i've probably listened to this a couple hundred times since high school.. never then did i have any clue, living in my parents house, safe and sound, what the road would do to me. i wouldnt trade my memories for the world.. but sometimes i wish i could just go back and stand still for a while.. feel good with the ones i love. man i miss home. what a fleeting thing home can be. much love everyone. stay grateful

Joseph Caldwell I live alone these Day's, my mom passed 5 day's after my birthday 1992, dad passed in 2014, haven't seen my wife since the day I met her. As sick as it sound's. I wasn't even trying to be with her. We met at am LRY Conference in Toronto Canada September 1,1973. She was from Alaska, I from Niagara Fall's. If you Google Liberal Religious Youth. You'll read that Mountain Girl was President of LRY. She was Jerry Garcia's Second Wife. What a Trip that is

Had this in 8 track back in the day. It was black and all it read was "Grateful Dead". I loved this album since the first time I heard it tripping. The sound is awesome!
Thank you. It brought back memories, both sweet and melancholy. My spirit longs for those days.

If this music doesn't move you to your soul, you are cold as ice. The boys loved Janis, and it comes through in every strum of Jerry's guitar, and every note of Bobby's vocal. I always feel for Pig when I hear this, she was only gone a few months when this was recorded. They sure did it justice, I get shivers every time I hear it, I tear up too.

+Nunna Ubizness Definitely agree! In fact, this is the only version of this song I've heard that I like, and I love their version of this! I don't like the sort of gospel sound with Janis' version, though I like her very much. I also don't like Kristofferson's version of it either though it is his song. It is the looseness of this that just sounds really good here. Actually that is what I like a lot about the Dead. Their sound kind of reminds me of a favorite old set of clothes that are very comfortable and that feel really good when I wear them.
