid ln the layers. Each tray had photo sleeves for pictures. The trays were gone in the box you had. I use to keep my photos in boxes like that until I started scrapbooking.
Oh how neat! Thank you so much 😊
What’s funny is that the metal holder with handle is indeed for a candle!!😊 I used to work at a store 20+ years ago, and we used to sell them with the yankee candles.
I wear those dusters to dress up my t-shirts with jeans & boots. So cute & comfy.
Thank you 😊
I love the way your mind works. That was genius putting a candle in an antique canning jar lifter.
Hi Julie! That picture was worth waiting on! It looks great in your bedroom! ❤️🤍💙
Thank you so much 😊 I love it!
I just love how you find all the different things for your home. Love to watch you shop.
I think it was lovely that you waited for that woman to be in another section before you took the Warren Kimball print. I like when people have manners.
Thank you 😊 me too. It’s lacking these days!
I’m so grateful to have you in my life. I’ve been going through a real tuff time in my life, losing my mom in the past week. But your videos have helped me take a little time for me. It’s really hard y’all. Please pray for my family to get through this. I love you all.
Praying for you Sherry. Losing your mother is heartbreaking. Been through the trauma myself. God bless you and yours. May your mom rest in peace.
@@patriciavenuto170 Thank you, and God Bless ❤️
Oh I’m so sorry! I completely understand your pain. Losing my mom was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. And I still miss her terribly!! Praying for you and your family!
@@ThrilledThrifter Thank you so much angel. God Bless you and your beautiful family.
Hi Julie, I believe that blue box was to hold photos that slid into those what looked like inner racks. You could put lil 4x5 pics on both sides and lift them for viewing. Love your print cover ups, have three so far myself. It was a great thrifting day!
Thank you so much 😊
Hi this is Grandma from Texas😉 the wire with handle is for carrying and displaying a jar, like a mason jar. Just find one big enough to fit. How wonderful that you found that piece. Good for you. Love your videos. You used to pick up almost everything on the shelf and show us the bottom of EVERYTHING!! That is what made you unique to everyone else. I miss that but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter because I love you, I love your family I love your channel and I look forward to watching your videos always. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us
Thank you so much 😊 I wish I could pick up everything but I would be in the thrift store for days 😁. I appreciate you sticking with me though.
Your little wire thing was highly popular in the late '80s and early '90s. They were made to hold Mason jars, usually with a cute little round piece of fabric or a hand-painted jar lid etc. to decorate the top. I had several of them back then.
Thank you 😊 I love the fabric idea !
Im getting claustrophobic from 4 walls from the hospital for 3 weeks to my home this week. Hubby is taking me thrifting tomorrow. Girl i cant wait. So glad you got the pic
Oh I hope you have a blast!
I love that you are digging the color blue now! It’s always been my favorite color.
That print looks just like a Quaker/Colonial homestead. So precious.
Thank you 😊 I know! I love it!
I think you were very gracious, retrained and courteous in how you handled the picture situation. Glad that you got it!
You can dress them up for church, and they are real cute to dress down with jeans. I love “them”.
Those electric skillets are the best thing in the world to fry chicken in. My momma ❤️ fried the best chicken and she always used her electric skillet. And ❤️ oh my goodness!!! That beautiful piece of artwork and the antique piece you ❤️ made a candle holder out of are just gorgeous!❤️ I love so much watching you thrift and then decorate your treasures. If I am ever feeling any anxiety or just need to unwind, watching one of your videos is the perfect prescription for me. Thank you ❤️ for 🙏 that! You and your beautiful family are just precious ❤️ Godspeed!
Awe, thank you so much Susan! We appreciate you!
Love your little candle holder! Would look sweet with a little stack of small white dishes as well! I’m a big wrought iron fan. And that wooden handle?! So sweet and timeless.
Oh yes! That’s a good idea! Thank you so much 😊
So true. Your best advice for when shopping at thrift stores. Because there's only one of a kind of items there. Thank you for sharing 🌷😊
Thank you 😊 and yes!
That is for a candle! I have a few, I owned for several years. And that is so cool how you got it right. Yep! A candle holder!! ☝️😆✊
Awesome! Thank you 😊
I grew up eating off those type of plates. Brings back memories
The "wire lock thats on top of the clear glass jar that you purchased for spices is SUPPOSE TO BE PLACED INSIDE THE "RAISED STAR PATTERN YOU'LL SEE ON ITS TOP"...the one you purchased in todays video doesn't have a star pattern I think I saw just two "raised dashes...anyway...place your "top wire" inbetween those markers because thisis the thickest part of the top and will be stronger for any pressure to close it. I have had bunches and used them as you are and I found out the hard way that this is how the glass tops were intended to be used.
Thank you 😊
On the lid of your spice jar, if you line up the metal piece with the opening on the lid (the space in the middle) it will close easier. I hope that made sense
Thank you 😊
It’s also to old the old mason jars. Makes a great decor look. I have one in my kitchen with dried apple slices in it
Oh that’s a good idea too! Thank you 😊
I believe they are called dusters to wear over clothes. Al says love your thrift hauls and the way you style your finds.
