very interesting video, strange case of uneven temps on vents, glad to hear you fixed it, thanks fir sharing 👍
My pleasure.
Can't believe I've found the exact info I was looking for! Thanks for the video
My pleasure.
No kidding! 2000 323i owner here
Someone’s gotta keep these old cars running. New cars are too damn expensive!
great problem description, diagnosis and fix. nicely documented. thanks for sharing
My pleasure.
In this video I can see you have the console vent position set to cold (blue) when pointing that digital thermo reader! Great video on how to change and check the heater valve though.
Yes, I realized that afterwards but forgot to reshoot the video. Thanks for the comment.
Nice one cheers, I am replacing the heater control valve on my E46 M3 so have the version with 2 solenoid pumps, same job and seeing the use of the c clamp was really genius as saves having to do a coolant flush and extra faff/mess.
Cheers!
Happy to help.
I am to lol tomorrow
One of those 2 hoses that come through the valve is leaking. Do you have a DIY on replacing them?
No, I do not but just probably need to take off the hose clamps to remove it and then get a new one and refill with coolant.
Thanks for the vid! What's freon?
Air Conditioner refrigerant.
What hose is the that was on top of the actuator that you moved? ( you mentioned its a vaccum hose) where is that connects too? Pls help.
If I recall that's the hose that goes to the purge valve which is attached under the right side of the intake. The other end connects to a hard line that goes back to the charcoal canister.
I see. For some reason mine is off and Been tryna figure out where it connects. Since i saw your video and saw it you moved it. Gabe me an idea.
great video.... does Heat control valve also responsible for cold air? ...from SOUTH AFRICA
No, it only controls the hot coolant going through the heater core.
Do you need to bleed the coolant system after replacing the valve?
I lost very little coolant so I just drove the car and checked the reservoir and topped it up over the next few days. If you lose a lot of coolant you will need to bleed the air out.
I have constant 12v and ground at connector even with car off?
I don’t have the electrical schematics to say what the ignition off default should be but it sounds like you have a short in your 12v feed somewhere.
Did You solve the problem with temperature diffrence in vents?
Yes. The refrigerant was low.
@@JRsGarage Thank You very much for answer🤠🥰. Greetings!
Can this cause pressure to blow the expansion hose
No, that might be a blockage in your expansion tank causing it to not vent properly.
My value is not heating up does it mean it's bad?
It could be, but it also could be the signal is not getting to the valve to open. Did you check the fault codes?
@@JRsGarage no but will do thank you sir
