Wanted to cry!Only thing damaged was the pins that slide in to the battery. Bent the pins back and business as usual.

I’ve moved to the Milwaukee platform but I used to have Makita. The hammer drill was awesome. I bought it in a 3 piece kit with a impact driver and reciprocating saw. It was awesome, I loved those tools. I bought them back in 2008 and I gave them to my brother a couple years back. They still work great! I think Makita makes a nice quality tool. Would like to see that Hammer drill against the M18 Fuel Gen 3. Great video, have a great night! 👍🏻
First I want to say that I enjoy watching your channel. The enthusiasm you have with the tools and the reviews are outstanding also entertaining as well as informative. I recently purchased a makita combo kit from home depot (not the kit you have just reviewed because it was slightly over budget) for under 300 and it came with a free tool of choice. The combo kit was XT269M. It came with a hammer drill xph12, impact driver xdt13, a rapid charger, 2x 4ah batteries and a bag. Tool of choice I got the grinder xag04. I have to say, having used makita at the two shops I work for has made me a believer and now an owner.
I love my makita tools, I work as a tow truck operator I had the old brushed impact wrench until I was able to buy the new brushless makita impact wrench. I have had makita tools since 2013 and they take abuse and still keep on going to work. And the new impact was assembled in the USA
Thanks for the VCG for having more Makita in the channel, I just got the Makita drill, the model you got at 399.99 with just the batts and charger, that thing is a beast!! Makita is just something else compare to other brands
I'll say this about the Makita bag zipper. When I first tried it, it was exactly like in this video. After you actually put the tools in it, there are ZERO problems with the bag. Opens and closes fine, no problems at all.
Hands down I have the same combo kit and nothing out can touch it . Having to drill through 6" of pt lumber and 8" PVC with a ⅝ auger bit. To fasten 16" all thread to tighten it all up. MAKIITA gets 'er done. Also had to show different crews on jobs about the different charging tones so that i knew when mine were done charging, and vice versa. I hope Makita adds more tones or be able to download or add are own.
I have a XPH07 and am thinking about upgrading to the XPH14 but Makita did not include their AFT (Active Feedback Sensing Technology) which would have been a great safety feature. I’d like to see a head to head comparison of the XPH07 and the XPH14 to see if an upgrade would be worth the money. Also I wish Makita would go back to the hard case for the drill/impact combos because the bags don’t hold up to daily use.

Hey thanks for the heads up on this. I just picked mine up today and salesman found a 2 pk of lxt 6.0 batteries he had buried on back endcap. I got 2 pack for $90 on clearance and he took off an extra $10 because I had to wait for him for a little bit. Walked out with combo kit, 2-5.0 and 2-6.0 lxt batteries and bit kit for $515. Love Makita! Have the XTD16 impact driver. What an awesome tool. Waiting for the drill to come out as tool only on sale or in a kit with something that I don’t already own. As always enjoy “The Channel “.
I just sold my coworker my two dewalt drills and DeWalt impact with 7 batteries and three chargers for this kit. I already have almost $2k in Makita tools and batteries and decided to go all Makita finally. Don't regret it one bit. Such a nice drill. I only paid $229 on sale for holidays as well at a local hardware store. I work mostly with aluminum and occasionally steel as a fabricator. This set up is way stronger than I need. Also I don't care about the bags because I have a rolling tool box. Lol
I went thru 2 of those XPH14Z. When hammer drilling into concrete. It will drill just fine when it comes out of the box. But it will then come to a point where it will stop drilling. As in, stop spinning. I pull the drill out of the whole and it will be able to spin again. In turn I put the drill right back in the hole and it will hammer drill for a little bit until it stops spinning again. So, for the jobs that I use it for. Doesn’t really work for me. The idea is great to have a small hammer drill that you can hang off your belt. But I had to settle for a small cordless Rotar Hammer Drill instead.

