    there are so many acapella warp tutorials on youtube but this is by far the clearest and most effective one! Thank you!

    Sweet. Another tip, especially if you are working with acapellas that are not already from a synced source (classic rock for example). Turn the grid off and warp to the sound of the metronome. This also has the effect that your version of the acapella will be "unique" and not just an exact rhythmic copy of the original tune.

      Too busy workin his tracks dude, dont have time to listen others. ithink its kinda common among producers that have to work their asses of to get a good mix. As a producer Focus is extremly important! And you can clearly see that this guys got it.

  • @TheNomadicTrader
    @TheNomadicTrader 4 роки тому +6

    When using known acapella's, it's much easier and quicker to find the original bpm using Beatport, set the project bpm to match, then set 1.1.1 as you have in this instance making sure the acapella is warped straight from that point. Then adjust your project bpm to the desired tempo. Takes a fraction of the time, seriously.
    Hope this helps.

    • @thxrxxlmx
      @thxrxxlmx 4 роки тому +1

      What if the original vocal is lets say 85bpm but your project is around 124?

    • @TheNomadicTrader
      @TheNomadicTrader 4 роки тому +1

      @@thxrxxlmx it's all relative so doesn't affect the principle in any way. Change the tempo of your track to 85, add the acapella to start in the correct place using 1.1.1 (as shown in this tutorial), then once it's working and sitting right at 85bpm, simply adjust your master tempo to 124.

    • @TheNomadicTrader
      @TheNomadicTrader 4 роки тому

      @@thxrxxlmx the key is, at 85bpm the acapella doesn't need to be warped right? So adjust the track tempo to 85bpm, get the vocals to sit right and hit warp so it will keep its timing once you adjust the track tempo

    • @TheNomadicTrader
      @TheNomadicTrader 4 роки тому

      @G.O.A.T CHANNEL some vocals start on the off-beat and some on the down-beat. Some start ON the beat..
      If the acapella is structured 4/4, you should expect each verse to begin and end on (let's say), each 8 bars. If it ends too soon, and you've warped the timing correctly, maybe you have the acapella coming in too soon - and visa versa.
      Does that make sense, and did it answer your question?

    • @TheNomadicTrader

    Very nice approach! In a sense this is similar to manual beat matching. You find a reference point like the kick and then stretch (change tempo) to make the rest of the beats to match. I am using this method from now on.

    Three quick questions, if anyone can answer:
    1. Is he shift clicking everytime he moves the track, or just the first time and then he's only moving the warp markers?
    2. What was that little thing he did with the Formants after setting to Complex Pro at 16:10?
    3. He was happy that the key matched pretty well, what would I do if it didn't?

    this was by far one of the most frustrating videos ive attempted to learn since i started music production a little less than 1 year ago. theres no correct way to sample, there is what the paths that the technology allows you to take and the limits to each of those methods...its really about finding your own way. i really had to sit down with this one and think my way through it. very worth rewatching (a few times ;)! one of the better vids on sampling out there in general tho, theres a few select pieces of info that were "gatekeeping" me from understanding the art itself....the hard part for me was figuring out how to count perfectly shaped bars and determining which word lands on which beat. to others: try working with several different samples/styles....when i used the exact ellie goulding song to attempt this it didn't work, trying a different song using this method did. try try and try again........
