I think that it is impossible for one not to feel sad and sorry about losing such a person. He brought so much joy to so many. In the 80's when I was still a young teenager I always tried to make my hair look like his. I cannot remember the number of trips to the hairdresser and the number of gels and hairsprays I used to buy. You know. If you looked like George you wouldn't have any problems with the girls. That is gone now ... like my hair. Sadly.

You are very right. I think it had to do with the woman that he fell in love with first. She had no desire to be with a pop star. She wanted to be in a normal relationship. Just be at home & in love & happy. He talked about her in the book Bare. He'd thought she was wanting him because of his fame & money. Then when he pushed her for changing their friendship into a love affair. She turned him down flat because of who he was and because he was too rich Tore him apart. Shattered him. He got into fights with David and Andy. He said he went all "macho" for about 6 months. But the truth is he never stopped loving her

I remember in 1996 George had hit the top spot with Jesus to a child and kate was a entertainment editor for the daily mirror anyway kate decided to surprise George by turning up to his house with a cake to congratulate him on his return to the number 1 spot now i dont think they’d met or whatever at that point but Kate always loved him anyway she rang through at the security gate an his mate David Austin answered then came to the gate saying that’s very kind but George is dieting so were band from cake but hippy Georges golden Labrador loves cake n with that gave it the dog she was gutted even more when they both shot past her in his car now George himself said later in an interview how he felt awful she was a fan after all but i made it up to her with a gift an she still loves me. From that day to this av been dying to know what is was.
I think George was referring to his outside activities, like his cruising on Hampstead Heath and the public toilet incident in LA. It was meant as a joke, as the tv presenter Kate asked George to come on the show so she could physically touch him.
George had the natural charisma to charm anyone. He was just so normal and down to earth.
