Sabro Kveik - Sigmund Gjernes Yeast and Sabro Hops.

- The beer made with Sigmund Gjernes Norwegian yeast flakes was interesting but not my favorite. I collected the slurry, however, as it is said you only need 1 tsp of it to ferment 5 gallons. Curious to try this "low" pitch amount, I decided to use some new-to-me hops I had heard much about. Chip joined in to see how it came out.
Thanks to BSG Handcraft for the Sabro hops.

Nice edit to the music in the opening credits, dude! Well-matched to actions in the video. Hahahaha.
This is the real fucking deal, man. The funny into, the jar of slimy stuff, and always the effervescence of Donnie! YES!
Allways refer to the Norweigian part as " the kicker" ( Jan Stenerud) ;) . Skål for Voss , Knut L. Rokne. (Knute Kenneth Rockne) , and the world of American Football .
Mizza the Dizza? The Mashmaker Wizza?
Good info. Thanks.
Not getting any over-pitching issues with Kveiking. I use about a cup of slurry, maybe Im killing the charachter but the beer has still is quite orangy. Same results as out of the bag first pitch.
I see you took my recommendation and got an infrared thermometer. I brewed up a Sabro Kveik on Sunday . I’m very curious about these hops.
If you were one who suggested it, then yes I did! Great, cheap investment for certain occasions. Hope your beer comes out good. What Kveik yeast did you use?
donosborn I used the hothead yeast from Omega.
You over-pitched! ;)
I just can't win, Dan. Too little, too much, geez! Ha.
Ha that's like double what ya need 🍻
Probably. Either not enough, or too much. ha.
Did you see the hop blends that have wood in it to give a wood aged flavor?
No I have not heard of such a thing. Huh.
@@donosborn it was in a Brulosphy podcast recently but I cant find anything online for sale so maybe it's still experimental.
