  • HARLIN performs their song "Drive-In" live at the Roxy Theatre, West Hollywood, CA, on January 16, 1988. Whil Harlin on vocals, Gib Arciniega on lead guitar and vocals, Brett Scott on bass and vocals, Drake Thompson on drums and vocals.
This song was written by Whil Harlin and Brett Scott (as I recall). It was one of 3 new songs introduced during the live set that evening, the others being "Ain-Soph-Aur" and "Contact". Whil's microphone swinging move was done as a nod to Cy Langston, former crew member and soundman for The Who. Cy had been helping the band out, and would later engineer some recordings. As I recall, Cy taught Whil how to tape his microphone cord just like Roger Daltrey. Whil only did the mic-swinging routine for a short time, though. He quit swinging it after the mic hit him in the head one night, hard...
