I thought there’s a lot of Jedi in the High Republic but sometimes I think during the prequel era the Jedi Order felt a lot smaller since most of them are killed left and right.
@@GenerationTechI dunno, the Jedi might just have recruitment limits, like when they reach a certain number they might ground the Seekers back at the Temple and give them regular duties.
@@Mr-Rinn I'm don't think so. I think the Old Republic era had way more Jedi in it's Order than any other era in Star Wars. And since the High Republic era was an era of peace, there was no reason to train as many Jedi as they did in the Old Republic.
How canon are the Jedi Service Corps under Disney? There seems to be a mention that Palpatine disbanded them via Order 66, so they seem to still exist post Reformation. Could it be that the Order of Knights is just self-limiting and all the younglings they don't take as Padawans and Knights go into their choice of service corps at one point or another.

12:20 Adding to that: Since the Jedi practice abstinence they basically don't get children. But it is known that the children of someone who is force sensitive are often strong with the force as well. So by just "collecting" those strong with the force and training them, without actually doing anything to increase the supply of new ones, they only get the ones that randomly appear. So the number "10.000" is probably the highest they can get with that strategy, and there simply aren't any more.
Small note: I don’t think Vernestra Rwoh is a Grandmaster, I think she’s a senior and respected Jedi Master, maybe even on the Council, but I don’t think there’s any evidence she’s one of the Order’s leaders. Having said that it’s not impossible either, during the High Republic Era Yoda did share the rank of Grandmaster with two other Jedi Masters.
@@joeeaster1528 she's a character from the high republic books. Her canon backstory is very established. I just haven't bothered to actually look it up lol
This is interesting, as well, because Huyang seems to indicate in Ahsoka that the training of only high m-count folks, and by implication only young children, has been happening for only “a millennium.” I suspect that at least during the Sith Wars, if not for all of history, the Jedi Order (as well as the Sith, presumably) would train basically anyone of any age group. It will be interesting to see how and why the Jedi chose to only train high m-count children. My guess is that it has something to do with the Sith discovering (rediscovering?) midichlorians and going after highly powerful-in-potential children; that the Jedi responded by trying to find, shelter, and train these kids first.
Maybe they used to recruit as many force sensitives as possible and just pushed more washed out failed trainees with low m-counts to the Jedi farm worlds or to be guardians of the wills? Eventually the order ratcheted up the minimum m count and demonstrable force powers that younger and younger children had to naturally show in order to be recruited. Without a force wielding foe, the Jedi got complacent, detached from the divisions they caused by being kidnappers, and of course the Sith of each generation would’ve influenced what they could to encourage that misalignment.
Possibly a relic from the sith wars - placing a preference onto training those with high M-count (and therefore a natural affinity to the force) Vs those who were dedicated to the jedi belief system as the Jedi needed to fast-track knights into the battlefield as we see much later in the clone wars with 12 year old padawans leading clone platoons into firefights. Probably also skews why the jedi take children at such a young age, to raise them within the order and it's ideals Vs allowing the force to guide them to the order at a later stage of life when they could consciously choose to do it.
The Jedi membership was limited by their m-count requirement, I think it's 7000, but I'm not sure if that's the current canon number. During wartime in the Old Republic they didn't have that requirement which resulted in millions of low tier Jedi and Sith.
I imagine back then they also had mandatory recruitment of force sensitives into the order. That was likely abolished after the Sith were dealt with the Republic experienced long period of peace and stability. Without a galaxy-wide threat to people's lives, most families simply stopped sending their force sensitive children to the Jedi Temple, and thus limiting the pool of new recruits.
Quality over quantity, and preserving the leadership and tradition: like said in the vid about officers being retained. Though the sensitivity is one thing, the training and dedication is certainly another. Lower M-count individuals could surpass higher M-count individuals. Seems like a bit of a blind spot for the Jedi Order - akin to statistical analysis over actual individual growth through opportunity.
The thing about the low number of Force sensitives can partly also be attributed to the Jedi's practice of not having children or families (with a small number of exceptions). Especially when we already know that Force sensitivity is congenital (see the Skywalkers, Kanan Jarrus's son Jacen Syndulla, Rey, the Dathomirians in general, etc). The small number we see is simply the general amount of randomly occurring examples. The Jedi being the only major force using society left in the galaxy means that their practice of non-procreation has removed the natural passing along of Force capabilities on a wider scale that would be expected of any other genetic capabilities.
