Thanks for this. I just got the big box and watched this to learn to play solo - very useful! Loving it so far, and there are so many different combinations!
Thanks for posting this Paul. Your demonstration is clear, and I now have a much better understanding of some of the dilemmas that Nusfjord throws up in each game.
Hi Paul, I really enjoy to watch the playthroughs of Nusfjord, one of my favorite Solo game. Your House Rule is also very interesting and I will try it for sure. Just a quick note. In the first 2 game when you are getting the C-Cards you have to put them on the free spaces on board. Not beside. So you are willing to build the buildings as much as you would like to see the C-Cards on the board. Otherwise they will not included into the game. THX
Are you sure? I can't see that in the rulebook anywhere. In the multiplayer game it specifically says C buildings go beside the board, and I can't see anything in the solo instructions that changes that.
I guess yes. As on the Round Space for Solo Game (or the advance one) mentioned „place 3 (or4) C Buildings in the Display“ not aside. To place them aside would be in a multiplayer game.
@@boardgamegreek The multiplayer tokens also mention putting C buildings in the display, and the rule book calls everything in the middle of the table 'the central display'.
Tom Wakefield ok, maybe you are right and the C Buildings could be put on a side. This is not clearly mentioned. In the rulebook only the A and B Buildings are mentioned that they have to put them on the display if there is free space otherwise the will not include into the game.
Late for this. Happened to acquire This and Glass Road via a trade. I played Glass Road first and enjoyed it very much. Nusfjord looks just as good. About house rules. I think your version is interesting for those that like the plan ahead. Personally, I enjoy the uncertainty. Especially when you have to change gears. It might not be great in an MP game but for solo much like Spirit Island Events, I like having to deal with the unknown. Thanks for the playthrough.
Blimey I love this game. Since you introduced the house rule I have used it ever since. Also in a fit of madness I upgraded the money tokens for real life Krone, doesn't change the game but it makes me feel like a real life Norwegian fisherman 😂
Thank you, Paul! This never looked interesting in the reviews & plays I watched (briefly), but I have just purchased the game and the Plaice expansion after watching your play-through. Your house rule makes sense to me. This will be my first Uwe. I feel like I'm drinking the purple Kool-Aid.
At 1:24:34 you are counting your score and put aside 3 Shares, commenting that they are not worth anything. They are worth one V.P. each! So, Game Two total is 42. Thanks for the play-through.
Incorrect. "Copy an Action- In 4- and 5-player games (and in the solo game, see last page), there is an Imitation tile below the Action board that allows you to copy blocked action spaces."

I'm here for the same reason! Agree 100%
Awesome playthrough, Paul! I like your house rule! One goof that I could see: the Builder should be on top of the Contractor in set-up.
So appreciative of the extra playthroughs. Solo modes aren't seen too much, so bonus!

I’ve watched this a couple of times now. Brilliant video. So clear to follow the game and learn how to play. I’ve just punched my copy.
I just finished punching MY copy..and am looking forward to two hours of fish-catching goodness!!!

Great video thank you Paul. I enjoyed watching this.
You can take an Elder even if you don't have a fish to trigger their action, you just have to forego getting that action.

I thought you WERE a Norwegian fisherman!

Interesting, lots of different ways to play solo. Have you played any other of Uwe’s games solo and if so would you recommend any of them?

Thanks. Missed that at the time.
actually, just looking back, this was the Longhouse where it says issued shares are worth no points.
Copy an action is just for 4 and 5 players game
