It's great to see you in China! I visited Chengdu years ago and had one of the best meals there. It would be great to see you do a colab with Blondie in China. She loves to travel around and show local specialties! Have a great trip!
Aha! I didn't know you have visited Chengdu! Hope you enjoyed! I know about Blondie and her videos are funny but she now lives pretty far from where I live 😂 let me see what I can do.
Great video. Just got back from Chengdu a few weeks ago. Best restaurants I tried were Co (#1 amazing, both food and wine), Xin Rong Ji (recommend a la carte), and Yong Ya He Xian (incredible fish hotpot). Would be cool to see any of them in your videos. Thanks so much for the great content.
The world is small! I hope you enjoyed Chengdu! I will definitely try Co- and Xin Rong Ji (although this one is quite expensive and I need to pool a table); Yong Ya He Xian seems interesting too as it's the only Michelin Starred hot pot but it has other dishes as well. Thanks for the suggestion!
I love the China episode! Thanks for sharing with us. Hope you can collab with Blondie in China or The Food Ranger! I wonder, have you ever tried Indonesian food?
Please tell your dad his descriptions were so wonderful and I like his voice! I still am in awe that you guys are so thin. Maybe because you naturally eat more vegetables and real food?? Have a great time!
Thanks! All the Pandas can be seen at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. To be honest this place is very touristy (duh) and the last time I visited was over 15 years ago. But if you guys wanna see it I can include a visit for one of my food/travel videos of the city!
What do people eat there on like a normal, typical day? Like even what your family eats on a regular day. Just wondering what the normal habits are there.
On a normal day people here usually eat simple and one of the most iconic food is the noodle (as shown in the video). Noodle is pretty much the go to spot for people here to have a quick meal, especially launch. Dinner can either be also simple noodle and other small eats varieties, or be a home cook meal like what I had in the video. But nowadays, due to busy work schedule, many young people, aside from eating whatever is nearby their workplace, also choose to order take out from nearby restaurants for whatever seems cheap and in their mood for that day, and being cheap is the prime consideration before taste and varieties, and that often times come in form of pre-made/pre-packaged food (预制菜) which is kind of a big topic in China and people HATED it but they are also kind of left with no choice.
@@Fufski Thank you so much for replying! I really appreciate it and can picture it now. Your town looks beautiful especially the river. I hope you have a great time with your family and it's not too much of a shock when you return to New York! Can you also please tell your dad and family no one in America dislikes China if they have ever heard that. We're all more the same than different no matter what country you live in. Sending positive energy your way from California! :)
Thanks! I don't really worry about all that stuff, those are exaggerated and you don't come across them often. On the other hand, I'm quite careful not to have the pre-made/pre-packaged stuff in restaurants cuz I hate these.
