I really never understood the logic on the arrow placement for some cards. I always thought it was related to the card artwork and how a character was facing or whatever. Then, after learning more about Link cards, I saw it wasn’t really the case, and I find it irritating more than anything.
As someone with a degree in mathematics, I would have went with the original name. It's such a unique presentation that it stands out so nicely as the name for an archetype. Alternatively, I do enjoy the "M4L1C3" choice as well - after all, the TCG was the one to spring "Ghoti" = "Fish" on the world, so I don't think they should have any qualms on this archetype's name...
i think what they need to do with the translation is just to add an "e" in the end so it became malisse. -you keep the malware reference -you keep alice (a bit of a weird spelling though) -its an anagram of "melissa" a famous computer virus from the 90s
They are Cyberse as well. So this could make the deck have Playmaker (type, names and hacking), Blue Angel (fantasy literature and artwork), Ghost Girl (names and hacking) vibes. I immediatly thought of the former two after seeing the theme and type of the cards and I think the archtype is closer to a mix of Yusaku and Aoi avatars and decks , but I could see some of Emma also fitting.
4:00 but this same reason is why HERO was capitalized (There was a few HERO cards spelled “Hero” at first iirc), to prevent cards spelled with “Hero” be technically searchable or used effects with certain cards that they aren’t supposed to.
Considering the theme/design of the archetype at first glance appearance to me, and added by details of what another user ( @MetronaJ ) pointed out as a characteristic of the archetype; while I doubt this was intentional, the Maliss, in my opinion, only, at lesat, has a very Yusaku/Aoi vibe. The Yusaku part is obvious, it is cyberse, it has a computer theme involving hacking (keep in mind that some of the cyberse cards or archetypes, like Salamngreat, don't follow the computer / web themes), Also, as pointed out by the other user mentioned above, there is number 3 pattern in several aspects of the archetype cards (for now at least); and Yusaku had his “3 reasons” quirk. The Aoi part is not evident, but could be argued: First: the Maliss follow Alice in Wonderland them, a children’s novel with part of it having fairy tales elements. Aoi inspired her Blue Angel avatar on a fairy tale book for young children, which was even released in IRL as a card. While the exact form of literatures is different, they both follow fantasy magical worlds stories that are aimed at children as one of the inspirations. Secondly, the link monsters are inspired on royalty characters from Alice, mainly the Queens where it seems we have different forms/appearances of Alices: from the main deck monsters, closer to the creatures, then to royalty beings in the Extra Deck. Aoi, in season 2, changes her avatar from Blue Angel (magical girl/ fairy = magical creature) and Blue Girl (regular girl = Alice) to Blue Maiden and adopt the Marincess deck. The deck is clear in royalty theme (Marincess = Marine + Princess). Now the word "Maiden" by default doesn't refer to royalty (it is usually used for young unmarried girls), but in some fantasy novels or stories, knights rescue princesses, who are also read as "damsel", which is a synonym to "maidens", since the princesses are single. So by going with this logic Aoi final avatar follows the theme of Maliss bosses. In the end this is mainly my pov. I may just me reading to much into it and, as I said, doubt Konami did it on purpose (unlike say "Gemknights" that are clear mix of Judai/Jesse). So take this as more of a funny thing than outright fact.
This is the first deck that I genuinely want to build just because of the art and the theme in a long, long time, I hope it won't be too expensive to build
I feel like no one realizes that every MAlice's card artwork is about a single person, Alice herself is all those card's characters. Like she has multiple hacker accounts (Multiple + Alice = MAlice) They share the same eye color, base hair color (only the highlights are different), and body type.
Im pretty excited about them. Also those link arrows seem really friendly to go linking and co-linking off. Especially since when you special summon from banish they can be put in main monster zone.
At the very least, they could have named it MALICE in caps lock to differentiate it from the other Malice cards, they did the same with HERO, making it so the archetype support cards won't work with Oscillo Hero or with Heroics.

I could see a searcher called Malice (K) White Knight which combines the character of the white knight and a Trojan virus.
I absolutely love the thought and love put into the design and aesthetic of Yu-Gi-Oh cards. It's a shame that so much detail and design gets hammered by bans and limits when overused in the meta and can't play an archetype for itself when core cards for playing that archtype on its own are hit.
Sounds like Blue-Eyes Spirit Ultimate will be indispensable when dealing with this archetype to keep cards in my graveyard from being banished and Bystial Dis Pater can be used to great effect in stopping monster effects cold to and reviving any banished monsters.

