    The entire B-roll of this video (with the exception of the part where I film both Olympus cameras and the "4th Benefit: Extensive Range of Lenses") was filmed in 4K/24p using the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III, set in its Color Profile named "Natural" .

    the Olympus OMD EM-10 M111 pared with Olympus 40-150mm 1:4 - 5.6 R lens gives me amazing results. This lense was recommended as the first purchase to compliment the kit lense. Great bokeh ( sharp foreground and blured background )

      Yes, I have the 40-150mm f/4-5.6 R, a good lens; and, when paired with the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III we get great results!

    My one and only camera. Up to about 8 M4/3 lens. You don’t need a bigger sensor or camera or more expensive. Spend your money on the great selection of M4/3 lens.

    I have an older E-M5ii. I love the picture and build quality of it. I shoot it in jpeg only and I couldn’t be more satisfied with it. I just discovered something else about it, and my guess is it’s probably as good if not better on the E-M10iii. The high ISO picture quality is really good. I mean like 10,000 ISO. So, if you’re shooting indoors at night like a party where there’s enough light, but it’s still low light for a camera sensor, the Olympus ( at least my E-M5ii anyway) is really good at 10,000 ISO. My Fuji’s are terrible, especially skin. People’s skin just looks like wax. Not on the Olympus. The catch is though there has to be enough light on your subject. If there just isn’t enough light, does’t matter the scene, it’s going to look bad no matter what. The Olympus cameras are so underrated.

    Yes, thanks. I totally agree with you my friend. One week ago, I bought a second camera, Canon R10. Because my Olympus E-M10m3 14-42 kit lens was broken and I want to experience new AF systems in Sony or Canon bodies because the autofocus system in E-M10m3 is can be a bit slow in immediate actions. But now I feel a little upset for not playing with my Oly E-M10m3 like in the past one year. I have bought my Olympus E-M10m3 second hand it was like new condition. I plan selling the Olympus after buying Canon R10 but now, I feel very upset if I sell this little gem. So with a pancake lens I'll keep my E-M10m3 for street or documentary photography and I'm planning Canon R10 for action moments. By the way, type c and charging with type-c, ext. mic input, weather sealing and fast AF were missing points for me while I'm using Olympus E-M10m3. With Canon R10 these missing points thanks to God solved perfectly.

      @cameraexplorations  Рік тому +1

      Once you have an E-M10 M3, it's tough to part with - its appearance, compact size, and excellent controls create a strong connection. I am also not planning to sell mine. If you happen to come across the Olympus 17mm f/1.8 pancake lens, you won't want to let it go - ideal for street photography. While the Olympus camera may not focus super fast, the Canon R10 will solve this issue (excellent camera btw) - it makes for a great companion alongside your E-M10 M3. Enjoy using them!

      Thank you so much for your great insight. After watching your video. I took my Olympus E-M10m3 near with me to feel one more time how an attractive design this beauty has 😀 . I hope I can find a 17 mm pancake, here in my country amazon sells 20 mm Panasonic pancake but reviewer says it focuses a bit slow and noisy so I prefer to wait to come across an Olympus pancake lens to combine with it @@cameraexplorations

      @cameraexplorations  Рік тому +2

      I think waiting for the Olympus 17mm f/1.8 is a good idea. It's a nicely designed lens, just like the well-designed E-M10 M3 camera. Plus, it focuses completely silently. Glad I could help!

      Yes as you mentioned the auto focus is a little to slow. I solved this to buy E-5 Mark III with a 45 MM lens for a good price. The advantage is also to use all the MFT lenses you have. In nature I use OMD 5 III with the tele and the E-M10 with the wide range lenses. The E-M5 Mark III is also fast enough for street photography. So I 'm a happy MFT user.

    I had the camera for about one week. Quirky setup where you need to set a function button to enable focus peeking. Enable the the button in one menu, set the color in another, and never found the setting for intensity. Put it up for sale and happy to get my money back. If you like to shoot with vintage lens or manual focus, maybe look elsewhere ??

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations  7 місяців тому +4

      This being said, maybe the E-M10 Mark III is not the best option when it comes to using vintage lenses, that require manual focus - especially if more intensity is needed on focus peaking. Thank you for your comment - it will be useful for someone that wants to use vintage lenses!

    I have this camera and am trying to shoot video with it, but the on-camera mic sucks. however, there is no 3.5mm jack to connect an external shotgun mic to it. how can i use an external mic with this camera? it only has micro usb an micro hdmi ports on it.

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations  2 місяці тому +1

      The only way is to use an external recorder, sync the audio in a video editor, and then delete the sound coming from the E-M10 Mark III. Unfortunately, it's an entry-level camera and doesn't have a 3.5mm jack. Only the more expensive mid-range and high-end Olympus models feature the jack.

    The mark II is better IMO than the III because it is more customisable, but, that aside, I totally agree that the em-10 is a great camera. I have two mark IIs, having sold my mark III. So my advice is : check out both models.