Thank you 😊
I love those small jars with the glass lids. The lid actually goes the other way with the wire setting in the middle. They look cute with the spices.
It’s a candle holder! They used to sell them with canning jar candles!
Thank you 😊
We had this Warren Kimble print in my living room as a little girl. It brings me back.
I LOVE that bird decanter! the wire piece is for holding a candle is a glass jar
Elizabeth looked soooo happy back there. Enjoying her yummy drink.
The wire piece with the handle is to set a mason jar in. I bought one at an antique store with a jar in it. Candle looks good in it yo.
Thank you 😊
I love the wire candle holder. I think the wire piece could be an old canning jar lift.
Thank you 😊
I had these years ago for Yankee candle jar and mason jars. You found good finds thrifting!
You were very diplomatic about the picture, and I’m so glad you got it!
Thank you 😊
One plate at a time is what i do too! It's a fun challenge to find the pieces you want.
I use lemon essential oil as well, works like a charm.
Love your Warren Kimble print. I love folk artists. My fav is will Moses.
Thank you 😊
Hello Julie! Great buy on the Coper Chef. I am happy it works and only $7.99 a steal. I love birds and I even have a bird feeder and put food for them. Blue Jays, Cardinals, Woodpecker come to eat. I buy the bird vase it is beautiful. My husband loves Rooster he grew up in a farm in Puerto Rico. I grew up in the city in San Juan. The pink plate I like it. The Cookie jar Christmas bear is pretty. I have one with light that my husband bought me from Cracker Barrel store. Great job on the metal and candle idea. It goes together beautifully! Bravo you got the print! You snooze you lose! Good night. Our Princess Class of 2022👩🎓🌺Proud Parents 💞
Thank you so much 😊
Hi Julie, the picture was a steal. Luv the tips too. Wear those with jeans and a cami. Dresses up the jean look a little. Have a great weekend!!
Thank you 😊
Those tops are actually called "Shrugs" and are very popular this year.
Oh awesome! Thank you 😊
i love your " candle holder"
Thank you 😊
Love the Warren Kimble Print, it’s one of my favorites! I’ve seen it at our local antique mall, but not in my price range. If I even found it at a thrift store I’d definitely put it in my buggy!
Thank you 😊
I love that rooster pitcher u picked up and looked at I would have grabbed it up for my kitchen. The Warren Kimble picture is so nice good choice.
Thank you 😊
Wow your super sweet to not grab that first picture that she wasn’t even looking at. I’ve had people almost run me over to get things on the shelf in front of me.
Lucky you😊Beautiful picture! Like your candle idea, almost looks like a draining unit for glass baby bottles (back in the day)
Thank you 😊
The wire "candle holder" is to hold mason jars (or any jars) in the pan of boiling water when canning your food. You can lift it out with the handle.
Thank you 😊
Been looking forward to seeing your video all day love your fines and that wire vintage with the handle looked great with your candle in it . And the over lays for your dresses were so pretty I wear those sometimes too . You definitely are my favorite thrifter .
Thank you so much Kathy!
I have watch all of your videos. We may not have the same style, but I enjoy the shopping experience with you. 🙂
Thank you 😊
Love the candle holder idea!
Thank you 😊
The clothing item is called a duster.
Thank you 😊
I have a couple of those holders with the wooden handle - the thing you put your candle in. I use them to hold my mason jar lamps. I filled mason jars with very natural looking potpourri and then added the light fixture to the jar. Put on a country lamp shade and then plop that into that holder and you have yourself a great downhome country lamp. I have both of mine in my kitchen.
That’s awesome! Thank you 😊
The coverups you bought are called "kimonos" The print you bought was a good deal as some of his other prints similar to that one can go for over $40.00.
Oh wow! Thank you so much 😊
Hi Julie, I love my electric skillet. I keep the electrical cord inside the skillet in a old potholder glove , when not in use. I just wanted to be sure it didn't scratch my skillet and keep them together.
Now that’s brilliant! I’ll be sharing that tip with everyone! Thank you
I bought my kimono aabout 3 years ago. That's what they advertised it as when i bought it. I wore it a few times then the pandemic hit and didn't go anywhere. Need to start wearing again. You have such a way with my decorating. Love it all!
I love your video's . You really hit the jack pot with the skillet. You found some really nice thing. I love the picture as well.
Thank you 😊
At my local GW's anything electrical can be returned within allowed time ...I got an electrical skillet as a wedding present 53 years ago and flat wore it out ...flat loved it....granny franny
Thank you 😊
Marlene peters- i can't say it enough. You really find such different things and then incorporate them into vignettes and they look so cozy and warm. I love the picture, frying pan, the rustic holder you put the candle in. Just perfect. Everything was great. Have a lovely blessed week.
