I own several of the Horrified board games. I love the game. The secret is to make a gameplan each turn for what each character is going to do. You have to be extremely cooperative to beat this game.
Yes very cooperative, or you will surely lose. Horrified is a great franchise. There are so many options to make during a player's move that it can be easy to miss the big picture which is to defeat the monsters as you go to even the playing field. This version of Horrified seems so much more difficult than that of the original classic monsters.
You all definitely played this on hard mode. If you would be knocked out, you can still keep your items. Also, I think you advanced the terror 3 instead of 2 at 1:17:10
I believe (do let me know if I’m mistaken) one player taking one Sharing Action allows any number of players in his location (even other players between themselves) to exchange any number of items. For example, with a single Sharing Action Gavin could give Nikki two Purple Items, Lincoln give Nikki one Purple Item and Nikki give Lincoln one Blue Item, as long as all are in the same location. No player can be forced to give or receive any Items if they don’t want to, though.
Did anyone notice that the Citizen Mari (pronounced like Mardi Gras) is the same character from American Monsters? The notes on her card state, "Their pub surprisingly makes a divine martini, but I always order the Cross Creek brew." She was the soda jerk in that edition and started in the general store. I guess she thought it would be safer here after cryptids overran Cross Creek.
I don't know anything about this game but my gut feeling is that the cards marked Confidential are marked that way because this is a cooperative game and these cards are the exception, otherwise what's the point?
3 monsters with 4 players makes the board way too crowded. But still fun! But the monster bag is a horrible, cheap plastic thing that doesn't even close properly. Get a decent drawstring bag!
They should have either gone for a Mythos theme, and switch Sphynx and Jiangshi with Shoggoth and Dark Ones and insert a "clues" element, or not make it Lovecraftian and remove Cthulhu.
The game is very hard. We played again on a live stream on Halloween and made more progress but we still lost. We definitely want to keep trying. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln
Great joke at the beginning Lincoln and good Scottish accent Gavin (although I'm not the best judge not being Scottish). The game seems impossible even on standard you hardly dented it and are experienced gamers so I'm guessing normal people would struggle. I saw the Greek episode which was also good.
Thanks for having me back on the show! Always a pleasure to get to teach people how to play something amazing
You sound Italian
That gavin is the dreamiest guy i’ve ever seen. They should give him a tv show to star in.
Great to release for Halloween!
YEAH LETS GO GAVIN! 🎉

Yes, cooperative, but make sure you're giving everyone some choice in what they do with their own character. I find this game can reveal alpha gamers.
@marcfrey8019 yeah, it really does seem tougher. Maybe, the map is smaller or easier to travel for the monsters?
@@youvelookedbetter true....I must admit that I lean closer towards the alpha side....not my best characteristic
@@youvelookedbetter oh without a doubt which often ends in losing the game
Considering the artwork for some of the heroes and the monsters, this game would go well with an Iron Maiden soundtrack.

Can you guys play escape the dark castle , bang!, one hit heroes, and slay the spire
Some of those are older games but would be so much fun

Why did y’all never do one thing the entire game? I’m so confused.

This game seems a lot harder with more players, as the monsters get more movement after each turn until the round gets back to a player.
