  • Demonstration of how I repaired a Conn Connstellation 38B trumpet from 1969. Connstellation was one of the most popular jazz trumpets and used e.g. by Maynard Ferguson. In the end of the video there is also some playing samples.

Esittelen tässä videossa kuinka korjasin Conn Connstellation 38B trumpetin vuodelta 1969. Connstellation oli aikanaan eräs suosituimmista jazz/viihde trumpeteista. Lopussa myös soittonäyte.

Wow, terrific repair job, Timo! I think most people would've considered that 38B a lost cause in its previous condition, but you brought it back to life quite nicely! Great save!

Mark Metzler at Metzler Brass has an outstanding reputation restoring Conn (and other brand) brass instruments. Charlie Melk in Georgia is one of the best, too.

You have a full sound. May I ask what mouthpiece you use? I also have a conn 38 but I can not get such a nice sound

Thank you! In these play tests I use two different mouthpieces. The first two samples are played with Bach 3 and the last on his played with Bob Reeves 43M69.