I'm not completely sure, but I think the "washouts" in the Jedi Service corps *were* allowed to have families -- likely as a consolation for not making it to "real" Jedi-hood, especially in the Agri-corps. If so, the Jedi probably used them as unofficial breeding stock as well.
I was going to say something re the effect offorce users breeding more. That, or if you're a major character, your going to turn out to be sensitive ....or you're going to die.
One would assume that the Jedi are either hyper vigilant for smaller planets in the outer rim or there would be societies full of force users who slipped through the cracks, camped out on a isolated continent on an isolated planet somewhere and a couple hundred years later had a civilization of force sensitive people.
@Matt-yg8ub it's already happened. Mace windus home planet harrun kaal [sp?]. Pretty much all the natives can touch the force at least a bit. If you can't, odd are you wont survive the poisonous fogs. Though I'm not sure if it's been recannonized.
@@blackc1479 if that were true, the only reason the Jedi wouldn’t have basically stripped mine that planet and stolen all the inhabitants would be because the master of the order was nostalgic for his home planet?
Thanks for making this video. It would also be interesting to count given the proportion of force sensitives in a population and the total galactic population, how many force sensitives there are in average in the Galaxy
It was my understanding that that 10,000 jedi quote was about knights and didn’t include Younglings/ Padawan, but could definitely include the masters!
I don't know if it's still a canon due to... disney; but couple of pre-clone wars books and stories mentions that during the high republic era most of the planets with decent medical level made the midichlorians test on birth and then sended results of a force sensitive to a nearest jedi temple (there were more than one back than). That practice was largely abandoned due to Sith machinations around ~80 bby, and that leaded to a drastic decrease in numbers among jedi.
Maybe another reason why the Jedi numbers were so low is because most people in the galaxy were less willing to give their kids up to a weird cult that plans on turning them into space Interpol agents.
@@turabullschools2411 Even in-universe, pre-Disney, some people hated the Jedi. And not just because they are metaphysically opposed like the Sith. The Jedi Order made a note to insulate itself, which means many people around the galaxy did not understand the Jedi. And them not being perfect, if not maintaining serious flaws in their organization, also upset people - like insisting they did not need to get involved with the Mandalorian Wars... which led into the Jedi Civil War... or insisting they did need to get involved with the Clone Wars... regardless of problems the Republic was causing or valid points the Separatists may have been making...
@@Poppadop1 if they hated the Jedi pre-Disney, they never understood Star Wars. The Jedi were the good guys period. All this dystopian nihilism is just a reflection of spoiled bratism in society. Life is so good and comfortable, they need to turn reality on it's head for their pleasure.
One has to remember that following on from the end of the new sith wars, the order was recovering from massive casualties sustained during it, plus the former jedi dynasties and lord lines were done away with as was marriage and kids amongst the members of the order. Which of course would have a massive impact on the population rates amongst the jedi and keep them at a low number as they rely on finding new members out amongst the ranks of the ordinary citizens of the galaxy. Instead of normal ways of increasing population numbers.
You have to remember we learned from the very stat that the force is in everyone and made by all living things... the Jedi just chose to only focus on the most natural talented individuals to make their job easier. It was the Jedi order choice to never try and improve their training system in order to drawn in well any living being.
I believe another reason the number of jedi was around the same is during the high republic times the jedi could be more selective with those they trained, in most star wars media whenever there are times of war and such someone complains about how lax standards are for force sensitivity usually by a pureblooded sith or an old jedi.
Alan, this canon quote by Darth Sidious may be the foundation of the Acolyte show: "Since kyber crystals are naturally attuned to the light side of the Force, those who serve the dark side must follow a different path. First, they must seize a pure crystal from the lightsaber of a Jedi they have vanquished in combat-for the saber of a Sith is not given. It is taken. Then, they must infuse that crystal with their pain, anger, and hatred, bending it to their will. This corrupts the crystal, aligning it with the dark side and making it bleed with unbridled crimson power. The bleeding process can yield unpredictable results. Some crystals shatter, making their energies unstable and unpredictable. Others resist their realignment, refusing to be bent toward the darkness. Once a crystal has been properly bled, the primal power it releases becomes not only a deadly instrument in the hands of a Sith Lord, but a symbol of their true strength in the dark side." ―Darth Sidious Maybe "The Acolyte" describes the pool of potential recruits for the position of Sith Apprentice. The Sith Master keeps this pool of acolytes to ensure a high quality apprentice. We all know the Sith Master can be replaced by the Apprentice at some point when their skill gets high enough but the Apprentice can also be replaced if they're weak or if a more suitable acolyte can push them out of the position. Since an acolyte isn't a Sith yet it doesn't violate the rule of two. Maybe one of the criteria in moving up in rank is passing the test of obtaining a lightsaber from a Jedi. Notice how Mae keeps trying to grab the lightsaber when she's in combat with Indara and Sol. Then they have to bleed the crystal which means doing more Sith things as mentioned by Sidious in the quote. So maybe Qimir and Mae are both in the acolyte pool of potential recruits. A pool of people that the Sith Master "collects". The Sith, if it is one, who arrives to fight the 8 Jedi might be the Master, the Apprentice, or even an exceptional acolyte who already started the process of getting a lightsaber. The reason Mae is after the particular Jedi she targets is because she has to invoke her "pain, anger, and hatred" and pour it into the crystal in the crystal bleeding process.