I REALLY want this archetype to be good, not broken kind of good but at least playable to a tier 3 extent, sadly the monsters right now don't really do anything outstanding hence the need to also play them alongside cyberse pile. Let's hope future suport makes them a little better.
For all just means what you claimed applies to everything in your group. So if I’m talking about odd numbers, the upside down A just means you’re referencing all odd numbers instead of a portion of the set of odd numbers. Mathematical definitions sound more complicated than they need to but it’s the most concise way to define it.
I would really like to see a Snow White archetype with the 7 dwarfs all being their own monsters levled 1 through 7, You could potentially even have a play on them mining gems and give them the crystal beast effect of goong to the spell and trap card zone when destroyed. Your win con could be getting all 7 dearfs out onto the field and then getting Snow White out whom could lock down all effects on your opponents field if all 7 dwarfs are on the field, and maybe get some sort of attack boost You could have a poison apple spell which if played goes to your opponents side of the field and causes them to lose X amount of life points, discard from their hand, or banish from their graveyard as cost. Then you could use the magic mirror as a spell or trap that bounces any card effect back onto the opponent.
There is the card Fairy Tail - Snow in the game, complete with an effect that banish 7 cards to '''rescue'' her from the GY, but an archetype would be nice too!

Moonlight Butterfly = board wipe/banish
Everyone say frog the jam for search but forget the guardian searcher.
In universe reference yugi and atem with a deck of cards and seto kaiba deck of chess.
I'm so excited for these to get to masterduel (I know that's going to be a while) they look so awesome
How have I never heard about this archetype?? 🤯
I REALLY want this archetype to be good, not broken kind of good but at least playable to a tier 3 extent, sadly the monsters right now don't really do anything outstanding hence the need to also play them alongside cyberse pile.
Let's hope future suport makes them a little better.
I am getting "the weather" vibes with the link giving effects and coming back from the banish.
For all just means what you claimed applies to everything in your group. So if I’m talking about odd numbers, the upside down A just means you’re referencing all odd numbers instead of a portion of the set of odd numbers. Mathematical definitions sound more complicated than they need to but it’s the most concise way to define it.
I would really like to see a Snow White archetype with the 7 dwarfs all being their own monsters levled 1 through 7,
You could potentially even have a play on them mining gems and give them the crystal beast effect of goong to the spell and trap card zone when destroyed.
Your win con could be getting all 7 dearfs out onto the field and then getting Snow White out whom could lock down all effects on your opponents field if all 7 dwarfs are on the field, and maybe get some sort of attack boost
You could have a poison apple spell which if played goes to your opponents side of the field and causes them to lose X amount of life points, discard from their hand, or banish from their graveyard as cost.
Then you could use the magic mirror as a spell or trap that bounces any card effect back onto the opponent.
There is the card Fairy Tail - Snow in the game, complete with an effect that banish 7 cards to '''rescue'' her from the GY, but an archetype would be nice too!
Valice (Virus Alice)
I need this archetype in my life now.
Im definitely gonna be playing this archetype plus I like playing link monsters. Really looking froward to this one.
I’m a mathematician by trade and I was really excited when I saw the For All symbol in the name, plus I love Alice in Wonderland. Definitely gonna be playing this deck when we get it
same
These cards are so cool. Not only did I learn more about Alice in wonderland but learned about malware 😂😂
W Haikyuu shirt while talking about my top 3 favorite archetypes
I’m gonna get this deck in master duel, so excited can’t wait for it to come out!
A video for a new archetype, thats cool.
I love the Maliss archetype and wish it gets more support like bishop, rook, and jack link monster
M/ALICE TALKER 🗣️🗣️🗣️
As always great Video.
Maybe Fur Hire in the future?
I now have the Happy Unbirthday song in my head
cant wait to be released in master duel. additional collection for waifu decks.
Best narrator for a YugiTuber
I would have left it MLICE or made it M/ALICE
i like this. It might bring me back to yugioh
I've taken to calling this archetype "M/\LICE" when talking about it. Idk, just think it looks cool, and slashes kinda go with the hacking/typing motif anyway.
5:14 super early banlist leaks confirmed :o
I really like the design of these cards, I would have preferred the M/Alice designation for them
Really nice work; love these videos. Would you please cover the Dogmatika cards?
ngl, this archetype looks really good, and its educational even: Can't wait to play this in MD.... which will be in a year or so with any luck
