Going against the grain comes naturally for DevilDriver.
The globally-renowned California Groove Machine have been a constant and effective force in the heavy metal world for the best part of two decades now. Thanks to widely lauded albums like 2005’s epoch-shredding The Fury Of Our Maker’s Hand, 2011’s ante-raising, ultra-brutal Beast and 2016’s acclaimed career peak Trust No One, the band led by vocalist Dez Fafara (ex-Coal Chamber) are firmly established as one of the most consistent and best loved bands in modern metal. But in 2018, expectations are about to be torched in the mother of all campfires!
A monstrous collection of savage and slamming metal interpretations of Dez and his comrades’ favourite outlaw country songs, Outlaws ‘Til The End is both a startling curveball and a ferocious statement of individuality from a band with cojones to spare. “The blues and outlaw country are what made rock’n’roll. They were around before rock’n’roll...and in my head, I’ve always heard these songs heavy“, explains Dez. From the opening seconds of DevilDriver’s face-flaying version of Hank III’s ‘Country Heroes‘ (featuring the man himself on guest vocals) onwards, Outlaws ‘Til The End is simply one of the most vicious records the band have made yet. More importantly, these evocative, irresistible songs have all been wholly rebuilt from the ground up, powered by the classic DeviDriver sound and embellished with Dez’s unmistakable feral roar. Completing this unprecedented project is a host of metal and country luminaries providing unforgettable cameos: Wednesday 13, Brock Lindow (36 Crazyfists) Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory), Lee Ving (Fear), Randy Blythe and Mark Morton (Lamb Of God) and none other than John Cash Jr, son of Johnny Cash.
The perfect marriage of badass country grit and neck-wrecking groove metal supremacy, it’s a pistol-packing game-changer delivered by true heavy metal outlaws.
I know a lot of people loathe country music with a passion, and that's fine. But as someone that adores classic country and metal alike, I'm really liking what I hear from this album so far. It gives me all of the excitement that I like to get from metal, on top of the cultural connection that I feel when I listen to an old Waylon album.
I'm so glad to know that other people listen to metal and country. I felt like a loner. And this album is a work of musical genius imo
@@brandongarrard9675 There's more than a few of us out there, just tend to be quiet cause of all the hatred for country out there lol.
@@mattlittke5233 that makes sense. I'm very open about my musical taste and I catch all kinds of hell
I love this shit. I love outlaw country and metal music. So this is the best of world's for me. I like Rebel meets Rebel to.
@@Steveo3332 Steve Earle's whole concept for Copperhead Road was to be a combination of country and heavy metal.
I'm a died hard Metal fan & Outlaw Country fan as well, this record was done very well. Devildriver always delivers
They are definitely a very talented metal band
I’m a heavy metal redneck, I approve as well 😂
Now I LOVE DevilDriver and this song is really cool, but you simply can’t beat the Steve Earle original of Copperhead Road
I do agree, but you gotta admit, DevilDriver did a FANTASTIC job with this. And this is coming from a boy who was raised on the Steve Earle version.
Agreed but this was a good cover a lot better than others I have heard
Holy shit, my uncle would love this. God bless and rest in peace, my uncle. Much love.
1:08 hey that’s John Moses Browning, the guy that invented the Auto 5 shotgun (which he’s holding), the 1911, the M1919, the M2, and countless other designs, he’s literally the most legendary weapons designer in history, he made guns in the 1910’s that are still widely used by militaries today, he even invented the .50 BMG, the BMG part stands for Browning Machine Gun since it was made for the M2
Remember that country music is the original heavy metal. Them rednecks were the first to sing about not giving a damn, getting into fights, drinking and riding off with friends, all the while hiding your inner struggles.
As many fans as Devildriver has(myself included), i still say that they are THE most underrated metal band out there!
PREACH!
Let It Be Known I saw them live in August, they were brilliant!
And this album is to. Outlaw country and metal. The best of world's for me.
@@zachariahmorris833 SPREAD THE GOSPEL OF DEVILDRIVER!!!
@@andrewwinch474 👍👍👍
While I'm here; rest in peace, Vinnie Paul, we will always remember you brother.
Damn rite CFH for life Stronger Than All Getcha Pull. O have a Dime tatto on my left forearm and. I have a Pantera leg
Did you ever listen to the album they did with David Allan coe was a Rebel Meets rRbel
Rebel Meets Rebel
I love outlaw country and metal so perfect combination
1:08 is a picture of John Moses Browning. Father of modern firearm design.
Gun Jesus !!! Hell yeah!!!