I think the "killing without a weapon" has more to do with like, skill and cunning and doing it indirectly. The way Palpatine killed all the Jedi while just sitting in his office. Not in combat but just by like, manipulating events to result in the Jedi's death. Bc the thing w the kyber crystal is that's only AFTER Vader has become a Sith Lord
@@cloudmaster182 "the thing w the kyber crystal is that's only AFTER Vader has become a Sith Lord" what do you mean exactly? You're saying turning the blade red through bleeding was only done after Vader became a Sith Lord?
TLDR: because I talk way too much I think she has to prove herself as an apprentice, not an acolyte, before she's allowed to take a lightsaber and bleed it basically is what I'm trying to say nah I meant it's a rite of passage for an apprentice, not an acolyte. An acolyte defined irl as a potential student or someone w potential to BECOME a student/apprentice (strange wording). Obviously it was done before Vader's time, but I meant more that I think bleeding the crystal is something they do AFTER being selected as a Sith apprentice. not TO become one. Otherwise she could've just picked up any of the other 2 lightsabers and bled the crystals herself. Obviously any dark sider can pick up a lightsaber and bleed it if they know that technique exists. I just think it's a question of like, how the Sith operate. Sidious said to Vader "I could give u any crystal from any lightsaber out of the thousands of jedi killed, but a Sith saber is earned". Maes definitely earned a saber, but hasnt taken one. Vader was already an apprentice when he was tasked with bleeding a crystal. That's just what I'm guessing has to play out TLDR: because I talk way too much I think she has to prove herself as an apprentice, not an acolyte, before she's allowed to take a lightsaber and bleed it basically is what I'm trying to say
I don't remember where, but I definitely remember reading somewhere that the Senate dictated the number of Jedi during the Prequel era. I assume it would be the same in the High Republic era.
One thing. Simon Emanuel talks about the Acolyte times. If the jedi have suffered a lot of loses to have 10 000 members than it could have already happened(I didnt read a lot of books yet but maybe the conflict with the path of the open hand did some damage and for certain with the nihil). I heard that there were 100 000 jedi in the high republic(maybe around the phase 1 high republic books)
I think he goofed and meant to say "Master of the Order" not Grand Master. Master of the Order is the elected leader of the High Council, and was held by Mace Windu during the fall of the Jedi Order. Grand Master is the leader of the Jedi Order as a whole. Sometimes these positions were held by the same person, but Yoda probably didn't want to remain in both positions for so long.
200 years before the Phantom Menace he was one of three Jedi Grandmasters. We don’t know when he stopped sharing the role yet. So it’s not impossible, though there’s no evidence Vernestra is a Grandmaster yet.
Also keep in mind that Jedi wasn't the only order of force users in the Galaxy. Like the Dagoyan Order and the Baran Do Sages of the Kel Dor, both continue to grow in number, despite the Jedi staying at a set number. Also keep in mind the Jedi had 4 non-combatant corps Agricultural, Medical, Educational, and Exploration which we never see them. Dooku's backstory he was part of the Agricultural corp (Agri-corp) before Yoda chose him as a Padawan. That would limit their combatant number far less.
My head canon is there were considerably more Jedi, but many of them are among those who wouldn't have made the innate talent cut in the prequel era -- that as the High Republic ebbed, casualty rates increased as problems mounted, and the Order faced pressure to shrink and focus on quality, and received more Senate oversight, forcing it to keep a smaller footprint in how it interacted with regular people, and what it got involved with. Jedi doing mind tricks openly, willy nilly like on The Acolyte would eventually catch up with the Jedi Order, especially after embarrassing incidents when there was the political will for reform. Mandating subtler and rarer use of powers in most situations, with fewer numbers of overall Jedi, would also explain why even 10-15 years after the Jedi Order fell, many thought their powers were nonsense or dramatically overstated, when they're used surprisingly conspicuously -- in a way that very feels intended by the creators -- in The Acolyte. It's hard to imagine the public second guessing how 'real' the Jedi were 10-15 years later in the time of The Acolyte. It feels very much like the Order was nudged into or tried to make itself smaller literally and figuratively by the time the prequel era began, in comparison.
