Well how does the switch of purple and orange positions help in broadcast clarity? The two, four, six and eight balls were often indistinguishable on low resolution color TV --- and what tv isn't color these days --- so moving the purple next to the green six meant the six had to change to pastel pea green, then the brown seven -- often confused with the purple four -- changed to robin egg shell blue, made the four pink, and they started a ridiculous domino effect, lol.

9 ball can be like that - there is absolutely more "luck" in 9 and 10 ball than there is in other disciplines like one pocket, straight pool, snooker, 3 cushion billiards. From the very start of a game of 9 ball or 10 ball the outcome has a huge element of randomness - luck. 9 ball goes in on the break or hangs in a pocket, , cue ball freezes to another ball or to a cushion unintentionally, kisses, caroms, jump shots, long combination shots...anything can happen at any moment. Take SVB getting his "golden break" - random - lucky as hell. for a moment it looked as if the 9 ball was not going to fall into the pocket - and if it did not fall in the rack would have belonged to the kid. Comparing this game, respectfully, to the 1994 US Open championship, there is no comparison. I am just wondering what happened? I dare never to post a question without a solution so, my solution: 4” pockets No jump cues No timers Fastest rolling cloth only Ease is the enemy of progress
I really hate that the US open isn't commentated by American's.. Not that I have anything against these guys.. Seem alright, But this is the US open not a European Tournament.. Americans should comment on American tournaments..
It's a stupid idea when the first balls were purple 4 ball and orange 5 ball, to change to pink 5 ball and switch again to pink 4 ball and purple 5 ball. If you were going to release the balls again why not just make the 4 purple again like the original and the 5 pink. I was watching and got messed up a few times by the colours.

@@anon2414 It looks that way at first glance due to parallax error, but 1:20:04 gives a better look at the shot from above and he certainly would have missed the pink 4 here. 2/9 may have worked out better but when you're playing one of the world's best players, shots like that are super risky unless they're all but guaranteed.
@@procrastinator6902I viewed what you talked about. The angle is not there to go below the pink ball so the cue ball can go towards the 3 ball. The cue ball would have to go towards the corner pocket leaving a long shot for the 3 like I said earlier. Exactly why he shot bottom English. That's why Karl boyes said he could have went for the 2 9 combo. The shooter and commenters are thinking like me
great play by this young man but flubbed his preparation for the 3 ball on the last rack...blessings to all
Yeah bit of an awkward spot on the two, but so much area for the cue ball where the 3 was easily pot-able
Great match
Fuckin shane dude.perfect player
I am still a bit salty that they made the four pink and the five purple. Why not keep the four purple and just change the five from orange to pink. Such a stupid decision.
Sorry I am still learning pool, why did they end the game early around 9 min 30?
Made the 9 early
I don't get why his dad, or someone in the crowd, didn't tell him he was lined up on the wrong ball. They are sitting like 10 feet from him he definitely would have heard
probably not allowed
Shane wouldn't have heard it... but the ref might have.
Keep it up kid.
Experience wins.
What would happen if somebody yelled "wrong ball" and then Joey shot the correct one?
1:15:00 I have complained about the damn 4 ball from the beginning and caught hell for it here on spewtube.
@8:12 How are they shining light on just the tables without having the whole place be super bright?
Just finished last rack and one of the commentator’s
( Carl boils)?, is “cheeky “?
enough to say about Joey
Tate, “he should buy a set
of theseenglish balls”
No no no,how bout y’all buy a set of American balls
for to put on the U. S. Open
I don't like the break template. The ref has to move balls just to remove it nearly every time. Plus on the break after Shane's 2nd game the announcers talk about how the template moved the cue.
It's good for easy racking, especially on felts that can't keep the ball in place.
I am glad Shane won. I did not think that I could hate that F**king purple five ball more! but now I do.
🤣
El Golden BREAK de SVB
Me desespero ver jugar a Tate casi en todos los tiros, taco arriba.
Efern “Bata” Reyes is the greatest of all time.
US Open or just a weekend tournament at your local bar, only someone who doesn't take competition seriously would let his opponent know that he is shooting at the wrong ball. Save that for practice or when your playing your mom!
It is a shame you have to watch these matches on mute because the Commentator can't be quiet.....someone Put a muzzle on him.
Hmm.. just my observation and I am no way as good as anyone in the tournament but, I see a big difference between players of today and players of yesterday. Comparing this game, respectfully, to the 1994 US Open championship, there is no comparison. I am just wondering what happened?
I dare never to post a question without a solution so, my solution:
4” pockets
No jump cues
No timers
Fastest rolling cloth only
Ease is the enemy of progress
Joey for Mosconi????
in a few years for sure
I really hate that the US open isn't commentated by American's.. Not that I have anything against these guys.. Seem alright, But this is the US open not a European Tournament.. Americans should comment on American tournaments..
he was confused between the numbers or colors, but he is considered to be the winner of this game.....
No, no he's not considered to be the winner... he lost. He did however win a valuable lesson lol
@@davidrodriguez7627 ok
Why is there no shot clock in this game?
wow us got next svb please jermy jones save him rather than playing your besties.
Got a nice technique had tate
It's a stupid idea when the first balls were purple 4 ball and orange 5 ball, to change to pink 5 ball and switch again to pink 4 ball and purple 5 ball. If you were going to release the balls again why not just make the 4 purple again like the original and the 5 pink. I was watching and got messed up a few times by the colours.
THE COLORS ARE WRONG! THE VIOLET MUST BE 4 BALL. VIOLET = 4.
They have so many sets of different color ball sets! They should just go back to the original colors tv be damned!
