- De Staat is een Nederlandse rockband uit Nijmegen. De band speelt sinds september 2007 in zijn huidige bezetting en is geformeerd rondom zanger en liedjesschrijver Torre Florim. De band dankt zijn naam aan een gelijknamige compositie uit de jaren zeventig van Louis Andriessen...
Hun optreden op 10 januari 2011 bij GI:EL (3fm). Met hun nieuwe single: Sweatshop. Hun nieuwe album: Machinery verschijnt in maart van dit jaar. Op de single sweatshop is niemand minder dan Kelly te horen. Die zelf deel uitmaakt van: the Routines.

So if anyone is still interresed in the female singer as I was after all this time, with her name (Kelly Thijssen) and her old band (Routines) from the comments I did a deep search (which involved finding the old Cargo website of the band and looking through some netherlands underground bands) and with some try and error I found out that she is now in a band named "Hey Team" which is still active.
And she goes by the name Koko Kelly now, which is why is so hard to find her.

Her voice blends so nicely with Torre and Rocco's. I wonder why they haven't given her any credit or utilized her on other songs...
I was expecting deeper voice from the big guy :D

Some of the dutch people are 'that' good in English that you don't hear the accent anymore. It's strange but true...

Dickey No, Dutch people have a different accent from Americans, a distinct one too.
Also, there was not much Dutch influence in the founding of America and there isn't much now. That's Germans who fit the bill on that one.
+asdfghjkl Right so the original name for New York wasn't new Amsterdam when it was founded and Harlem isn't derived from a lill city in the Netherlands called Haarlem
Willem Verstraten That's not very much considering how the British came along and took the place and renamed it New York. By the time of the American Revolutionary War most of the people considered themselves English.
who is the singing girl?
I know it's almost been a decade but to answer your question: we don't know. She isn't credited on the official website or anywhere else for that matter.

@@diabalotia doesn't look like her though. looked at the mv credits and it says she's nadir soltane but I never found any more songs with her vocals and pictures of her

Kelly is not part of this band. But she is part of the band called (the) Routines

The editing of this video must have been live too. Always a step behind. Great performance though.
Remember this is from 2011. I just re-uploaded this to UA-cam because the radio station itself didn't. It was already very poor quality.

Kelly Thijssen, she is part of the Routines. She was only on this single from De Staat.

I could only find one page: partyflock.nl/artist/51155/archive apparently that band doesn't exist anymore
