3:19 actually they kinda thought of that. You die in the cutscene when you acquire the mortal blade. I mean the whole point is that it kills anyone who draws it, but you can resurrect after it does that to you. So even if you do a no-death run, you will still have died at least once.

I personally believe its when Sekiro sacrifice himself in one of the ending (because thats when he truely dies) while many believes its when he draw mortal blade.

@DoomWolfOfficial not there yet on the second plat, still got like 2 trophies left one is the normal ending, and the hardest one yet... all skills unlocked. Which idk how after 3 endings and a bit of grinding between them all but at least all that's left are the empowered draw and the like
In case you don't know the ashina elite and the vilehand can be skipped by going through the room leading to Isshin's place and then grappling up to the top. Oh also with divine dragon it is possible with mortal slash. Its weird to do but search it up if you are interested.

Hey, this is my suggestion from the last combat arts challenge you did. No complaints about invalid run from the way you got started here.
19:41 The boss is “optional” because there is a much longer route you can take to get to the roof of the castle. That is to just navigate to Isshin’s watchtower.
Yeah it's because Malenia was initially designed to be a Sekiro DLC boss, but when that fell through, they just said "fuck it" and put her in a completely different game.
you can damage the divine dragon with the mortal blade combat arts. it does very littel damage but it is possible. so as long as you suffer through the ape you can actually do this
what i've learned today you can hit the divine dragon with mortal draw (at least that is what several people have said lol), i'll have to test, but honestly, Id rather not have to suffer through ape lmao
@@DoomWolfOfficial thats valid yeah, but its honestly quite the nice way to fight the dragon. You actually feel like it truly is a collosus monstrosity you cannot measure up to, barely tickling it with a blade where the pulling of it alone kills mortals
@@DoomWolfOfficialYou can also whittle the dragon down by deflecting its attacks. It had zero posture regeneration, so while it takes forever, you can beat it that way too. The only lightning counter that is necessary is that final, cinematic one that I’d argue is more like the first hit of the deathblow.
@@DoomWolfOfficial yeah I've noticed you've done a "Sekiro dance" multiple times here 😂 (basically spam the guard button hoping for a reflect). That wouldn't work in your previous one because without Kuro's talisman you basically have to do every parry perfectly to not get damaged
Since halfway through the run you decided to scrap depleting a boss's vitality bar, you unknowingly unlocked a fourth option to start a run. 4) Skip the ogre fight, go straight to Gyobu and parry him until he falls. (Gyobu artless, so to say). This would net you one skill point (almost two, actually) and therefore unlocks the Ashina esotheric text, where you can get Whirlwind Slash for the skill point you just acquired.
Well, I didn't scrap the vitality thing halfway through, I just only explained it halfway through as armored warrior is the only enemy it applies to, thus it made mroe sense to just say it when he came up haha
Shadowrush combat art was what carried me through Genichiro fight in Ashina castle. It allowed me to close distance pretty fast and also dealt nice damage so that his posture recovers more slowly. Even without mana, it was quite good.
Vile hand is actually optional, there is pathing on the side of tower that allows you to grapple up while completely avoiding the inside, granted its a much larger run back for owl, personally I do kill vile hand every time cause I want the juicy prayer bead
I think one time I scaled the outside, but it was after I did vile hand (I left and did something else after owl kicked my teeth in), and I was like "oh that's cool that opens _after_ vilehand" and it was jsut an old lapse in judgement. But I'd much prefer the closer runback haha
The absolute best result I have got on the blazing bull was with the shuriken on his "drift" and chasing slash + 3 or so hits. Shuriken actually interrupts the bull's drift.
