  • This is the updated video with the correct part numbers.
    In this video Rob and I unbox and run the Losi DBXL-E 2.0 for the first time. This 5th scale vehicle is huge and impressive to behold. We go over what you get if you purchase one, plus, we also go over the car before we blast. After showing the running footage of the testing, we bring it back and explain what happened, how it ran, and the cost of the repairs. After that, we give our overall rating and our final thoughts. After the credits. Stick around as the blooper reel happens than. Thanks for checking this out. AJ

    Ive been in this hobby for 37 years now, and have watched a TON of rc content on youtube... and I have to say your channel is one of the best out there. So much better than the guy who just "retired" if you know what I'm saying! Keep it up!

    I've been on an RC binge for two days since I decided to get into the sport or hobby. After watching many presenters each of varying degrees effectiveness, I'm very impressed by your approach: your presentation is easy to follow because its structured i.e. unbox it, explain its pros and cons, run at in OEM spec through diverse abusive terrain, assess it, recommend changes and rate it using logical metrics. Well done.

      Thank you for your comment. We here find the content building (the tech side) and editing (Music video side) fun and exciting to do. The bashing is cool, of course, but making an exciting video is even more rewarding than pulling off a triple backflip with a 5th scale monster. It's the people like you who let us know how we are doing that make it all worth while. We are glad you enjoy it, and thanks again. 😎👍

      Thank you for the kind words. As far a s subs go, our channel is barely 6 months old. Getting the word out does take time, but our numbers are growing daily. There is definitely a lot more content on the way. Growth can b a bit slow, as audio ands video equipment takes time to accumulate. THIS IS A GREAT CHANNEL TO LEARN THE PRO'S & CON'S OF AN RC!!! As an instructor in Vocational Industrial Technology & Engineering the content is "spot on" because it addresses the strengths & weaknesses of what works & what doesn't make the grade , as well as POTENTIAL & EXPECTED problems. It's a heads-up for upgrades relevant to SPECIFIC situations. All topics are precise & to the point!! I use RCs as teaching materials & online videos in my classes to stimulate interest in upgrades, as well as developing diagnostic mentalities with "hands=on" actual experiences... which can be used in their future professional & associative endeavors. AJ & his video channel are as good as any instructional class rooms & book materials out there. It is succinct, holds one's interest, & makes learning fun. Videos like these help us avoid costly purchasing mistakes which are seldom taught in classrooms!!!

    • @besenwieslersepp1011
      @besenwieslersepp1011 3 роки тому +1

      I forgot: If you get rid of the BEC extension, you can turn down the BEC-current on 6v. Losi set it higher. I guess to compensate the resistance of that long/thin cable. And if you use a short end of the extension cable, solder a capacitor on it and put it in any free slot of the tuner, you have a perfect stable BEC-circout.

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  3 роки тому +1

      I use a mix of Diff oil and silicone ear plugs to get the resistance I'm looking for. I find it to be cheaper and more adjustable without prying your wallet open each time you want to rework your diffs. It takes a bit of patience, to be sure, as it may take a few attempts to get the resistance your looking for, but it works; that much I can attest to. At the moment, I'm working of the video which explains this procedure. Also, I have shown the tire venting in several of my videos, but in short: I use a Dremel tool with a 1/8th inch bit in it. Choose three locations along the center line of the tread and perforate each location, cleaning a small hole in each. Be careful and be patient, for the tool can be a bit grabby if you contact the tread and not the skin of the tire. Then, tape off the inner holes of the wheel to seal off the wheels from allowing dirt and debris inside the tires. Remount the wheels on your car and there you have it. I hope this helps. AJ

      @sandmasher 3 роки тому

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  3 роки тому

      The DBXL-E is huge. It 5th scale and weighs in at around 30 pounds with batteries. As far as comparing it to your truck, I can’t say at the moment, for I don’t own one of those. However, I do own a Lasernut, and it’s cool. It’s big for a 10th scale car, check my review on that, but super durable. As I like to say, go check them out if you can and see which one speaks to you. I can tell you this, however, the DB pro is 3s, while the Lasernut is 4s. Also, the pro is geared more toward track racing than bashing; if that helps. Best of luck, AJ

Truck makes sharp rights turns, but left turn are wider. Plus it needs more braking power. Can't really adjust steering travel with the stock radio. True. But strong inside and pliable outside is the way we like to do things. If we can beef up the chassis components that’s what we do. We would rather have an arm fail than bend a chassis. Not quite 100 years old but I am freakin old. Which means…wait for it…I was born a long time ago. Imagine that.😁

    no wonder you brake things. In the cold they brake much faster. I dont like Traxxas does not matter how good the cars are. But the xmaxx is though. Still my favourite cars are, Notorious, DBXL E and then outcast 8S.

      Up here we have to run cold, but if it holds up here, they're tough. Thanks for the comment. AJ
