$300 Hasselblad XPan? Make this 3d printed panoramic film camera at home! Making a Brancopan camera

- Does a panoramic 35mm film camera have to cost over $4000? You can make this open source Brancopan camera at home with a 3D printer for less than $300! Consider this a stylish rival for the ($$$) Hasselblad XPan!
All you will need:
1. A 3d printer.
2. About 2 rolls of 1kg filament.
3. Paint, if you want to paint your camera.
4. A Mamiya Press lens. I use the 75mm version. Its sharpness and color are amazing!
5. (optional) A viewfinder. I bought a Mamiya 75mm viewfinder together with the lens, but you can just 3d print one (with no optics, of course)
6. A mechanical shutter release cable. They sell for about $5 on Amazon.
Many thanks to Cameradactyl for releasing the design of this great camera for free! Check out their website: www.cameradactyl.com/
You can find the design / STLs for this camera on GitHub: www.cameradactyl.com/
Thanks to NCS for the free music:

Very interesting and inspiring! I’m anxious to see the results of you shooting pics on this….zone focusing it, etc.
I donated to the Kickstarter for this, but will need friends to do the 3D printing for me.
Again, thanks and looking forward to seeing more!

hand made is valued much more than finished goods. I myself try to model and print full frame lenses. I liked your work very much 🤝
I wouldn't have believed it had I not watched it. AMAZING
Just Amazing, Congrats!!
awesome project. Keep on rockin
Wow, a bit big but very crazy. Nice Job
un magnifique travail !!
Very nice work ;-) It makes me want to use my printer again very soon. @4:20 I would always choose black material and not paint it…
And yes, you won yourself a new subscriber ;-)
Very cool although I feel that a more fitting name for it would be The Frankin-Pan.
Very interesting concept.
Do you have a link to your custom back door? :D
Wow, that's not my usual interest but thank you for this video and thank you to the guy who made his work open source for others. #cameradactyl
Gr8 job!!!!
Aww bro! Congrats man, it looks just like an X-Pan!! ahah, jk. Great vid and enjoy that beast!
It is quite difficult for me to believe you had really made this camera.
My jaw had dropped for good 15 min.
You're madman!
Great video
Amazing work!
Hi JZ. really like the camera and wish to print it. But where can I purchase the stl files from> The link you provided only gives the stl files for the dials and frame counters.
Hi Mohd! Actually, the STLs are released for free in GitHub: github.com/cameradactyl/Brancopan
Thanks
This is art. Well done sir.
Are you taking orders???
Let's not miss that it's being printed on a Voron... :)
You might as well make it a medium-format camera... it's now bigger than a car battery.
This should receive more clicks than this ...
Hope to see the pics soon!
cool!
b站老早就关注了,今天刚打开youtube就看见了
WTF man??? Excellent work!! Congratulations!! Please tell me you're unemployed?
Wowww............. How did you come up with such an intricate design of all those working parts??
They didn't check the description for where you can get the files to make your own!
is there one for 120 film?
Yeah, they sell several of them 3D printed or the blueprint and you do it yourself. In 6x12, 6x17 or even 6x24. You can search them in google. Can’t post link in UA-cam.
haha yeah film camera price really make me cry now. specially x pan
Given the size of this thing it's more comparable to shooting with an adapted medium format than shooting with an xpan, especially given that you're using a medium format lens. The entire idea behind the xpan is that it's akin to a leica m6 in size but shoots double wide exposures.
The price is what is being negated here, not the form factor
What the fun in that
I paid $700 for mine back when they were unpopular, about 15 years ago.
Couldn't you have made it out of black material so you wouldn't have to paint it?
finally he understand why it worth $6000.
Xpan... ...sive
Could you make the design any bigger? 😂
Very nice technical project, wonderful. but just a total nonsense from photographical POV. why to use a 6x17 capable lense to downgrade quality to a 35mm film. strnage to me.
太大了 没意思 都是塑料件 你确定这玩意能用
Nice work but couldn't watch the video because of the atrocious music.
Maybe more timelapse clips with upbeat music for the assembling process will be better, compared to long and dull footage that make people feel sleepy.🌝🌝
I appreciated that JZ took the time to show all the work involved. But I'm ols ;-)
Talking would be useful.