Coruscant looks so Blade Runner styles . Cue the dystopian dialogue. Military industry spending makes no sense if you don't take enslaved workforce . They still talk about the fall of Rome . Edited bit: I forgot to add the rise and fall of Han peoples .
Military industrial spending can also divert from civilian spending, lower standards of living, and... boom... you got your enslaved workforce, anyway.
given that force sensitivity is *extremely* rare, but also *highly* heritable - there's an obvious solution to the scarcity problem. this is probably overthinking a fictional franchise that has sort of been world-built backwards and at times haphazardly... but it really is a gaping logistical plot hole. the living force maintaining some kind of (galactic? universal?) homeostasis feels a little handwavy and is hard to reconcile with the extreme heritability shown on screen.
True, but that is not a plot hole. The Jedi Order adopts other self-defeating beliefs and policies, more in the prequels and EU, but even in the original trilogy. For example, the Jedi are supposed to be champions of life, but Luke needs to basically go off the rails to redeem his father.
@@Poppadop1 it's the other way around. the oldest and wisest jedi are straight up telling him to murderkill his dad which turns out to be wrong and unnecessary.

*Qimir* *is* *Smilo* *Ren.* This has been leaked for a few days already but it’s only stating the obvious that we all saw coming a mile (or a smilo) away. There’s a leaked photo with the helmet off and I believe that’s Mae holding a lightsaber to give back to Qimir. I wonder how Mae reacts to Qimir since the first few episodes, she does treat him like a bumbling loser. You can see Mae talk down on him. Treats him like her clumsy sidekick. Then she will discover he was her master all this time. I already expect all the haters on the Internet to trash that reveal saying they saw that reveal coming from a mile (or a smilo) away. How the writers are so stupid making it so obvious. I would’ve preferred if Qimir was a red herring and Smilo Ren was someone we haven’t seen yet, but alas, it’s as predictable as it comes. Now is Smilo Ren/Darth Venom/Qimir the acolyte, apprentice, or the master? That Force push was pretty strong for him to only be an acolyte. As for the Star Wars fandom, is it really fandom if you truly hate it or mock it all the time? I think The Acolyte is overHATED as I don’t feel it deserves a 13% audience score. Is it really worse than The Rings of Power S1 with Galadriel acting like a Mary Sue and Karen? Is it worse than She-Hulk: Attorney of Law where the writers had no clue of She-Hulk’s origin story since they never read the comics? Did we see Mae and Osha twerking next to Aniseya? 🤣 I was reading a comment on Thor Skywalker and it was saying how grifters/extremists makes a nice profit if they’re basing their channels on hate/cancel culture. Look at The Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic full of hating if it happens to be WOKE. I think both sides are morons, the shills and the grifters/haters. The WOKE and the anti-WOKE are ruining people’s enjoyment to watch stuff. The more negative it is, the higher the clicks. Star Wars Theory who used to be about talking Star Wars. Now he’s becoming a grifter like The Critical Drinker since they do live chats all the time. While TCD needs to be careful not to always sound toxic with his reviews because he’s directing a short feature. He doesn’t want to alienate the Hollywood industry he mocks. It’s why Chris Stuckmann went completely soft and can no longer be considered a critic. He will no longer CRITICize bad movies. The haters just want to be funny. The worst the show is, the funnier these UA-camrs will try to be. But I will say The Acolyte hasn’t lived up to my low expectations. The Boys had an Episode 4 and House of the Dragon had an Episode 2 I thoroughly enjoyed. What good episode has The Acolyte given us? Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada. No bueno. And I’m not sure Episode 5 is going to save it with that very predictable reveal. I say to THINK FOR YOURSELF. Form your own opinion. You never let anybody do that for you in this social media beehive mentality we live in. Don’t hate or enjoy something because someone else does it. I follow Tyrone Magnus but I don’t always agree with his opinions and he’s a Trumper like me. I think mocking movies started with How It Should Have Ended which started in 2005 before most of us started using UA-cam. Then Honest Trailers in 2012 and Pitch Meeting in 2017. Originally, Will Jordan’s UA-cam channel didn’t start off as him as “The Critical Drinker.” He found his niche once he bashed The Last Jedi in 2017 (which I think everyone did) and he’s never looked back since from that niche he found. He’s even more malicious than Siskel & Ebert from 1986-1999 until Gene Siskel’s death in 1999. But Will takes the mocking humor from Honest Trailers and Ryan George’s Pitch Meeting. Find the false logic from the movie’s story and mock the hell out of it. Since 2017, the trend of mocking Star Wars or anything bad from Disney or mainstream Hollywood began. Hating, cancel culture, anti-WOKE, and parody accounts are a good business for them. The more negative, the higher