@@saltysteel3996 HAHA!! That's amazing. I will forever after refer to JMB as "Gun Jesus."
I like this a lot I don’t know why everyone is complaining about it 🤷🏻♂️
I just think it's f****** human nature people going to complain about everything. I'll never understand it kicks ass
E for effort. Steve Earle can’t be topped.
As a kid born and raised in Tennessee, who was RAISED on the Steve Earle version, this version kicks ASS. DevilDriver, WELL FUCKING DONE.
If you give yourself time to warm up to this, and abandon your preconception of what it should be, it actually really kicks ass.
After hearing the lyric videos released, god damn I can't wait to get my preorder
I'm definitely buying this album!, Great idea by Devildriver. I've enjoyed all the songs released so far.
The thing with older country and metal? They didn't give a fuck what you thought. Just like these boys are doing. Respect.
One of my favorite songs. Good remake
Dear Devil Driver , thank you for all of your albums , it resembles life pure chaos with moments of bliss, I've lived a lot of places so I've had most if not all my metal collection stolen or taken , I'm sorry for downloading so I've bought all your albums :) I hope you guys are still p,aging when I'm 40 cause the day of choreography in metal is over I swear it died a bit with andles..... god that dude could drum
2 years on and still one of my all time favorite songs! This whole album kicked so much ass!
I don't know why this is getting so much hate. It sounds fucking awesome. Brock Lyndow is the man
Derek Bolz actually - to lots of folk including me - it sounds like crap
sickest riffs ive ever heard, wish dez sung more, great cover tho, took a few listens but it grew on me fast, love it
I actually love this whole album. This cover fucking rules.
I havent listened to DevilDriver since HS in the mid 2000's... This is just as badass as always.
I'm a fan of the original song but this is growing on me! All in all, A solid metal cover of a country song.
those riffs are incredible, as usual, the drummer kills it, i didnt like it the first time i heard this song, but this is quickly becoming one of my favorite DD songs, it vaguely sounds like the original, but has a massive twist, love it
Banging this track for the 5th time today!
I did not know this needed to exist until I saw it.
I LOVE THIS VERSION, but the OG cant be topped but this is a VERY close second
Love this version.
First time am hearing this brilliant absolute brilliance..brutal
I can’t wait for Volume 2.
I love Steve Earle. I love metal as well. Great job on this song.
Yeah man heavy country!
It sounds out of place and weird
@@v.vendrick6463 and? Do you want everything to sound generic
I love country like this. Hank 3 is amazing too.
DevilDriver at the Grand Ole Oprey needs to happen
It'd be an improvement from Luke Bryan or Florida Georgia line
Didn't realize DD collab'd with other singers on this one. I was like "WTF, WHERE IS DEZ?" when the vocals came in.
this is nice there is a touch of country music,,good👍👍
Was skeptical but this one's great!!!
Interesting take on a classic. Props to the band for even knowing who Steve Earle is. I like it.
Definitely, proof that just because you can play fast doesn't mean you are a drummer. Of all the directions he could have gone with this to give it some sort of actual recognition he just used double bass and blast beats.
Such a shame that Coal Chamber ain't no more but this... whatever this is... still lives on.
I've always liked the original. I love this version! Way to Devil Driver the shit out of it! Horns up guys! Stay Heavy.
Could have been epic ... I feel sad now
I moved to a country/rural area from the 'city', and I love ensuring the locals hear these improvements, whether they choose to or not.
As a metalhead from out in the woods, I fucking love this shit. I'll be buying this album. I'll proudly jam this while working my sour mash, and dumping that thump keg.
Was introduced to the original in a bar/restaurant that hosted a karaoke club every week in North Carolina..I like it..but this version I like more
I am sold now. Gotta have this album. :) \m/ all these songs are bringing back memories from when I was little hearing these songs on the radio. Can't wait for Vol.2
At least dez says we can look forward to a double album next year.
Great album, some truly wonderful interpretations. This is not my favorite of the collection so far, but not bad at all imho. Good job guys.
So badass!!!!! Love this song... Thank yall so fucking much...O am getting stoned listening to copperhead Road. An me being from Ft. Worth Tx I LIVED THE OUT LAW LIFE AN STILL DO.. BADASS !!!!!!!
They never caught my grandpa. I hope he is messing with people in heaven.
A beer and DevilDriver
Brock Lindow makes EVERYTHING BETTER!!!!
Hells Yeah… ❤
No bagpipes, no copperhead road.
Cant fucking wait, got tickets for the Dublin show.
So far this song sounds awesome.
