A few points: 1. Damage resistance is capped at 80% no matter how much armor you have so is no reason to go stupid on armor. The armor numbers that get you to 80% are different depending on whether it's light or heavy and shield or shieldless, but the cap can be reached by as little as 600-something armor so stop there. However if you want to be "invulnerable" you can just Fortify Health to a stupid high number. You can be naked and it won't matter because your percentage-based natural healing would outpace any damage enemies could inflict, let alone just how long it would take to kill you without natural healing. 2. Carry weight is based on Stamina so you can get your carry weight stupid high by just doing it to Stamina. No need for both. You can save enchantment space for something else. 3. Once your Fortify Restoration is at those absurdly high numbers you should make an enchantment for Fortify Alchemy. That would keep you from having to start the loop over if you decide to do it again later.
Hello So i have orcish boots witht he fortify carrry weight enchant in theory after doing this Can't i get crazy fortify weight enchant on my dragonborn??

I'd also recommend seeing what level of enchantment potion you can make after each restoration one you drink, just to avoid going to far and crashing or breaking the game.

Awesome video on the enchanting/alchemy/smithing tricks, though no need to get your total armor rating (from all pieces combined) past ~700 as the 80% physical damage reduction armor hard-cap number to achieve is lower than that, also watching you scroll wheel 26 times in a row to get to Snowberry was painful to watch. The down arrow -rapidly- scrolls down in menus in Skyrim.
@@timothyburrows9622 Thanks for the reply. Alchemy level 42 now. I was able to get my Restoration Potions up to 711% but then it seemed to stop. I was okay with that, but when I made my Fortify Smithing it only had 140%... Fortify enchanting only had 35% buff... Not sure what to do.

Even though this comment is a month old I’ll still say that I know when you get to a point where your potions are insanely powerful the game sorta doesn’t work. I had an enchantment potion of +208,000,000% and I used to to make fort. Alch enchantments on some gear so I wouldn’t need to use the resto loop again and I had a helmet, ring, necklace and gauntlets of +104,000,000% each and I tried making potions and they were only 1-4%. So many you’ve made your gear way too strong and have taken the loop a bit too far. Fix this maybe by loading back and stopping a bit earlier 100,000% will be fine but I’d say don’t go passed like 50million%. I don’t really know if being too OP is the cause of your problem but I hope my rambling helped you out in the slightest.
Honestly I wouldn't really recommend it through the first time I think you should play the game throughout first and then do this cause it gets boring when you one shot everything yk?
How are you getting to 25% at the start? I have the same lvl 30 with points in the Alchemy tree and the same Diamond/Gold Ring, but its only increasing to 13%...what else do you need perks into or what else could be going wrong?
so I didn't get the 25% on the first alchemy enchantments I have grand soul gems with grand souls and 4point in enchanting skill am I missing something?
People complaining that it is pointless to do stupid armor with this...but, the point of the armor is not only to get to the 80% damage reduction point with ease, but, to also enchant the armor with stupid things such as +millions of HP.
As of today, 2/26/23, you can no longer disenchant the alchemy Ring of Pure Mixtures, and so I think the Dev's have fignured out a way to stop this form of adjusting(?) the game. Too bad. I really wanted that enchantment. Also, when I turned the ring in you cannot pick it from Frida's pocket. It just isn't there. Fortunately I'd saved the game before I turned it in to her and so was able to just reload and still have the ring. So apparently the Resto Loop won't work any more. At least I don't know how to do it since I can't enchant the four items with fortify alchemy. Sad, but thanks for an interesting video.
Update to my earlier message: I followed one of the other commenters suggestion and went to see Ryval(?) Sadri in Windhelm, and he did have a ring with Fortify Alchemy on it that I disenchant. So all's right with the world and I'm back on track. Thanks again for your excellent video!
It probably wasn't intended but it's more of an exploit than a glitch. Fortify Restoration in the game's mechanics actually reads "Fortify all spell effects." This includes spell effects gained from enchantments. There used to be a similar exploit involved with the Necromage perk and being a vampire, but that wasn't infinite. It was just a huge boost. I believe that has been patched but for whatever reason they never fixed the loop.
HELP. Something isn't working for me. All of my originally enchanted equipment just goes back to 11%. I still have the crazy strong potions, but the equipment is dead.

I don’t know why but this glitch doesn’t work for me I take off my armour drink the potion and put it back on but the modifier is only going up by like 1-2% each time I kept on doing it and the glitch capped at 16 do I need a higher level in enchanting
I don’t know why, when I do the potion loop, the potions stuck at 79% and 82%. Never increases again.
You need higher alchemy then
Mine capped at 86/47%
I have three armor peices all 8% potions creations
Can the armor have a total of 25% or do you need to have 25 for each?
Each piece can have 25% depending on the soul gem you use to enchant it.
Each piece can have 25% depending on the soul gem used to enchant it.
insane, just like Morrowind's alchemy, only there you only need to boost intelligence with spells beforehand rather than the skill
Really hoping to get on soon because I miss my Skyrim. Hoping the alchemy loop will work for me.
The alchemy loop is forever.
@@xeslana1426 not working as of today. I tried.
@@RenanMeloC May have been a problem in the steps you took? I just did it literally a minute ago after reading your reply to confirm.
It depends what base values your potions are starting at. If they're too low the effects don't stack fast enough and it starts reseting lower.
Best bet is to start at alchemy skill 40 with perks available unlocked. (I think you need 4 points.) That might help.
@@RenanMeloC try 3 points into alchemist, i did it a couple days ago and crashed my game twice
im doing it correctly though its not working its stuck at 39% i got it to 41% but it went back down and is now stuck at 39 and wont go any higher and it does not affect my fort alchemy gear despite me taking my gear off to chug the potion then puting it back on someone help