the views. Add more facepalms in those thumbnails like Unbox Therapy has done for years. Most people on the Internet want to bash someone or something, not praise them. Hate humor: that’s what they all aim for. I can understand the hatred towards The Acolyte. I saw Furiosa for the 5th time yesterday and I think it’s a modern classic. While not as great as Fury Road and maybe not as great as Mad Max 2, it’s still a helluva movie. My favorite movie of this summer so far. The pacing and action are relentless. Barely any time for quiet conversations. Furiosa is a box office flop led my a female not named Max, but I still enjoyed it. So I’m not being sexist if I think The Acolyte sucks if I enjoyed Furiosa. I think the WOKE crowd are calling viewers sexists or racists as an excuse to defend a bad product like The Acolyte. While the anti-WOKE crowd might be too extreme with their hatred but they will still watch it weekly anyway so they can generate those views when they make a video mocking it. I also think the WOKE stuff in it is why The Acolyte never got a fair shake. Was never given a chance from the start. Lesyle or should I spell it Lez-lie? Haters wanted to hate it before it ever premiered once Nerdrotic pointed out “space lesbians” after the trailers dropped. They wanted The Acolyte to fail from the start and it has. There’s excuse making from one side and then there’s overhating from the other side. I will watch Episode 5 tonight but if it sucks again like Episode 1-4 has been, I’ll stop watching it. I don’t need to waste anymore time finishing the series if I think it sucks. Favorite Movie/TV Series of the Summer 1. House of the Dragon S2 2. The Boys S4 (moved up after Ep. 4) 3. Furiosa (favorite movie of the summer) 4. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 5. Bad Boys: Ride or Die The Boys S4 has also got it’s share of anti-WOKE criticisms even though The Boys has always been political since S2. Audience score is at *52%* rotten. But since The Acolyte is so bad, The Boys S4 doesn’t generate as much attention for having a low audience score. I’m giving The Boys S4 about a B so far, so it’s at 85%. S4 is better than S2 but not S1 or S3. House of the Dragon S2 currently has a 92% audience score. It’s safe even with Black actors casted for white roles. Baela and Rhaena being Black and being Daemon’s daughters looks weird to me. But I digress because the production values, writing, and acting are all excellent. The same things can’t be said for The Acolyte. Is it 13% bad? No. More like 50% bad but not 13%. I give it a 6.5 which is 65% because I’m quite forgiving.
Not to mention. Padmé was born and buried on Naboo and Vader would often make a pilgrimage there to see her. Meanwhile, he absolutely despised Tattooine.
Interesting information. I assume that it would also be different numbers if the Jedi order had different standars on how powerfull theyre recruits should be with the force. Like if they could create a "Militia Jedi" or "Light Jedi" in times of crises with those individuals who usually just not made the cut. J.
While I appreciate the work done, I think that there is a much simpler explanation than the living force curtailing the number of force sensitives, two actually. Since Jedi don't have children high midichlorian counts are not passed down. And since it's been peacetime recruitment policy is much higher standard than wartime. The Clone wars did not last long enough to see major changes but if it had gone 10-15 more years I would actually predict long term growth as standards drop to replenish lost ranks.
Also since training begins at a very young age, and the fact that I doubt most of the Republic's citizens were willing to part with their kids and never get to see them again. I imagine a few middle class families, perhaps even a few affluent families living in Coruscant would be more receptive to the idea. But its likely only very poor families that want to give their children a better life would even consider giving up their force sensitive children to the order, and that's even assuming they are found at the correct minimum age. Because remember, Anakin was considered "too old" to start his training as a Jedi at the age of only ten.
I don't think Master Rowe is a grand master, unless that was stated somewhere. According to the high republic comics Yoda and 2 other masters were given the rank of GM in like 230BBY onwards, so Yoda would atleast be one of those as of the Acolyte show, again maybe I'm missing something that Alan knows that I don't but i thought i'd point it out
while you're talking about military spending in Europe, i would like to point out that 30 countries from Europe is part of NATO, and 20 of those said 30 have less than 2% of GDP spending in military, while NATO requies 2% at minimum
Clarification, NATO does not require member states to spend any money on militarily strengthening the alliance. You are referring to the 2014 agreement to spend 2% of their GDP on their own militaries but an agreement is not a requirement. Also your numbers are incorrect. As of June 12, 26 of the 32 members are spending their agreed upon amount. Adding onto this point, all nations but the United States and Croatia have increased their spending since the 2014 agreement.