I remember going out of order and beating big monke 2 before i got the mortal blade, and funnily enough the good boy waits for you until you get the blade to kill him with it
Lone shadow Vileland and elite guy in same room during genichiro are both optional because you can just grapple up to the rooftops from the antechamber idol
That lone shadow longswordman can lose a health bar if you execute him if you jump from above (a little more ahead of where you meet the samurai that looks down the "well", there's a hole in the ground and you look at him). Not sure if executes were allowed tho, since you specifically avoided any (outside of last hits/max posture)
That's correct! And it makes the fight way easier! But like you said, I mentioned no stealth deathblows near the beginning so I couldn't take one of his health bars haha
Thats not...I mean yes after the bull, the top of castle for geni is the gentle push the devs want you to go, but at that time stamp wasn't after the bull, I had already beaten Geni, and the game state was set for owl, which is why the next cut was to owl lol theres a couple of idols up there, but you can't warp straight to the top, I think there is a way around the outside (where the optional text comes from) but I have just personally never done that
The vile hands are actually optional lol. If you go back to the previous idol, run back out of the window there’s a bridge leading directly to owl. I chose this method as I would rather lose my sanity due to an actual boss lol.
lmfao i never encountered the duo fight in the dojo in ashina castle until i did a run specifically looking for all the prayer beads i always just grappled up
id love to do only parry, but I don't think it's possible. sure it builds their posture meter, but if they stop attacking it just goes down again because they have full health ya know?
@@DoomWolfOfficial Yea thats a fairly good point. A no parry run would be a good alternative, though i dont know about the centipede giraffe. ALso, ER fist only run when?
technically you can damage the divine dragon with mortal draw. you get close to his neck when he does the attack that digs through the ground(or air in this case?). only the last hit lightning hit is necesary but at that point its safe to assume that the last lightning is the deathblow.
its so surreal realizing that theres people who havent played this game 15 times in a row and dont know that combat arts that raise you off the ground can lightning redirect
I played the game 15 times in a row on release, then not again until the videos lmao also tbf I don't think it's all combat arts that do that though, right? like whirlwind slash doesn't do it iirc (I ..think I tested that in this video? maybe i'm wrong), floating passage? spiral cloud? Idk, I know sakura dance does and according to _many_ comments high monk does lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial the high monk one does it and sakura dance does it. might be others but its easier to just jump so i only use sakura dance for style
I can’t be the only one who did their first attempt of the old dragons of the tree with only whirlwind slash without noticing the deathblow possibility
Technically speaking, wouldn’t it be possible to get some skill points by cheesing Gyoubu Oniwa (when you shove him off of a cliff)? Then again, if you were to ask me, that cheese is literally harder than fighting him normally lmao Anyway, high-quality video as always, Mr. Wolf!
true! I forgot about the gyoubu cheese, you could do that, and I technically never said no glitches in the rules did I? though that's usually implied haha but you right! and thanks!
Fun fact, you don't have to kill the hat shield guys at 5:12 to complete the quest, just kill the dude without a hat shield behind them and Isshin will give you the textbook.
@@DoomWolfOfficial Yeah for some reason the only one with the quest marker is the one in black. I'm assuming it's because they can't assign Isshin's quest to the hat shield bros because you're able to eavesdrop on them and they can't have both flags on at the same time? Don't quote me on that.
7:20 honestly those guys I have only ever fought through cheese. First you aggro them and run away till only 1 is chasing you / is close to reaggro. Second axe over and over with the follow up attack from the skill... Sometimes they'll get a hit but you can generally tank enough to get 2 hits in which breaks their posture or leaves it like 1-2 normal hits away and then BAM they die. Yes it felt cheesy using the axe like this, but there are some enemies that honestly are just annoying to fight without it, at least at my skill level.
You can actually kill the divine dargon with the help of empowered mortal draw, you can hit him with mortal draw when he does his snake type ground attack where he tries to hit you with his head

Yeah it's a great art, just don't use it against owl lpl
All yall are sleeping on the ichimongi double, that shit is better than even the mortal blade
ITS FINALLY HERE!! Wolf has returned to sekiro 🎉
I can't wait to go back again lol
Nice video as always, cheers
Thanks, I appreciate it :)
6:13 I just run, he will not try to catch u, u need to kill only dogs and that’s it :)
I also just run, not sure why I decided to fight him here of all runs haha
@@DoomWolfOfficial a video came long time ago and u replied? Is this real? Am I sleeping?