No s**t on the power. I just got one and there are bits flying everywhere. Be careful when spinning it to loosen the chuck with your hand. Yesterday I had a 4" hole saw and arbor fly around the room. The torque and speed of this thing is unbelievable. I'm going to hang some drywall today. Going to be using my old 18v Makita instead.
Just picked up my Makita XPH14 Hammer Drill and XDT16 Impact Driver combo set on sale from HD for $329. The Makita XPH14 will be used as my masonry drill for installing HVAC electrical disconnect boxes. I enjoy using my Milwaukee M12 impact driver for HVAC service tech applications but I decided on the Makita 18V system for commercial HVAC and installations because the impact driver has two bearings in the collet compared to the Milwaukee Gen 3 M18 only having one.
This video helped a ton I just bought this kit I’ve been a fan of makita for awhile I got it and I absolutely love how compact the drill is definitely a lot smaller than my old makita kit
@VCG Construction - I have the rear handle circ saw and the bag has the same issue. Love the saw, though. What’s up with the single battery charger? 400 bucks they could have thrown in the double.
I actually just bought the new XT288T and then I bought the 40 Volt version of the same kit basically, and I am telling you the truth the 18 V is just as good as the 40V, it’s just as powerful, but half the weight, of course I have the XDT 19 impact drill, the newer kit comes with it instead of the XDT 16. Plus the 40 V system is heavier by quite a bit especially with the battery. They come with 2.5 AH batteries, but because it’s 40 V it’s still 90 watt hours, just like the 5 AH 18v. If you’re trying to decide, I’d suggest getting the 18V version unless you’re a contractor that requires it for all the other tools that they make for the 40V system. Just my thought about this.
Bro…the masonry bit you drilled a 1/4” away from the bucket where the concrete would crumble and have movement against the plastic making it super easy. Should’ve drilled right in the middle for an accurate assessment
This is the best hammer drill I've ever use. Super quiet, super strong. No hammer drill comes close to this one. It truly is amazing

Got this set last year with a bonus tool and they’re great. The bag is great to put all your tools in when you’re doing a job.
I love Makita and am confident that it can take on the Milwaukee
I wanna see that comparison next!!!!!
I have that drill set and at work I went against a Milwaukee fuel and a hilti hammer drill we drilled thru an inch thick metal and my makita came out on top!!!! Shout out makita!! My impact and hammer drill came in a hard case
The zipper part had me laughing. Living in a amish paradise. Lolzzzz.
I think power detect or flexvolt advantage would be a strong competetor.
Dewalt also have lock tight on hook
Great test, you always make me want to go and buy tools.
for the drill battle - why not make it a 3 way - Makita vs gen 3 Milwaukee vs Bosch - GSR 18V-110 C - they seem to be in the same price range. Should prove entertaining and informative.
We used those 1 inch bits that were 2 feet long for drilling through mezzanine floors to run 3/4 inch copper pipes through
I like the button option, do it, do it.
I just got this kit with 2 additional tools on black friday deal at home depot for 399. Killer deal.
I definitely like the old square padded bags they used to give with the tools. My bag has the same zipper issue...
I have a good hand full of Makita's old 9.6v line still, all with the hard cases. Makita pls make my case hard again.
Good job vince for the review
And it comes in theft-deterrant blue
COME ON MAKITA!!!!!!!
Innovators not imitators . Makita is king baby
Gotta see that thing on TTR goin up against the Milwaukee Gen 3 or the DEWALT flexvolt advantage 👍👍 💥
This video helped a ton I just bought this kit I’ve been a fan of makita for awhile I got it and I absolutely love how compact the drill is definitely a lot smaller than my old makita kit
Ah yes, My fellow Spyderco ally, Of course you got the new tanto para2. So sick!!!! Your vids are the bee’s knees Broski! Spyderco forever!🤘🏽🤘🏽
@VCG Construction - I have the rear handle circ saw and the bag has the same issue. Love the saw, though. What’s up with the single battery charger? 400 bucks they could have thrown in the double.
Milwaukee Rules!!!
TTR vs. Gen 3 Milwaukee.
Let's goooo....
My dad just got this set for around the house and occasionally at the job site and I'm kinda excited to use it in the shop
Just bought one because of you and I’m so happy!!
MAKITA TIME BABYYYY!!!
Who else puts a thread locker on the threads?
🤔
First thing that came to mind was magpul. But those are accessories for different toys.
🤣🤣👍🏻
Got the this combo from Home Depot for $280 plus tax 👌 🙌 😀 👍 😎 Happy Father's Day to myself. THANKS DAD. YOU WELCOME DAD.
I just got this kit today for $263 on Amazon. I also had a $100 gift card so I got it for $163 out of pocket 🔥
Milwaukee against Makita bro!!!!