I think reformation set up weakness that end up with clone wars. Since republic lack central military the Jedi become the military force. it why the Jedi got trap in the clone wares. also count dooku was also bait. Become once it found out he was a Sith it would be very hard for Jedi to stay out of it.
Estimates of habitable planets in our galaxy rage from a conservative 300 million to an inconceivable tens of billions. Assuming the Star Wars galaxy is roughly the same size, we use the minimum estimate, and the Jedi did their best to collect all force users, that works out to roughly... One force user for every 30,000 planets. Truly the force spreads itself thin.
We all like to think the best of jedi. The fight never ends. Much like life. Jedi life lesson is be in the moment rather than one's existence. Yeah jedi.
With roughly a quadrillion people in the whole galaxy, I feel like there should be a few million Jedi, but it seems finding force sensitive kids is harder than you think.
Another factor could be that most people in the Republic weren't willing to give their children up to be wards of the Jedi, especially when they are at a very young age and likely never be able to see them again. I could be wrong, but I am very certain that the Jedi are not allowed to conscript babies or toddlers into the order against their family's will. Most families likely would not be willing to part with their force sensitive children, whereas only the most desperate and poor that wanted to give them a better life would.
@@barbiquearea I think the Jedi would take the kids, no matter what, because untrained force users would be a danger to themselves and others and very likely to fall to the dark side. They would tell the parents this, which probably convinced most.
The low number could be due (in many parts) to a prolonged knock-on effect from the sith wars. Its possible yhat the jedi were once far more open to who they traind (age, level of force connectivness etc.), so long as thr force guided them to the order (i mean, why argue with the force?). But then the splintering off of, and the subsequent wars with thr sith changed their priorities - suddenly spending a lot of time to 1-on-1 training of someone who has as much force sesitivity as a sea sponge, but who trully believes in the jedi belifes (and who could one day achieve thr rank and skill of a frand master) was seen as wasteful as the jedi needed knights on the battlefield asap. So they focussed on M-count to fast track training. As they were fast tracking they couldnt depend on individuals with above normal to hig M-counts to come to the order "by the will of the force" (especially with a plethora of other force relgions spread across thr gaalxy), so they went out into the galaxy, found children who could be taught (indoctrination) the jedi ways and fast tracked them to the battlefield. Following the sith wars the jedi re-assessed their methods (and casualty numbers) and likely decided that they should only train those with high M-counts as they seemed to do better. This, of course, shrunk the orders numbers, but also created an arbitrary line by which force chikdren were selected. We see innthe high republic that even those who had hreat natural talent could be dismissed by the order because their M-count was too low. It also pissed-off other recognised (and unrecognised) force religions in the galaxy as a) the jedi were the only ones who could officially train force sensitives and had republic support to take high M-count children from families living within other force religions, and b) those who had the belife and will to become great jedi knights yet were not allowed to due to their low m-count (sea sponge level) found their ways to other religions (such as the guardians/diciples of the whils) who, whilst happy to work with the jedi also viewed them as elitist... Which they were. If this were the case, the funny thing (and possibly a crux in the fall of the jedi) is that the millennium of peace that marked the end of the sith wars and the high reoublic in its.entirety would have been tthe. Ost opportune time for.the jedi to return to teaching those who wanted to join the order no matter their skill - they literally had the time (although they probanly didnt know it at the moment) to dedicate themselves to 1-on-1 teaching, which would have opened the order up the the whole galaxy "you to can become a jedi!", yet sticking tk sith war M-count determination limited them to roughly 10,000.
It would make sense that the Jedi kept a certsin amount of active members. Like younstated. The cosmic force will maintain balance so there might only be a certain amount of force sensitives born every generation, especially if Jedi themselves aren't procreating with each other.
Did Luke or Jabba have TV They seemed pretty informed. How. Come in never see grocery stores in star wars just open air markets. How sci-fi concepts don't fit in that sci-fi series
100 quadrillion people in the galaxy, wow! Some math shows that with 10,000 Jedi that's 1 Jedi for every 10 trillion galactic citizens. Or roughly 1 Jedi for every 1200 Earth-sized planets.