    • @chrisseeker1
      @chrisseeker1 Рік тому

      I don't know about current technology BUT what is clear is that the mkii is by far the most customisable. There maybe better colour technology or more pixels and if you don't want or need custom settings, then maybe later models are better with better grip. None of cameras are anything other than excellent

    Silly question here, does it have a silent shutter? I'm looking for a camera to take photos of wildlife

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations  5 місяців тому

      That is a good question, actually. Even though I haven't had the need to use a silent shutter, it is useful for wildlife photography. After reading online and trying to activate silent shooting on this camera, I stumbled upon something called 'Anti-Shock,' which should do the trick. I tried it out, but it doesn't solve the issue-the shutter is as loud as when using the 'normal' mode. The E-M10 Mark III has some menu limitations that the E-M10 Mark II didn't have. In conclusion, the Mark III doesn't allow for silent shutter/silent shooting. If anyone has more to add, please do so in the comments section, but based on my findings, this camera model does not have a silent mode.

    Am si eu un M10 mark III, recent am reusit sa-i schimb singur flex cablu de la display ca tot se intrerupea la rabatari. Am pana acuma obiectivul de kit 14-42, am mai luat un 25 mm de 1,7 . Ma gandesc sa iau si un obiectiv 12-60 mm care are un zoom de 5x mi se pare mai ieftin si bun la multe. Ce parere aveti de acest obiectiv?

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations  11 місяців тому

      Pentru faptul ca ai reusit (de unul singur) sa schimbi cablul, felicitari! Obiectivul lumix 12-60mm e la fel de luminos ca un Zuiko 14-42mm, f/3.5-f/5.6, deci nu foarte bun in conditii slabe de iluminare; dar mai bun la acest aspect: da access la un unghi mai larg, la 12mm (24mm echivalentul full frame) si la 60mm (120mm echivalentul full frame), considerabil mai mult decat obiectivul Zuiko. In plus, 12-60-ul este si rezistent la intemperii. Acestea fiind spuse, eu, personal, as vinde 14-42-ul si as lua un 12-60-ul - e bun.

    Hello, so it not being able to do moving subjects in low light means one couldn’t record live shows or do long exposures with great results?

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations  8 місяців тому

      Hello! Absolutely, you can! I see that you've identified an error from 1:20 to 1 46. Indeed, I made a mistake. Unfortunately, I omitted a few words: "As long as you're not capturing moving subjects + (what should have been added:) With The Intent To Freeze The Action." This omission occurred in a UA-cam video where I discuss why I appreciate a MFT camera. In that segment, I'm defending it against those who prioritize larger sensors and overlook MFT. It's important to note that the video focuses on the Olympus E-M10 M3, rather than serving as a tutorial on low-light photography or videography. I apologize for the oversight and I appreciate that you brought it up. Thank you!

      @BoxOfShockolates 8 місяців тому

      @@cameraexplorations thank you for your in depth response. I’m still learning about photography, so I will have more newbie language & questions. By “with the intent to freeze the action”, are you basically saying one won’t be able to do stop motion in low light situations with this camera? I’m shopping around for cameras & it’s a daunting process, because I’m doing my head in wondering about what features I’d need, because of ignorance. I have a lot to learn & just worry about FOMO with features. It’s such a huge investment & idk enough to know any better about what would be best camera wise. I have an Olympus Om-1 MD film camera & because I’m tired of wrecking my brain with looking into cameras, I’m just thinking staying with the same system is better. And leaning towards mirrorless since DSLR is a dying breed. I don’t want to consider Canon, Nikon or Sony at all. I’m finding Olympus to be the best kept secret & honestly more of a bargain. I’m honestly open to any tips you’d be willing to offer. Feel free to ask me clarifying questions. Thank you.

    • @cameraexplorations
      @cameraexplorations  8 місяців тому

      You can freeze the action in low light with an Olympus E-M10 Mark III by selecting short shutter speeds (1/200, 1/250...), but image quality will deteriorate since high ISOs are necessary (ISO 3200, ISO 6400...). Photography is a vast subject, and covering it thoroughly in text would be time-consuming. What could be helpful in this situation is having a friend who is an experienced photographer that you can talk to face-to-face (this is what helped me in 2008 when I was starting out). My final advice: don't stress too much about missing out on certain camera features - a camera is a tool, and if it's good enough, it's fine. The most important thing is to enjoy photography. If you want to continue with Olympus, simply get an E-M10 Mark III with an Olympus 17mm f/1.8 prime lens - it's a nice option in my opinion. Once again, the most important thing is to enjoy photography. All the best!

      Hi! It's nice to hear you own this camera. Regarding how to use it, it's similar to any other camera: there are two dials on the top-right side for changing the aperture and shutter speed; the big mode dial is close to the flash hot shoe, and the quick menu button, also on top, on the left side. Everything important is there and accessible. As long as you know how to set a camera, it's the same thing with this one. If you don't know how to set it, just leave it on Auto (the green icon on the Mode Dial). Regarding lenses, the kit lens should do fine for tourist purposes (I also use it when I'm traveling). Other than this, you'll need a fully charged battery, an SD card, and you are good to go. Unfortunately, my time is limited, but I've summarized everything here. All the best!

      @cameraexplorations  11 місяців тому +1

      Since you're on a tight budget and this camera offers In-Body Image Stabilization and 4K video recording, it should get the job done. Just remember that the lens is as important as the camera itself. I recommend getting a prime Olympus 17mm lens for dark environments. An external mobile light source might be needed and (for sure) some extra batteries for the camera. All the best!
