Man, weren't we blessed in the late 90's & early 2000's with LEGENDS like this...Daft Punk, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Stardust, Moloko, Junior Jack, Paul Van Dyk, Moby, Modjo, Justice, Armand Van Helden, Snap, Groove Armada, Faithless...the list goes on...and we still here listening ❤️❤️❤️
@@dylanrees-coshan5941 nice, I respect that alot! great to know not all the younger generation are listening to mumble rap or other crappy music that's mainstream nowadays.
I think this song has aged so well because nothing really sounds like it. The instrumentation is bizarre! It just blows my mind to think it's 21 years old.
@@RonOliversghost I (kinda) get your point but that song patently sounds like a funk tune from the late 70s/early 80s... everything about it. It's about the production style and overall implementation of the sound. This song could come out tomorrow and people would still think it's 100% phresh. That's insane considering that it's now over 20 years old. The song it samples by Locksmith would sound old af if it came out in 1990 (ie 10 years after it released).
Im just about to turn 40, this song was part of my initiation into the club scene!! Those were some good times!!! Alot of their tunes were slaughter by the radio and just became cheesy. But this one has always had my heart. Jump and Shout is another good one that never gets old.
For me too: I first discovered and listened to it when I moved to Canada, back then when I was a teenager... I still listen to these songs, it makes me nostalgic of these times in Ontario, next to America (I now live in Europe). A very cool tune indeed.👍
I have literally been trying to find this song for like a decade! Forgot the lyrics and everything just kept humming the tune. Then out of know when I'm falling asleep, the lyrics came out of no where. Crazy....
What the hell! I believe i have not heard this song in 25 years... Since it was released, and i was 7 years old watching MTV. Some SERIOUS nostalgia, makes me feel like i'm on the first grade again 😵
So, I was sitting around in Quarintine, and someone said 'Bingo Bango', which reminded me of that Jaxx song, and I clicked this because I remembered it a little, was a good club song. Then the line "Ain't nothin' goin' on but history, It's alright... Don't Panic!"... Perfect. Thanks Jaxx! Thaxx!
Banger!. Jaxx crowning achievement. I love how 90's artists used technology back then. It always sounded creatively layered but balanced and blended In a way that kept It's "humanity". Most songs never went too robotic , or too glossy like the overproduced soulless auto-tune carbon copies today. Now we might as well just have Siri or Alexa make an album.

I used to sneak my step dads's CDs way and listen to them in the early 2000's. I am 31 and this is easily one of my favorite songs and I cannot BELIEVE I will be seeing them in April.
they should've made more kick ass tracks with this lead singer, powerful voice and natural talent..it's a real shame they didnt make more music with her...classic track!!
I'll never forget listening to this in college when it came out...soon I was in Japan walking around blasting this on my Sony Discman. Music used to be music back when I was young.
I was obsessed with this song when it came out. Super hit song for me to this day. This was back when music was about about artistry and fun. I'll always remember this song together with the Cassius song, Feeling For You. I played them to death.
Yea well It has sucked ass big time since The Nineties, I guess we must hit our head's on wall's and act like everything Is alright, But will It really make Thing's alright, I doubt It, Because only Going back To The last better decade Can make It more alright.
The first time I seen Basement Jaxx was at T in the Park in 1999 (I think) their set was absolutely brilliant; best of the weekend, even playing a cover of 'Redemption Song' during it :) After their show they hung about in the Rizla Tent' with their singers/dancers about 3 feet away from me and my pals :) Magic! When the DJ in the tent played "Locksmith: Far Beyond" (look it up) which is the sample for Red Alert the whole place just erupted and they (Jaxx) all laughed: it was fuckin Brilliant X
Lov3 gRoOvE_-_JeT. Such a cool late nineties song...I did a pre3mptive version of if this ain'tSs love,...but it got lost...lov3 the tall guy in the music video....

It was released in 1999, twenty five years ago and the music keeps on playin' on and on.
Basement Jaxx are so underrated. Love it.
Not underrated. Just below the radar now but in the 90s!! Them and Daft Punk were th electronic kings
Whatever you doin...where ever you are let the music in your life keep playing on and on!!!🎉🎉🎉
This tune hasn't aged a day. If this released now it would be played everywhere.
😢
Timeless classic 🔥
It's now 25 years old. When it was released, 25 years before that Jungle Boogie by Kool & the Gang was the number one hit. Time flies.

Nothing apart from the Chinese Funk Song by Locksmith...

Simply one of the best dance tracks from the 90's.

I remember hearing this song on MTV when I was in Germany. This is still one of may favorites all these years later.
They actually played music on MTV Europe, didn’t they.
Moment of silence for the people who cannot find this song.

MTV cribs
The 90s was THE last great decade...PERIOD
Agreed of the present regime at least. Just facts. But the new earth will be amazing. Hope you make it. Hope you know the Lord Jesus ❤️🕯💕💕🕯❤️🕊
Truly one of the great underground club hits of the late 90s early 00s
I LOVE this song. It was released 15 years ago and sounds so fresh, better than all that rubbish that is out there today.
Shit comment/10
True, the older music is always better
24 years ago and still banging
good song. coming from a 15 y/o 😂
This is perhaps one of my standout tracks for late 90s electronica

It's even weirder that two EDM producers with robot masks make more human tunes than the so called 'artists' of today..
This comment gets more and more relevant as we move forward in time.

With current technology we can produce any sound we want however today almost all music sounds the same
By far 1 of the greatest of all time, epic vox, epic baseline, gorgeous siren synth, percussion to die for, lovely strings, etc etc top top quality