What if it the Republic itself limits the Jedi numbers? If there are Sith in the Senate, i could see the Sith wanting to jeep the Jedi below a certain number.
If the Force tries to keep a constant number of Force sensitives in the Galaxy, there's going to be a lot of _untrained_ Force users born once the Empire falls. And what about after TROS, is Rey going to single-handedly track down and train about 10,000 Force sensitive kids?
Well they don't have kids, and limit themselves to only training infants. Look how many Jedi that Luke was able to train up in just a decade by ignoring that these limits. Not to mention the Army of Light was able to maintain a small army by just grabbing anybody they could find.
I hope Disney and authors are able to write new sequels, and announce them in new series for the return of galactic empire with choosing 1 of 2 options beside the new rise of “Gray” Jedi Order. (1) the reborn of Darth Sidious ( aka Palpatine) after his ultimate defeat in new movie. Subsequently, he successfully reborn into new body ( maybe his other clones or his descendants in his pedigree ). (2) or at least descendants in his bloodline, even the son or daughter of his daughter in theory or just another biological kinships can be considered for presumably declaring as new heir of GE and being the new leader of all empire’s remnants. These options only serve for the purpose to save and reclaim the throne of galactic empire for the new future of entire SW galaxy.

Competent not-jedi like Ahsoka can make anyone a jedi with a little training so the jedi could have had millions of full jedi if they weren't the failures disney lore shows them to be. Of course Luke and Emo Ren would have just killed them all somehow so whatever.

Your background game is on point
There's a definite pun here. Both meanings are true.
I think she is master of the order like windu was , while yoda was Grandmaster
She also could be the leader of a different council, not necessarily the high council. There were a few, not many though.
Yea she's def not Grandmaster, or all these meetings would be happening in the council chambers
I think you are half right. I think she is the master/grandmaster of an outer rim Jedi force. Kind of like a Marine Expedentiary Unit for Jedi.

Good use of the rebuilt Hohenzollern Bridge and the cathedral in Cologne as an illustration. Makes for a strong contrast to that same area in 1945.
If it was exclusively in a book, it was *never* canon, before or after Disney. Per George himself.

Hi there, I just wanted to say how shocked I was when I saw Wrocław included in Alan's video 😮 have a nice day everyone ^^
3:32 Quite the understatement tbh considering its like as big as the budgets of the US's ten closest competitors combined-
One has to remember that following on from the end of the new sith wars, the order was recovering from massive casualties sustained during it, plus the former jedi dynasties and lord lines were done away with as was marriage and kids amongst the members of the order. Which of course would have a massive impact on the population rates amongst the jedi and keep them at a low number as they rely on finding new members out amongst the ranks of the ordinary citizens of the galaxy. Instead of normal ways of increasing population numbers.
I thought around the high republic the number of Jedi was around 100,000. The numbers around the Jedi number around 10,000. Inquiring
I actually really like the way they design the Jedi Temple with less building compared to when we see it in the Phantom Menace a hundred years later?
That background is so cool😊
Once a crystal has been properly bled, the primal power it releases becomes not only a deadly instrument in the hands of a Sith Lord, but a symbol of their true strength in the dark side." ―Darth Sidious
Maybe "The Acolyte" describes the pool of potential recruits for the position of Sith Apprentice.
TLDR: because I talk way too much I think she has to prove herself as an apprentice, not an acolyte, before she's allowed to take a lightsaber and bleed it basically is what I'm trying to say
nah I meant it's a rite of passage for an apprentice, not an acolyte. That's just what I'm guessing has to play out
TLDR: because I talk way too much I think she has to prove herself as an apprentice, not an acolyte, before she's allowed to take a lightsaber and bleed it basically is what I'm trying to say

It’s like the US National Guard of the 90s vs the experienced hardened military branch of the 2000s
Bro, you were right!
Vernestra Rwoh isnt the grand master that would be yoda, its only 100 years before the phantom menace
@@Mr-Rinn can you link a source for that claim

2,000 younglings… damn Anakin had a lot of work 😦
Vernestra Rwoh (played Headland's wife Rebecca Henderson) is the Sith Lord. Smiley is the acolyte.
I like Coruscant outside your window.
The thumbnail looks like it says "Scooby - Looby"
For those who came from the post or just don't care about anything before 11:48 there are only around 10,000 jedi left.