@@kekishov I do my best to respond to comments, though responses are harder because I don't always see the notification haha
If you time it correctly, you can actually hit the divine dragon in the face with a mortal draw. Fact of the day!
A few people have said this, i'll have to give it a try sometime!
High monk can be used to perform lightning reversals if you catch it with the first jump.
Yes! I didn't know that until the comments told me lol
Socker boppers was a throw back I wasn’t ready for lol
I'm just glad someone caught it, you're the first to mention it haha
16:40 you can actually run straight to owl without ever going inside the castle (travel to the abandoned dungeon entrance and parkour up to owl)
This is true! Though I never do it because it feels like the long way haha
You can kill snakeeyes with the poison it will take a minute, but that is the way I did it because I went there way too early in the game
True! Though I don't think i've ever done it haha
I will say sekiro is the most polished soulsborne game, like unless you are actively trying to break the game, then you're not gonna
basically yeah haha
The absolute best result I have got on the blazing bull was with the shuriken on his "drift" and chasing slash + 3 or so hits. Shuriken actually interrupts the bull's drift.
That's huge news, i'll have to try it!
I remember going out of order and beating big monke 2 before i got the mortal blade, and funnily enough the good boy waits for you until you get the blade to kill him with it
I do love that he just kinda stays there until you come back with the mortal blade haha
Lone shadow Vileland and elite guy in same room during genichiro are both optional because you can just grapple up to the rooftops from the antechamber idol
true, but that's the long way around lol
That lone shadow longswordman can lose a health bar if you execute him if you jump from above (a little more ahead of where you meet the samurai that looks down the "well", there's a hole in the ground and you look at him). Not sure if executes were allowed tho, since you specifically avoided any (outside of last hits/max posture)
That's correct! And it makes the fight way easier! But like you said, I mentioned no stealth deathblows near the beginning so I couldn't take one of his health bars haha
Damn you could have stopped at shura ending and I don’t think anyone would have a problem lol. Grats!
I thought about it, and doing the early game grind for whirlwind slash just to say it's 100% doable, but isshin won't let me get away that easily haha
When you were fighting genichiro doom you could of deflected the lighting with high monk its possible
yeah I didn't know about that until people pointed it out here lol
so its like a combat arts nuzlocke?
wouldn't that mean if I die I lose the one I'm using? though, i'm not sure what this is...just combat art-locke? lol
16:39 the castle doesn’t need to be completed. You can straight to the top right after the bull to Genichiro
Thats not...I mean yes after the bull, the top of castle for geni is the gentle push the devs want you to go, but at that time stamp wasn't after the bull, I had already beaten Geni, and the game state was set for owl, which is why the next cut was to owl lol
theres a couple of idols up there, but you can't warp straight to the top, I think there is a way around the outside (where the optional text comes from) but I have just personally never done that
A Sekiro run. A surprise to be sure but a welcome one. Only hardcore challenge runners do Sekiro.
haha, well I'm glad you welcome the run, I want to do more sekiro, it just doesn't lend itself to challenges easily
No I suppose it doesn't.
run inval- liked sub'd and nice vid!
haha thanks my friend :)
The vile hands are actually optional lol. If you go back to the previous idol, run back out of the window there’s a bridge leading directly to owl. I chose this method as I would rather lose my sanity due to an actual boss lol.
I know, but it's the long way around lol
lmfao i never encountered the duo fight in the dojo in ashina castle until i did a run specifically looking for all the prayer beads i always just grappled up
Lol yeah I was the opposite, the first time playing I did the fight and then just assumed it was he intended way up haha
16:39 There's a fact that you can skip Lone Shadow Vilehand by going to Isshin's room then get to Owl's place :v
True! But it's also the very long way around
You should do a run where you only parry, or only attack. That would definitely be interesting
id love to do only parry, but I don't think it's possible. sure it builds their posture meter, but if they stop attacking it just goes down again because they have full health ya know?
