- In this video series, I would like to take you guys on my journey of panorama photography. In the next few videos I will show you how I transform this cheap toy camera into a pro panoramic camera, with which you can use to take amazingly detailed 6x12 images. Stay tuned and enjoy!
cameras used:
-sony rx100v
-holga 120 Pan MoDiFIeD

im very much still interested in a tutorial on how to mod this camera! Its probably the cheapest 6x17 setup one could build!
I forget what forum said this, but somebody great before me said that a larger negative often masks the flaws in the lens. It's amazing that you can take 6x12 images without breaking the bank.
Cool video - what helical did you use? Any chance you could do a video on how you put your camera together? PLEASE!!!!!!
hi, maybe this tutorial could be useful hean01.wordpress.com/2013/08/12/holgagon-6x12-planning-part-1/
if still interested I just found these links that might help:

Thank you for sharing. Nice job and great shot 👍
I liked your way of presenting very much! This casing is well known to me as body of Holga 120 WPC camera, panoramic pinhole, which I love. As to light leaks trough the back - I hardly had this issue on my camera. Try to carefully examine where it would be possible to leak-in from the back, adding microfoam next to the seams can be an option, but it may not be issue with the back at all, as you are making much of the modifications on the front, where leaks are likely to be introduced. As to the latches - sure enough, they are flimsy, and this is why I place pair of insulation tape strips across the latches, to hold them until the next film change. Works well, and they were not bothering me since. All-in-all, this body for 120 film is my favorite as well.
Hello Tian, thanks for a great video! I was wondering about those links or info you mentioned you'd add to the video description. I'm specially interested in the model/size and source for the Macro extender that matches your Schneider Angulon 90mm lens thread diameter...? Thanks in advance, and looking forward that "Part 3" video!
What a fantastic photo mate. Love it
Very beautyfull pictures! I'm hoping (and waiting) for part 3.
It's so dope to see how you put this together. Thank you for sharing. After I saw your first video, I went ahead and bought a new Holga 120 Pan, and depending on how much I like the lo-fi aesthetic it provides, I may go ahead and mod it the way you did here. Thanks again, really appreciate the inspiration.
thanks dude, glad that you find this helpful, good luck with your mod if you ever decide to do it!
Really great shots. And the idea of shooting panoramic at 120 film by using the large format lens is just stunning. Was thinking of 3d printing the parts needed half trough the video until you mentioned it finally :)
Shout out from Just across the water (Vancouver Island) Fantastic work and beautiful images.
gigantic great video tutorial... thanks for presenting it...
I have built a Nimslo / Holga 35mm, but my 1st shots failed with a 35mm lens.
So I attached the 60mm Holga lens and the new film is at the processors lab.
My dream is to shoot with a 120 film pano camera, but they are way too expensive.
your information is very helpful. now to see your other videos -- cheers...... Bo
I have never had a problem with light leaks on my on my6x6 Holgas. I use heavy rubber bands, one at the top and the other at the bottom. You may have to search for rubber bands that are long enough to accommodate the greater width of the this camera, but it's worth a try.
Those photos are superb! Great job there.
this is excellent! part 3 pretty please? 😍
wow that's awesome
Simply great
Awesome work!
Awesome!
Very cool
super inspiring video ! LOVE the shots you are sharing boss. SO COOL ... making me want to Frankenstein something exactly like YOURS TAHNK YOU! ... INSPIRING ALL AROUND! COLOR ESP! YEW!
thanks man, glad you enjoyed it!
New subscriber here. Anxiously awaiting part three..! Btw: have you considered a pistol grip which fits into the tripod socket? Makes everything even bigger but a lot more comfortable to carry around too. (I recently bought one new on eBay for about €5.) Keep it up, in 2021!
Wow! Very interesting. The 3d printer is a fantastic idea, I think you can totally fix the issues with the back by printing some additional parts.
Thanks! I ended up buying a printer to print a new back with extra baffle around the edges, but somehow there's more light leak :'D the universe punishing me for fixing something that's not broken
I love the modifications of this camera. I wonder how it would perform in architectural or street photography? Love the pictures that you took.
You are awesome, and your photographs are great. This video is wonderful too, but when you cut to the 4x5 photo it OBLITERATES this format. 4x5 is SO BEAUTIFUL. But again, you are really chill and talented and love your park photo, etc.
I had this same exact thought and searched it - then found your video. Great work and great explanations of everything. Wonder if you’re still using it a year later?
Hi. Nice toturial.but i can find the Macro extender you use. Can you help please?
As far as I know, the Angulon 65mm doesn't cover 6x12 image area, you need a Super Angulon 65mm to do it.
dude this is sick! have you thought about just putting foam light seals in the back like on normal film cameras? could be a lot easier to stop leaks. not sure if holga was discontinued when you got yours but they are now, so these are def harder to find. i'm also thinking, instead of taking the lens cone off you can get the pinhole version instead, and if you're going to 3d print a new back and a new grip, should you just print a new camera? the only thing that makes me wonder is the shutter mechanism, but it looks pretty simple anyway from your part 1. if i end up making my own i'll make a vid about it
I make my own production of monocle lenses, so I liked the modification of your Holga. I have a Voigtlander Anastigmat 1: 6.3 / 105mm, its a very soft and gentle drawing. I think it is possible to modify the Holga with it.

cool
Hello Tian, what specific adapter did you use on this Holga mod? The 90mm lens I have has a rear thread of 25mm, is that the same as your Linhof 90mm? Did you have to use a step up ring to get the macro adapter to fit? Thanks for letting me know.
“It originally had a pink’ish tint to it, because of the sun I guess” 😭😭😭
Did you ever complete the 65mm mods you had planned to do? I'm inspired to mod one of these for myself...
Hi - Could you let us know the maker, model and size for the Macro extender that matches your Linhof Schneider Angulon 90mm lens thread diameter. And details for the rangefinder you used, so we can try to source these. Thanks.
Tian, will that 65mm lens have a wide enough image circle to cover the 140mm pano film width?
I did more research and realized that it probably won't have enough coverage. I think those 65mm lenses were originally intended for 6x7 film backs, has heavy vignetting even on 6x9.
@@tianchen9483 Thank you, I will look on eBay for a more appropriate medium format lens..... On my home built 120 film camera I have scaled down the image capture size to 60 x 120mm... I will go back to eBay and scrounge around for a reasonable medium 90mm medium format lens.... have a great day ... Bo
was anyone able to find a link to this macro extender he's using?? i found one on amazon that's similar, but don't know if its exact!
What size micro focusing did you use?
What adapter are you using?
What are all of the attachment used on this camera?
Is there anyway I could ship one to you and pay to make and ship back?
I just wrote on an other YT;ber to change to a REAL OPTICAL GLAS Lens , and I find you by LUCK, Funny, seems to work great and nice photo... /// McRoman /// SWEDEN