given that force sensitivity is *extremely* rare, but also *highly* heritable - there's an obvious solution to the scarcity problem. this is probably overthinking a fictional franchise that has sort of been world-built backwards and at times haphazardly... but it really is a gaping logistical plot hole.
the living force maintaining some kind of (galactic? universal?) homeostasis feels a little handwavy and is hard to reconcile with the extreme heritability shown on screen.
there are good reasons why jedis are forbidden to have children, maybe you get why.
True, but that is not a plot hole. The Jedi Order adopts other self-defeating beliefs and policies, more in the prequels and EU, but even in the original trilogy. For example, the Jedi are supposed to be champions of life, but Luke needs to basically go off the rails to redeem his father.

I was reading a comment on Thor Skywalker and it was saying how grifters/extremists makes a nice profit if they’re basing their channels on hate/cancel culture.

The Boys S4 has also got it’s share of anti-WOKE criticisms even though The Boys has always been political since S2.
Mandalorian S1, Ep4. Time, 19:20
Something nice there.
why did obi one go to Tatooine which is in the outer rim away from the mid rim where they are on naboo
They needed to get away from planets aligned with the Trade Federation. Tatooine was the closest unaligned planet and it was sparsely populated.
Grand master Oogway. 🤣 OMG I'm dyin!
Vernestra is not the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order. She is just a higher ranking master than any of the others we see.
How come we don't see Journalist in star wars
That's an interesting question
What about the HoloNet? (I mean the in-universe HoloNet, BTW. Like in TCW and, especially, Rebels).
Yord is Jar-jar in Acolyte
The Mandalorian War and Jedi Civil War permanently reduced the number of Jedi in the galaxy.
Man the acolyte is so much worse now that i know HOTD is back.
I think reformation set up weakness that end up with clone wars. Since republic lack central military the Jedi become the military force. it why the Jedi got trap in the clone wares. also count dooku was also bait. Become once it found out he was a Sith it would be very hard for Jedi to stay out of it.
"It has inches"
Estimates of habitable planets in our galaxy rage from a conservative 300 million to an inconceivable tens of billions. Assuming the Star Wars galaxy is roughly the same size, we use the minimum estimate, and the Jedi did their best to collect all force users, that works out to roughly... One force user for every 30,000 planets. Truly the force spreads itself thin.
When was vernestra made grand master?
Why do you live right across from a Taco Bell
Is Vernestra Grand Master though?
Alan! How much did you pay for that Coruscant apartment?
So the Grand Master isn't the 800 year-old Yoda?
Ah the blockade days, good times. Good times
I can see why it would be easy to beleive jedi are evil.. no one has seen one.. only hearsay.. what? Like 1 jedi per planet?
If the Force tries to keep a constant number of Force sensitives in the Galaxy, there's going to be a lot of _untrained_ Force users born once the Empire falls.
And what about after TROS, is Rey going to single-handedly track down and train about 10,000 Force sensitive kids?
Well they don't have kids, and limit themselves to only training infants. Look how many Jedi that Luke was able to train up in just a decade by ignoring that these limits. Not to mention the Army of Light was able to maintain a small army by just grabbing anybody they could find.
I’m like why is Alan commenting on Hobby Lobby
I would prefer Undocumented strand cast clones of the Palpatine bloodline come into play rather than Palpatine himself returning, let him rest 😂
@@MysticTroll If I am a Disney manager related to Star Wars movie operation, I would like to get him up on another sequel, digging more deeper into “ the game” of the Sith Cult to rule galaxy once more, then revealing how powerful of a Sith Lord can be for achieving immortality and arrogantly standing against all kind of Death before absolutely dismantling to die in all way of conceptualization even the molecular level :))))
That can be a supremacy tactic for exploiting more money for “ greater good” :))) yeah
And That is only appropriate approach for our Darth Sidious can be rest in peace. :))))😂😂
@@MysticTroll and after that, I would be able to glad to announce new updated trilogy for fan for acknowledgment about “ The true Heir” of Emperor Palpatine in all way of thinking and acting rather than picking up new “bulls*t” Sith Lord in the latest movie:)))
Once again it's clearly a fault in the horrible Jedi order. Competent not-jedi like Ahsoka can make anyone a jedi with a little training so the jedi could have had millions of full jedi if they weren't the failures disney lore shows them to be.
Of course Luke and Emo Ren would have just killed them all somehow so whatever.
I think it was a bad idea that the Galatic Republic to disband their military they should just sifted a large amount of the funs away form it and divided up amoung more member areas’, social programs and other important needs for the public need.
Those Jedi were not out of shape. They were body positive.
😒😒😒Grumble Grumble
Jedi's are keepers of the peace, not soldiers.
the acolyte isn't cannon so none of this matters.
