A placer gold deposit runs from the headwaters down several kilometres. At the headwaters is a massive blue clay deposit with massive iron pyrite. The placer gold depositis rich and stream sediment samples ran almost 17g/ton gold. This blue clay could be close to the source or could be associated with a massive gold deposit spanning several kilometers.

Gossonous just means it's oxidized and deteriorated, I think.

You might want to return to that blue clay deposit and see, since it has deteriorated, if gold has sunk to the bottom of it by digging to bedrock in a small sample core.
