Amazing techniques! I remember Peter talking with me about your glazes and some of the things you did. Seeing you actually making them is a real treat! Thank you.
The glaze is more even doing it this way rather than doing it with a brush, but there are times when I do have to brush glazes on and that's when I'm not satisfied with a glaze and decide to add more glaze for a further firing.
Wow Dan! You really get your work out in don’t you. I really like the look of those pots. Brown oddly enough is my favorite color. And that whitish color really makes the brown pop!
I really liked that thank you for sharing. I enjoy your videos immensely they give me great food for thought. I appreciate pots so much more after watching you work your magic.
@@danbartonslifewithbonsai745 That would be awesome I will be watching for sure. Thank you for taking you time to make and share your stunning work I really do appreciate it
Great video thanks for the content! Just a suggestion maybe you could smooth the holes out with the wet sponge so they Wouldn’t be so Sharp on the fingers.
I don't use cones - I have an electronic controller and have programmed the glaze firing to reach 1200C then soak for 25 minutes and then it shuts down

Yes! Thank you! Your comments are much appreciated.
Nice to see a large pot being glazed, I always thought it was brushed on!

Thanks for the tip - I'll give it a try
Really informative. Thank you Mr Barton. I wonder if we will see your kiln as well in a future video? Do you still have bonsai as well?
Thank you Matthew - I'm sure my kiln will pop up sooner or later in one of our future vids.
Wish we could see them fired but nice to see the method for large pots
They can be seen somewhere in the Gallery (Pots) on my webstie - but you'll have to search for them
I am not a potter but I found this video very interesting it make me want to have a go.
Yes, please do - you'll love working with clay, it's so relaxing and therapeutic
🙌 Thank you so much for this! Quality video as always :D
Thank you Slim - much appreciated
Nice! It is interesting to see them after firing. Thank you!
Certainly, if I remember but I usually post all of my finished pots on my Face Book wall anyway.
Do you know Peter Chan? He started his journey into bonsai trees through pottery.
Yes I know Peter Chan very well - years ago I used to visit him every month for 9 months in the year and I helped refine his trees for him
Great video. What kind of wax do you use ?
Thanks - it's a commercially available wax emulsion available from any pottery supplier.
I would like to know what cone you are firing. Thanks,
I don't use cones - I have an electronic controller and have programmed the glaze firing to reach 1200C then soak for 25 minutes and then it shuts down
👍👍🙏
Please show final results next time.
Check out today's posting on IG and you'll see the larger of the two pots there - the other is still waiting to be fired! danbarton_bonsai