Thank you so much 😊
That thing that you put your candle in was a great idea I really like that
Mama taught me to spread peanut butter on top of stickers or the sticky residue, then let it set for a little while. After that, it'll all come right off. 😊
So glad you was able to get that picture you wanted. That iron wire thing , I thought what in the world will she do with that!! Well it looks fabulous with that candle … perfection!
Thank you 😊
Good tip with baggy. That copper skillet is a good find and the copper is a hot item now. $20.00 for that gate was good but if you wait, you’ll find a better price.
The wire with wood is for a mason jar.
Yes I believe it was used when canning to lift a jar in/out of the hot water.
Thank you 😊
I used to have candle holders like the one you found. Now I wish I kept them because they really look great with farmhouse as well as primitive decor! Love the Warren Kimble pic too! Score!
Julie, love those dusters! They even look great with pants with a top in the same color. This piece elevates your look, really over dresses or pants. Fabulous find! Great to see your Family, stay safe and healthy! ❤️❤️
Thank you 😊 yes! I love them too!
I love a good electric frying pan. I loved the one my mother had. I thrifted one just like hers and when I found another one I thrift that one too. I want a spare in case someday the one no longer works. Now my daughter wants one. They have to have been made in the late 1950s. Someone gifted me a new pan for Christmas because they thought mine was too old. But I still use my original.
Oh I know! When you find a good pan you stick With it!
LOVED the cheese graters, rooster and bird sconce!
Hi, I just saw that painting on eBay, for $150.00. U did well to wait around, the other lady’s lose n yr gain. Yay Julie…. ☺️
Thank you so much 😊
Those thin dusters or jackets (I don’t know what to call them either) would also look good over some skinny jeans and a tank top too. Perfect for fall in the South because as you know, we have some hot days even in October and November.
Your daughter is absolutely stunning 🤩 but you are beautiful also👍🏻
Awe, thank you 😊
I have one of those things you used as a candle holder. I put an old blue mason jar in mine the jar belonged to my grandma, and I made an oil lamp out the jar.
I have a few of those from both Grandma's, they kept large Mason jars in them.
Thank you so much 😊
So the shirt I believe is called a smock.Very pretty. Also I just wanted to mention I also thrifted a Presto electric skillet. I went online and found the owners manual. I was very surprised to find out I can put the entire unit (except electrical attachment) in the dishwasher or totally submerge in water. I will not put it in the dishwasher, but I did submerge mine and washed it and it was just fine. So take a look and see if you can do that with.yours.
Oh really! How neat! Ok, yes! Great idea. Thank you 😊
So glad you got the Warren Kimball print. It looks beautiful in your bedroom.
The wire holder with the wooden handle is to hold a jar, I have several and I put my Ball jars in them.
Thank you 😊
We use those to hold quart mason jars in the 90s The wire metal basket thing you with the word handle this what I’m talking about
Hi Julie...loved each item you found...that Warren Kimble picture is just yummy! I also have the same holder you put your candle into...have styled it for years. You can put a canning jar (clear Or colored) in it with your choice of "jar fillers" inside or a bunch of flowers inside the jar...ideas are endless. Also the gorgeous kimonos you got look just as stylish thrown over a pair of blue jeans with a solid colored top underneath & cute fall booties. Great Haul...love your videos, your decor ideas, your lovely home...& of course you & your sweet family. Keep em comin!
Acetone (nail polish remover)will remove the glue left from the stickers, too.
It was meant for you to have the Warren Kimble. Love it and how you styled it. 😊
Thank you 😊
I had a gold samsonite set of luggage. My sister got it as a high school graduation gift for me for college.
Loved the blue fabric with cherries!!!
The shawl thing is called a duster
Thank you 😊
Strong rubbing alcohol gets sticky stuff from price tags off. Use cotton with alcohol on it.
Dusters or kimonos is the name of the pieces you bought, I too love them, I have several! You little spice jar with the metal closer works better if you turn it the other way and the cross wire goes in the middle area, kinda a circle, and the raised arrrow part holds it from slipping off! Hope you understand what I'm trying to say! Love your finds a always!❤️
Olive or vegetable oil work for sticky residue also.
Is that candle holder for drying mittens?
Those are called kimonos. 💗
The blue plate is really cute. I have a set of the same set . The saucers coffee cups along with the bowls have different prints on them. They initially belonged to my grandmother. I have them in a corner hutch and on an open shelf to display them.
Love your haul, your house and flag Picture. Also love the dress covers. Maxine Ok
Thank you 😊
Your little jar for your pepper, is available at my Dollar General in s set of 5 or 6.
Really? I’ll have to ck. These seem much older though.
So glad you went back and got the picture. That wire piece looks like it might hold glasses or jars.
The picture you got was Courier and Ives..
Love those kimonos you got to go over your dresses
Thank you 😊
You always start my weekend with a smile. Thank you!!!!!
Thank you 😊
Love all your items. You always testing my memory on items. The canning jar carrying the hot jars out of the water.
