Always a pleasure to have you with us, Liz! You are one of the gang, and it wouldn't be the same without you. Thank you for watching, and have a great weekend!
Hi, Susan! As I mentioned, I am only upcycling baskets that I find at the thrift stores, etc, and NEVER any specialty baskets. I still hold out hope that some will regain value. But in the meantime, I am surrounding myself with baskets that reflect my own style, and that work for me. I consider that a win-win! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful, T!! Absolutely love the colors!! I 100% agree that it's better to transform something, give it a new life & love it in it's new version! You did a fabulous job! So stinking cute! LOVE! Thank you for sharing the history of Longaberger, your talent & for hosting, gf!! Luv ya! 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you, Miss Monica! This was really such a fun group to do a playlist with - and there were so many great transformations! Thank you so much for joining us! Luv ya!
So pretty Trac! Absolutely love💝 those colors, two of my favorite!!! Your basket no longer is outdated and country in nature. A beautiful transformation my friend! 🤗TFS and for co-hosting with me. This was so fun! Best playlist EVER!!!!💓💓💓
I gasped when I saw the paint brush leave a white stripe along the rim...... When I was growing up and you saw one of those baskets it was worshipped practically. I'm from Ohio and have seen that big ol basket loom as I've passed by. I'm just getting into crafting again, and up cycling a few things, I'll be sure to keep my eye out for these baskets now that I know they are no longer ' don't touch! It's a longaberger!!'.... Lol
Love this basket so much! The story of the Longaberger company is very interesting. I appreciate so much that you share the size brushes you use and why. I wouldn't have a clue.
I never sold them, but have them scattered throughout the house and I USE them! I love seeing creative ideas to utilize them in new ways. Thanks so much for sharing😂❤!!
You really made my day! I still have them all over as well, and like you, I use them! Dawn and I really hope that this series will prompt others to do the same. Thank you for watching!!
My daughter went to school in Columbus Ohio so one time when I went to visit we drove out to see the basket building. I was so amazed at the sight. I heard that they are converting the building into a hotel.
I so hope that they do! There is a video on YT of someone that went into the building (illegally, I am guessing), and did a bunch of filming to show how amazing it was inside. TFW, Jackie!
I thought about decoupaging a napkin seeing what you went through so glad I didn’t. I love what you did to your basket. The Ballet Slipper is such a pretty paint.
I have way to many of the baskets and remember going to the shows hearing what an investment they will be , lol ! I visited the basket building and the quaint little town of Dresden.
Paula, how cool that you have been in the big basket! I often wondered what it looked like inside. I want to thank you for watching, and I hope you will keep an eye out for our next basket challenge in July!
Wow! What a collection that must be! I have quite a few myself. I use the Woven Traditions dishes every day, but didn't really get all the pieces. I regret not doing that. Thanks so much for watching!!
I used to be a buckeye girl! Grew up there, and went to Kent State. I am in Indiana now, but I do miss my beloved Ohio!! I will have to give you a shout the next time we head your direction! Thank you so much for watching, and for sharing this! I appreciate it so much!
we rarely find them where I live. ad when I do I sell them for quite a bit . It was never a thing here where I live . never heard if any parties or anything .
I am glad to hear there are areas where they are holding value! I do think that in time, the values may go back up. But for the catalog baskets, they are really easy to find for just a few dollars. Thank you so much for watching, and sharing your comments!
That was always the case before, though I cannot say for sure any longer. I had personally hosted an event years ago, and had hired a weaver to come and do a demonstration. It really is incredible to watch.
I absolutely agree. I was at one yesterday, and some of the prices were actually more on par with a retail store. It's a shame. Thank you for watching! I appreciate it!
I actually searched for a video just like this several months ago! 😃 I typed in something like “how to up cycle a Longerberger basket”? 🧺 I don’t want to change all of mine, but I do want to refresh some of them to match certain themes better. All of my baskets are from thrift stores, antique stores, or have been purchased from friends who no longer wanted them. (I got a large picnic basket at a wonderful price from a friend.). Thanks for the video! 💕
Debra, I am so excited to hear this! Our group of creators will be doing another basket challenge in July, so I hope you will stop back and check those out as well! We all want to use these baskets, and make them fit into our decor. Thank you so much for watching, and your lively comments!!
I’m always on the lookout for these. Every once in a blue moon, I see donated collections.
I haven't run into any collections in my thrift travels, but that would be awesome! Thank you so much for watching!
I’ve seen these baskets with a lot of different designs painted on them. I think it enhances them.
I think it does, too! It's all about making them work in your own space. To each his own, right? Thanks for watching!!
It was a pleasure to hang out with you ladies again
Always a pleasure to have you with us, Liz! You are one of the gang, and it wouldn't be the same without you. Thank you for watching, and have a great weekend!
I inherited my mothers longaberger baskets when she passed away. She had soooooooooo many!!
Did you keep them and use them? Thanks for watching!
I do!! I have them in my craft room as organization!! I also have the big ice chest with the styrofoam in it!

I found a huge Longaberger picnic basket and looking for something just like this.
What a great find! I hope it inspired you to do your own rescue!! Thank you so much for watching!

Is it true that all Longaberger basket are handmade. No machinery involved?
That was always the case before, though I cannot say for sure any longer. I had personally hosted an event years ago, and had hired a weaver to come and do a demonstration. It really is incredible to watch.
Goodwill has raised their prices depending on the area. Some are too crazy in price.
I absolutely agree. I was at one yesterday, and some of the prices were actually more on par with a retail store. It's a shame. Thank you for watching! I appreciate it!
