The Bruins had a great season. Everybody thought the Bruins would struggle to be a playoff team. Next season will be an improvement for the Bruins with the added Cap Space.

Not a Bruins fan. The season wasn't a disappointment. Great regular season no one saw coming. Beat Leafs. Played Florida hard, even when outclassed. Fingers to be pointed at GM and above.

Didn't expect a cup....If we could score goals we might have gone a little deeper.
Saw some good young talent comin' up.
And we did beat the Leafs so....Not a complete waste eh? 🤣🤣
    Go BRUINS.

Not a disappointment at all! How many teams would love to have the season the Bruins had and right up against the cap! I thought they might be at best a wild card team. They almost won the division……they knocked off the Leafs - yet again - and if they had a true #1 center they beat Florida. Best goalie tandem in the league, Swayman will be a stud, plenty of good young talent we saw on D and forward. Now Sweeney needs to fix the center miss and additional scoring and they need another solid stay at home D man. Hope they can do it through trades and FA’s in the off season.

Good season better than expected….maybe. But all the problems they had in the regular season bit them in the playoffs. They have some good young players and Swayman kept them alive for longer. Need more depth and physicality. More consistency and no more TOO MANY MEN ON THE ICE!!!!!! 🐻

Not even close. We actually played some youth, may have found a diamond in the rough in Brazzeau and not only made the playoffs but beat the leafs to crush that organization. We need more top end talent in the forward group and we will be good

Watched Lindholm for years here in Calgary… Solid #2 centre. You pay him as a #1- buyer beware.

I like debrusk but they should have packaged him for a top 6 center. Of course he played well with Bergy/Marchy but who didn't. Letting him walk for nothing is just bad business.

It's like an annual thing for the B's to be projected as a "bubble team" by alleged on- air-head experts. I read one projection that said this was the year the Sabres and Wings overtake the Bruins. Yeah, okay. With little cap space, the B's were rounded out by bargain bin signings. We knew goaltending would be the backbone of the club and it was too the tune of 47-20-15. How's that for a bubble team? Considering they lost 37 and 46, they did well. The end sucked but not the whole season. Sway emerged as a stud goaltender who once he signs his new deal with be the top dog in net for several years to come. Lohrei took massive steps forward in the playoffs. This kid is poised, confident with hopefully the best of him yet to come. Freddy increased his goal output. Wotherspoon wasn't too bad. They'll be back.

Keep DeBrusk but re-evaluate our perception and expectation of him. Is he a top-6 pure-scoring 'snipah'? Possibly not with his inconsistency. Is he a solid top-6 two-way player that scan score 20+ goals? Yes he is and any team, including the Bruins, need guys like him. Marchand and Coyle are our other two guys and Marchand has one year left on his deal and maybe a year after that in the tank.
The only problem with my take is that someone else will probably offer him more and he'll take the deal. Then DeBrusk will be another "How come we can't get guys like that on our team players"

Of course Haggerty lets Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins off the hoo
ZERO surprise there, it's who he is
As for his, "give the Bruins props for this season" trope?
    Are you F.N. kidding me?
Why was this a so-called "transition year" Joe?
That's right, because Don Sweeney had 9 years to find Bergeron and Krejci replacements and he never did.
Sweeney also cocked up their salary cap so much they had to, YET AGAIN, move assets for nothing but Cap Relief from the Cap Prison he built (Taylor Hall anyone), which forced bottom 6 guys to play Top 6 roles (which burned them in the post season) AND that's not even getting into the fact that Don Sweeney has led the Boston Bruins to the NHL's worst draft capital as well as the NHL's worst farm system
Can we please stop this LIE that Don Sweeney has moved all these draft picks to win
WRONG!!! Far too many assets have gone out of the door here in Boston just to fix drafting and UFA mistakes, in other words, to fix Sweeney's MISTAKES!!!
David Backes- A 1st round pick and their highest drafted player in 2018, 2nd round Axl Andersson, moved for nothing but Salary Cap Relief
Matt Belesky- Top 4 defender and 2nd round pick Ryan Lindgren had to be included in the Rick Nash trade to get NYR to take the remainder of Belesky's terrible UFA deal
And yet another 2nd round had to pissed away in the Lindholm deal to Anaheim so they'd take the rest of John Moore's terrible UFA contract
Also had Sweeney drafted better this past year wouldn't had to be a transition year. Again, they are 32nd and dead last in the NHL in terms of prospect pools and have NO draft capital.
Also had Sweeney used the Cap Space better they wouldn't have got stuck with the overages for 37 & 46 and they wouldn't have had to try winning in the playoffs this year with two guys in Coyle and Zacha who have PROVEN in spades they aren't top 6 guys.
They can't even play Zacha at center as he can't win puck battles and he has 1 career playoff goal in nearly 30 career NHL games.
Coyle is a good, defensive 3rd line center. He has 5 goals in his last 27 playoff games and is in no shape or form a competent Top 6 player
Whose fault is all of this Joe? Who is responsible for UFA contracts, drafting and developing? It's the GM Joe!!!
The GMs results? 8 of 9 years failing to win more than 1 playoff round. ONE, 2nd round win in 9 years with Don Sweeney as GM
NHL's worst draft capital. Not drafting until the 4th round this year. Not having a 2nd round pick again until 2026. Not having a 1st round pick five of the last seven years. Not having their top 3 round draft picks again until 2026
NHL's worst farm system that is currently ranked 32nd and dead last in the NHL.
Also, name me the NHL team with the fewest games played by draft picks since 2017? Uh oh, spoiler alert, it was the Boston Bruins. Getting the picture as to why the entities responsible for grading out prospect pools have Boston's in the toilet?
Spoiler Alert, Boston's crap Farm System led by Don Sweeney has never been ranked better than 27th. Which again, would be fine, if they actually won in the playoffs
The problem? 8 of 9 years they've failed to win more than 1 playoff round. ONE, 2nd round win in 9 years. The past 5 post seasons? Two, 1st round chokes. Three, 2nd round exits
The Bruins have their Homer driven fan based fooled. They build offensive limited teams, that win a ton of regular season games with above average goaltending and system execution. T
Then they bank a ton of regular season points against the NHL's bad teams and a crap ton of OT loser points against the NHL's good teams in the regular season.
However, when the playoffs begin every season, the Bruins offensive and other limitations rise to the top and once again and they either choke or simply get beat by better teams
Proof? 8 of 9 years Sweeney's Bruins have failed to win more than 1 playoff round. Only ONCE in 9 years have the Bruins won a 2nd round series, ONCE!!!
Combine that crap playoff record with the NHL's worst draft capital and the NHL's worst farm system and it's time to let Don Sweeney off the hook Joe?🤣🤣
Okay homer. Okay. Again they over achieved with this roster this year, sure. Why did this roster kind of suck again Joe and get exposed in the playoffs? Don F.N. Sweeney Joe. Don F.N.Sweeney
    NHL's worst farm system
    NHL's worst draft capital
    No real 1c or 2c
8 of 9 years failed to win more than 1 playoff round
ONE, 2nd round series win in 9 years, ONE!!!!
    Haven't won a 2nd round series since 2019
Since 2019 (the last 5 post seasons): Two 1st round chokes, Three 2nd round exits
Playoff choking dogs with flawed teams that get exposed every post season
    NHL's worst farm system
    NHL's worst draft capital
    No real 1c or 2c
But again, none of this is Don Sweeney's fault. Just ask Joe. They over achieved and Sweeney probably deserves another GM of the Year award
    Good grief😂😂😂😂😂