@@DoomWolfOfficial Yea thats a fairly good point. A no parry run would be a good alternative, though i dont know about the centipede giraffe. ALso, ER fist only run when?
10:28 I may be wrong but you can counter lighting attacks using high monk kick or other combat arts getting you off the ground
It works with high monk, which I did not know until a few people commented it, Sakura dance as well, but I don't know of others haha
16:41 if you go in through isshins house through the fake wall you can make it to the owl fight without fighting him.
true! it's just the long way around so nahhhh lol
wow, cloud spiral passage is pretty much a ground Waterfowl Dance. I've never really used many of these combat arts in game
I didn't notice the likeness, but you right haha
Just do a ledge skip on the ogre, & bait gyobu's horse off a cliff to get a skill point...
Yeeeaaah..I mean I could, I also showed a way to do it without glitches too but it's fine haha
Gyobu- wanna watch anime
Sekiro sure
Gyobu-sub or dub
Sekiro-sub
Gyobu-sike
Sub is best, but gyobu can like what he wants lll
you can reverse lightning attacks with high monk btw, the timing is sorta awkward at first, it has to hit you at the height of your jump.
Yeah! I learned that from the comments here, wish I knew that before the video lol
Against Genichiro, you can counter the thunder with the leaping kick or every other jumping attack
Yeah! I learned in these comments that you can use High monk, wish I had stumbled on that haha
technically you can damage the divine dragon with mortal draw. you get close to his neck when he does the attack that digs through the ground(or air in this case?). only the last hit lightning hit is necesary but at that point its safe to assume that the last lightning is the deathblow.
yeah I didn't know this! A few people pointed it out, and it's so cool i'm still learning things about this games haha
Hope you reach 100k nice video
Thanks my friend, I really appreciate it, both statements :)
its so surreal realizing that theres people who havent played this game 15 times in a row and dont know that combat arts that raise you off the ground can lightning redirect
I played the game 15 times in a row on release, then not again until the videos lmao
also tbf I don't think it's all combat arts that do that though, right? like whirlwind slash doesn't do it iirc (I ..think I tested that in this video? maybe i'm wrong), floating passage? spiral cloud? Idk, I know sakura dance does and according to _many_ comments high monk does lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial the high monk one does it and sakura dance does it. might be others but its easier to just jump so i only use sakura dance for style
I can’t be the only one who did their first attempt of the old dragons of the tree with only whirlwind slash without noticing the deathblow possibility
at least you were using a horizontal attack lol
Technically speaking, wouldn’t it be possible to get some skill points by cheesing Gyoubu Oniwa (when you shove him off of a cliff)? Then again, if you were to ask me, that cheese is literally harder than fighting him normally lmao
Anyway, high-quality video as always, Mr. Wolf!
Huh, I had always assumed you needed to take out all 3, thanks for the tip!
Doom never fails to wolf my official
i'm glad..i think lol
You can redirect the Lightning with High Monk too, makes a Lot easier
someone else mentioned that, i'm definitely gonna have to try it just because that sounds hilarious lol
I'll have to try that one of these days, the axe doesn't get a lot of use in my runs except to break shields haha
You can actually kill the divine dargon with the help of empowered mortal draw, you can hit him with mortal draw when he does his snake type ground attack where he tries to hit you with his head
A few people have mentioned that! I'm not even sure I've ever seen that attack lol
@@DoomWolfOfficialmany speed runners use that to speed up their fight btw great video earned a sub
FYI on genichiro you can use high monk as a lightning reversal
seriously?? I might have to try that lol
Im a simple man, i see doom wolf, i like and comment before i watch the whole thing
Thanks I appreciate it haha
