I have a rescue Angora/Mini-Lop and she's the cudliest cuttest bun ever :) I started using clippers on her lately instead of constant brushing. She seems to be okay either way... brushing every two days or a monthly clip with weekly brushes. She actually seems happier after her clipper days. I think she loves having less hair every once in a while. I was worried the first time that'd she'd be in shock after, but she was doing binkies within a minute after I put her on the floor. Thanks for the info! The tiny buns are super cute!
As a pet if kept indoors as a house rabbit, they can be litter trained but it takes time and patience. 1 rabbit can poop 200-400 pellets a day and male rabbits if not neutered get excited and can spray urine as they jump around to which I am convinced they CAN aim! LOL!!!!
So good, Alyssa!! The video was really well organized and I love the FAQ format. I think that will be so helpful for anyone interested in getting one of these precious furballs! And those babies! 🥰🐰.
Thank you for this video. I only just heard of these rabbits an hour ago and was immediately intrigued as someone who recently learned to spin sheep wool. You gave me a lot to think about.
I’m so happy for you! Angora rabbits are a magical discovery, especially for someone who knows they love fiber arts! When I first discovered them I knew nothing about fiber arts but fell head over heels just as predicted when I looked into these enchanting animals!
I loved this video! It really answered a lot of my questions. I did want to know, though, how to choose an angora bunny kit (or adult) for a first timer.
@@edensangora6825 when you started cracking up looking in the view finder I couldn't stop laughing. I'm sure it looked very chaotic to you! But it looks adorable to me!
Hello, from New Zealand. You shared really good information. Loved your format and your rabbits. I breed English and German Angoras, so it's always wonderful to see other Angora lovers. Hope you share more🐇💜💚 I don't breed for-profit or as a business, I don't believe this is a viable option or something I want to do. I raise them because I love them and I use their fiber to make soft beautiful garments. I have been doing it for over 20 years.
Hello Bathsheba! It’s so nice to meet you! I’m happy you enjoyed the video. I don’t believe it can really be done right as a business either. I do really enjoy it as a side job/hobby and adore my bunnies!
Just found your channel and your videos have been so helpful! I knit and I'm learning to spin, and I'm interested in getting an angora. I've kept rabbits for years before so I have enough rabbit experience to competently get started. Is there a specific breed of angora you've heard is the friendliest? How friendly and calm they are is extremely important to me.
Oh I definitely have opinions on this topic Cassidy! Welcome btw! I should start by saying it’s not only the breed, but the bloodline that matters. They need to be bred for personality! My friendliest are the Giant Angoras, and I’d say the Germans are the calmest so far. I only have limited experience with Giants so they may win overall, but previously I’d have said Germans by a landslide. French are much “wilder” as are Satins, and English are friendly but very moody. Again- this is just my opinion and personal experience.
The only bad thing about my bun is he bites the electric cords wherever he can find them! My outdoors sun battery lights, my fishing rod, and his clippers are gone!
It depends on the Angora breed you choose and the quality of the bloodline, as well as factors like feed and coat care. A good French CAN produce around a pound of fiber a year, and a German or Giant around 10oz a shearing or more, but like I said- too many factors to just slap a figure on there.
Are you hurting the bunnies? I just want to make sure they’re not hurt. Thank you and by the way I saw people literally spinning their hair while they were awake and whimpering.. Please educate me.
Hey Cicily! These bunnies are not being hurt in any way! They naturally shed their wool like a dog. I don’t spin straight from the rabbit, but while they are blowing their coat (shedding it all out) it doesn’t hurt them to spin from them, if done right. I’m horrified that you saw a video like that, if they’re whimpering than clearly they’re being mistreated! How awful! I can assure you that with the way I do things these bunnies are not hurt at all.

How much wool can we get from one adult in one year?

Thank you for caring. I've seen some horrific videos. How people can be so cruel to gentle creatures I do not know. Thank you again.