you don't need all three ingredients to make the potion, you only need the 2, that third ingredient isn't adding anything
please add a note in the description that you do NOT need 3 ingredients with the same effect.

@@noobly332 I haven't tried this exploit, but you only need two ingredients with the same effect to get a potion. it just baffled me how timothy didn't know this basic part of the alchemy mechanics while making this how-to video.
Restoration glitch armour enhancing is a waste of time as armour is capped at 80 % protection

I hear that humming noise every time I go in there it's the kids that are running around the place making that noise it is annoying sound

This might be PC only. Not sure.

So if you installed the Unofficial Patch, read the comments here, then uninstalled the Unofficial Patch, are you still hosed? I was reaching a hard stop at 14% for the wearable enchantments. While the potion was active they would be at 28% but when the Fortify Restoration potion wore off it would drop back down to 14%. I noticed Tim's initial enchantment of the wearables was STARTING at 25% and he apparently didn't use ANY potions for the first enchantments. My Alchemy is at 100 with all perk points spent in Alchemy and I've got crap. What I DON'T have is a full loadout of Enchanting. It is sitting at 46 with Enchanter 3/5. Is that the reason?
Same. Do you have any fix for that ?
@@alxn806 Actually I found I was overdoing things. I had so many "Fortify Alchemy" things on that it took too long to take them off, quaff the Restoration Potion, then put them back on before making the next potion. Once I simplified the Alchemy buff items to only 3 or so, I started seeing massive improvement. I currently have ten +1970% strength enchantment potions in my inventory. Apparently it is important to not have any enchanted items on when drinking the Fortify Restoration potions.
You can make ridiculous fortify stealth items with this right?
Absolutely.
my fortify restoration potions only make it 4% more powerful

I don’t really know if being too OP is the cause of your problem but I hope my rambling helped you out in the slightest.
im new with this game this video are what im looking for
Hell yea brother!
Little late but he has enchanting 100
Thank you for the info hope you get a lot of subs
where did you guys find the fortify alchemy enchantment?
I found it adventuring. Its a random enchantment that shows up on armor you find.
so it's doesn't work in non special edition.
Think they patched it for ps4, worked a few weeks ago but now it’s capped
Ah thats too bad. Still works in the vanilla game on PC (Steam) as far as I know.
It still works fool
Christmas.Demon KiLLJoy doesn’t work for me though
I play last gen so it's fine for me.
They don’t update skyrim anymore. If it starts to cap out enchant some armor with fortify alchemy then continue.
Mine is just bouncing in between 68 and 71
Edit: got up to 95 and it went down to 53
Same here just slightly diffrent
I'm not sure they patched this or not, they aren't working for me.
You don't need to use the salt pile's homie.
so I didn't get the 25% on the first alchemy enchantments I have grand soul gems with grand souls and 4point in enchanting skill am I missing something?
Put a third perk point in to Alchemist.
but that requires 40 also I want the 25 on my gear just in case, was the what you did to get 25% from first enchant? did you make a potion for it?
People complaining that it is pointless to do stupid armor with this...but, the point of the armor is not only to get to the 80% damage reduction point with ease, but, to also enchant the armor with stupid things such as +millions of HP.
I got my stuff to a high level and as soon as I tried to make new potions it just re set the % to 25 for me
Put three points into the first alchemy skill tree and it should work
As of today, 2/26/23, you can no longer disenchant the alchemy Ring of Pure Mixtures, and so I think the Dev's have fignured out a way to stop this form of adjusting(?) the game.
*that I COULD disenchant!!!
Is this patched right now? I cannot get it to work
Bruce Clark I couldn't do it either
I made a new save and I got it working... It took me 30 potions... Craft the potion, drink potion, unequip then enquip your gear, then repeat
Are you on Xbox?

Yes enchanting points help to increase what you are enchanting.
@@timothyburrows9622 alrighty then thanks. I just need perk points now
@@timothyburrows9622 how many points do I put into enchanting?
I don't remember ever using 3 ingredients to make any potion. 🤔
Ok so why does a restoration do this ? Is it a bug or is this just one of those dont question situations
Can guarantee that this works even with 5/5 alchemy perk
HELP. Something isn't working for me. All of my originally enchanted equipment just goes back to 11%. I still have the crazy strong potions, but the equipment is dead.

I’m about to make some ridiculous leather armor and enchant a wooden sword. I’ll be legendary!
Might be 10fps but still a better explanation than most other vids
Im a dumbass i thought i had to loop between fortify enchanting fortify alchemy and didnt even think about restoration