I never knew i liked outlaw country
Oh my fuck. This is so good. We need more cowboy metal
I'm actually not a big fan of devil driver, but I do really enjoy this. It's different and that takes balls.
I don't mind this stuff and can appreciate it but I also hope a regular album is coming out soon too with epic songs like Clouds Over California.
My drunk enthusiasm says it's good. My sober being says it's difficult to tell.
Finally some clean vox by Dez! The thing I mostly miss about the Coal Chamber days.
Son of Donar that isn't Dez
Son of Donar that would be brock lidow from 36 crazyfists, not dez
Are you deaf? Yes, two people are singing on this track. While Dez has some screamed lines in the beginning, he also has clean ones. Who is the guy at 2:31 for example? Dez, not Brock.
I miss Coal Chamber but this is awesome
The best song on the album
That ain't sayin much
This isnt really country this is more old rock, and im tryin with all of me to love this but i love the original alot more this is my dads favorite song ... o well
This is great
Nice rendition.
Steve Earle cover huh. Got my vote. Dudes one of my favorite. This is fucking badass
DevilDriver é foda!!!
Ótima música!!!

Aguante Devildriver!!!!!
This albums really hit or miss I love some tracks others just sound to busy to me.
Hell to the yea!
Nice im a huge Steve earle fan and im a metal head
Hell yea !!
What's with all the hate comments? This is awesome!
Esorkalsirk haters always bitch, I love this cover album and looking forward to my copy
Too many little bitches now
jesus the amount of hubris it takes to say some stupid shit like this is unbelievable. It's called art fuck nugget. people are entitled to not like it and say that they don't like it. If they wanted to hear Five Finger butt fuck they would go listen to them.
Because people that have listened to Dez since Coal Chamber realize this stuff is crap.
Everyone always bitches about covers.
"So terrible, it sounds nothing like the original!!!"
No shit, it's not supposed to.
Yeah man 🤘🤘
Been waiting a long time for a good rock or metal cover of this song... and the wait continues.
This song is amazing thanks to Devil Driver. \m/ \m/
Thanks to devil driver? Only thing they did was fuck it up. Have u ever heard the original? Fuck, today's youth is fukn lost
Reminds me of Desperados with Onkel Tom 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I bet they would've nailed it at a quarter this speed.
The best part about the original song being the official song of a US state is the fact that the song mentions the Vietcong 😂
Devildriver put the O back in country!
Not really. They spelled it "cuntree"
Still waiting on the follow up album Dez???
Proof, MetaL fixes everything.
Lies! The original version kicks this one's ass.
To be honest, this version is awful.
This is a fans album. I think this speaks to all musicians in metal, especially the young ones who come up hearing great tunes and thinking to themselves and the crew " This would make a bad ass METAL song". Every musician has wanted to cover some songs and this is one big ass party album to get your crazy ass cousin ready to smash a keg open with an ax drinking whiskey.
Cheers to a great fucking party!
See ya at the Cain's, Ol' Lady Brady or The Bomb Factory hopefully! /M\
It sounds good but every time Dez said Daddy or grandaddy, I died a little, however that end when he's talking about being a veteran and staying away from copperhead road, tight.
You do it BIG DD. 🔫🤓❤️
That one is really cool
Lmfao at the comment you got bro
These bots think i will click on that virus lmao
They are stupid sheep
michael mitchell too far
The Negan Guy true, but since cardinal copia is a character, I guess it's like wishing Batman got a broken wing.
Fucking awesome guys can't wait
i happen to be a steve earl fan and i actually kinda dig it all fast and shit i would like to hear a good metal cover to guitar town.
Ever heard of leo morachioli?
Is that the lead of 36 crazyfists with devil driver? Cant usually mistake Brock Lindows voice
Rebel meets rebel awesome
DEVILDRIVER Is Playing on David's Bone Yard on Facebook Check it out nice work DEVILDRIVER I love it it Great Song from you're Metal Master DJ and that is David Wilkinson thank u
I love Copperhead Road and I love DevilDriver, like I love chocolate milk and orange juice.
They just don't mix.
Just love the song .. Fucking Hell ya.! Outlaw MUSIC .. I have been jamming this song all day. Getting stoned on copperhead road...BIG HELL YA TO DD AN ALL THAT MADE THIS SONG VERY HEAVY WITH A GREAT BEAT. THE BEST LYRICS SEEDS FROM MEXICO PLANTED ON COPPERHEAD ROAD FUCK YA!!!
Awesome
Best song off the album I've heard so far
LOVE!
Appreciate the sentiment, but this one should have been left alone
