Such an awesome idea. I have some wine bottles from my mom of various sizes and a bottle cutter. I am going to be making multimedia wine glasses, cup holders etc. Now I am thinking elves, leprechauns, Santa, snow man, hmmm...... the list goes on
Thank you so much for this! My BFF absolutely adores gnomes and I've been going crazy trying to figure out what to make her for Christmas! This is perfect!
OMG!!! How adorable is that little garden gnome??? I know exactly what I’m doing with the soda bottles I have sitting in the recycle bin!!! What I really like about this is you can make different sizes with these! I must watch the video on how you made the paper clay because I was just going to order some stuff off of Amazon… if I can get away with just making it With old newspapers, that will be a wonderful Money saver!!!
Super cute! There’s several good names mentioned here. GNorman, Nugent, I think he looks like a Gordon, but think the one that first springs to your mind when you ‘place’ him should be his name. 😊
The video's title made my day 😀 Why not make it a challenge: "Don't throw away ???, make a gnome instead." Unfortunately I have to skip the "bottle-version" of the gnome, because in Germany plastic-bottles are returnable bottles and I payed for deposit ;-)
At Christmas time I found out that my older sister loves gnomes. So during Christmas clearance I bought her a gnome cookie jar. I also saw a lot of other seasonal gnomes and gnome crafts. However, my sister caught covid right after Christmas, and died mid-January. Now I'm looking at all the gnomes and my joy over them is gone. It will take some time to get over this, but I'm saving all gnome crafts to do at a later date. I think Gnigel would make a nice name for this little guy
Oh brill! I never thought to use the amazon paper packaging for that! I didn't want to have to buy a newspaper because that isn't recycling it if I'm not buying it to read lol. Thank you for that tip! Love the gnome
@@SteveMcDonaldCrafting He looks just like our hockey team logo from our 3rd jersey and one of our old jerseys. Big nose and all. (Milwaukee Admirals) 😀 So that kind of makes him the coolest gnome ever.
I repurpose all of my Amazon boxes as well… bloody hell, I have so many amazon boxes! I break them down and the. Cut out pieces from the card board! I’m currently building a little stand with drawers in it from some dollar store wood creates, crafting sticks and amazon boxes used to make the drawers. I’m using a fidget spinner to place on the bottom of the crates along with a bottom piece so it will turn easily instead of being immobile… got the crates glued together and the inside measured out to make the drawers… have one of the drawers made as a template… I have 2 drawers per crate and there are 4 crates… ugh, that’s a lot of cardboard pieces to cut out! But, my work space will be so much nicer once I get this thing finished and I can put all my odds and ends away into those drawers!
that sounds like an amazing project. I hate throwing away anything that I could re-use in a crafting project. When I do a tour of the work area for this channel, you will see how much stuff I collect in case it comes in useful LOL
@@SteveMcDonaldCrafting my husband said I am a hoarder… he's not wrong lol I keep a lot of things most people just Chuck in the bin… I do have a LOT of cardboard… I need a couple of soda bottles so I can make some of those little gnomes you showed is… I especially need a door stopper for my crafting room… the door will not stay open unless something is up against it… I think a gnome would be cute guarding the door… I wonder how the cats will react it one? lol
Gnome's seem to be really popular this year. I've seen squishies, clay, crochet amigurumi, and now upcycled paper clay. The only gnome I ever knew was from a tv show called David the gnome. Don't even remember his wife's name and I think they had a fox named Swifty? (But I may be confusing that with She-ra's or Rainbow Brite's horse) Any whooooooo, I like a simple name like LongBottom 😘
They are popular, I think we will see them everywhere. I am thinking of casting this one in silicone so that I can then make a cement one out of it for the garden. Love the name Longbottom
The wife’s name was Lisa, I remember because it was my 35 year old daughter’s favourite tv show and we let her choose her baby sister’s name as we knew she would say Lisa 😁
He reminds me of those little Christmas soldiers, except he has a fantastic blue hat! I would call him Gneville because you gave him a "Longbottom." Sorry… my HP fandom is coming out… lol
@Steve McDonald Crafting my mother in law gave my husband the nickname of ghnomey and he's my yang that's why I suggested that name. His nickname for me is Yin and I love it so much I used it for my business name. I would love to see you make another one with the name yin 😁
So did I!! The Christmas soldiers is what I called it because my brain was having a "I’m out of the office moment," and couldn’t think of that bloody musical's proper name! That’s too funny … he does look like one of them except for the fantastic blue hat!!!!!
I will be doing a short video in a few days with the name of the gnome and the dog. I have written all the suggestions out and just need to pull them out of a hat
@@SteveMcDonaldCrafting ahhh… I see!!! I can't wait… I hope you pull Gneville out of the hat!!!! I'm currently working on my own little gnome door stopper… waiting on the first layer of the framework to dry so I can apply the paper clay to it…
Cute!
