    Props to Tucker for recognizing that youth has its inexperiences.

    You better change the timing belt that is an interference engine and would be catastrophic if it broke. And replace the lower ball joints. They are known to give and if you're driving when they give the truck would hit the ground

    • @therealphee
      @therealphee Рік тому +2

      I second the sentiment above. Check to see if the ball joints have been replaced and do that timing belt.

      If you don't live in a salt belt and very minimal off-road the ball joints will run a long long time... (funny thing they always recommend OEM lower ball joints on forums for replacement, because all others fail premature; so what's on the truck? OEM ball joints lol the timing belt shouldn't go over 10 years or 100k in my opinion.... cheap insurance!!! And the radiators are a critical part to change out when necessary!! I actually might change out my radiator every timing belt change.... 😉 makes sense in my head.... lol

    • @deathleprosy27
      @deathleprosy27 7 місяців тому

      @@lanceguinn9807 you could just swap out the radiator and get an aluminum one that'll last 10 times longer, because doing a radiator job as you do a timing belt job, it's going to be pretty expensive

    Awesome truck. I just went down to your neck of the woods to buy an 07 tundra used. I love it. I bought it from a dealer and soon as I got it home it started to throw codes. Thank GOD I can fix them. I am waiting for the parts now. Awesome American-made truck. Mine was made in Texas I think. Thank you for the encouragement with my tundra and GOD bless you and your brother.

    Great verse and a good reminder that we shouldn't "Cancel" each other over grievances but give each other the benefit of the doubt and grace as the Lord gives to us. We have to remember that the Lord is the one who does the judging based on what is in ones heart.

    Great videos! Had the same issue with the gas door lock. My quick easy fix was to stack a couple beer-bottle-cap-sized magnets in the corner of the door under the lock. Works great and keeps the door from swinging open.

    Great review. I just picked one up. I believe the emissions code you have could be from one of the two main emission issues with this gen.
    1. The evap canister. Not an immediate issue.
    2. Secondary emission air pump, this one is an expensive fix. It’s to heat up the converter and reduce emissions. Bypass kits are sold to eliminate this pump entirely.
    God bless you. Hope this helps.

      @jxg5448 Рік тому +1

      I could be wrong but, I heard somewhere that the SAIS pump is just on the 2005 and 2006. Yes, it is an expensive fix. I just had mine replaced last week.

      for the lower ball joint, any signs i should look out for that its about to go out?

    • @SLKR-ek9hj
      @SLKR-ek9hj Рік тому +1

      @@store8294 you can look for Greese spilling out the boot or dirt accumulating meaning a slight tear and sand and dirt sticking to it. Also if they have never been replaced it’s better to just replace them and have that peace of mind and be in a schedule to replace next time. If you really want to get into it you can take everything apart and inspect then but if your going to do all that you might as well replace them. Moral of the story replace them lol 👍🏻 hope it helps

    • @BmxOG
      @BmxOG Рік тому +3

      Use Toyota ball joints. Don’t use aftermarket. You’ll have to replace aftermarket ball joints in a about a year. They won’t last. Signs your ball joints are bad you’ll hear squeaking in the front end at low speeds.

    Used prices are insane. I usually don't buy new cars, if I want something new I'll look for something with like 5-10k miles cause having those miles instantly lowers the price. But the way the markets been lately, I actually just bought a brand new truck. It was like 2k more for a new one.

    Great video, In your brother's defense. I rented a Mazda CX-9 yesterday and I was driving and didn't know that I had to push the AC button to get cold air out of the system. In my 2016 Yukon the climate system is automatic control so you don't have to worry about it. You just set it and forget it. You should put him in more of your videos. Psalm 122:1

      Jack the truck until the wheel/tire is clear of the ground then stick a pry bar (or even a shovel) under the tire and move it up and down. If you hear a clicking sound or if you can see movement in the joint you know it's time. Catastrophic failure can occur without warning though, so many people just replace the LBJs at around 100k. It isn't terribly difficult but definitely use OEM Toyota parts.

    Maybe you didn't get such a good deal considering considering $800 for the radiator plus all your things that broke like the gas door and the ignition which the ignition isn't broke or whatever and the key does come out you just have to do it right I had the same problem with my truck you have to do it in a swift maneuver otherwise it can get stuck every now and then I paid 65 for my truck I didn't have to do anything to it for several years nothing broke the only thing I had to do eventually after six years was a new radiator which I need a new coolant and stuff anyways as well as a new thermostat and belt and couple ignition coils that's it got it with 189k now has 285k.
