- Lets look at this super cheap #ferrex Cordless Reciprocating saw from #aldi
Ideal if, like me you have a wood burning stove and want to take the hard workout of the cutting, the video quickly goes over what you get in the box and then at the end you can see it in action!
Let me know in the comments if you have one or are thinking of getting one
After you have watched this video, go take a look at the ferrex cordless impact drill! ua-cam.com/video/WSJhzmgpdSU/v-deo.html
I regret not buying one of these when they were in the store. Looking online it's going to cost me circa £60 to buy a no-name saw with 1 battery and a charger. Then those wouldn't have the same 3 year warranty as this one.
Can you post an update if you see them back in the stores?
I will do, they had a big pack of blades in the other day for 2.99 on sale! Had to buy some lol
Saw 1 in Aldi High Wycombe tonight
A rookie mistake is to use the standard blade for pruning. I use a Diablo carbide blade for that purpose very versatile tool.
The blade that is bundled with the tool is average- made for a price. This is the bit which actually does the cutting but these are bits that you need to change for the material you are cutting. There is nothing wrong with the saw itself.
Thanks for your comment, I would disagree with your ‘rookie mistake ’ comment, the whole reason behind most of my videos are the fact that the average person ( like me) can use a tool or whatever straight out the box, the Diablo carbide blade probably cost about 2/3rd of the whole cost of the tool, eventually if you decide it’s worth a spend, then, perhaps you would spend a little more on a better blade for whatever job, the blade that comes with the saw is an average multi purpose blade that does the job it’s intended for and nothing more, I’m sure that if you wasn’t a so called “rookie” you would have a more professional tool for the jobs in hand, I also believe we all know which ‘ bit’ does the cutting. Hey listen, it’s Sunday morning and after a long week at work I find it difficult sometimes to put up with condescending comments but as I always say thanks for your comment, it’s always appreciated
This is the only tool I couldn’t get from Aldi. They had the corded one but not the cordless. Bit gutted really.
I’m sure they will turn up again soon, it’s a beast of a tool, I’ve been using it a lot now winter has arrived, thanks for the comment I always appreciate them,
Used mine once to cut a small tree branch and now it’s knackered. The tool looks sturdy enough but in reality it’s a piece of crap.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that @stuartstorer9274 I’ve absolutely hammered mine, given it some right punishment and it’s still going strong, take it back and get a replacement
I believe the real reason you had no success is because you are using a general purpose blade for pruning. That’s likely to breaking the blade and cut extremely slowly. Creating a lot of heat. I replaced the standard GP blade for a carbide Diablo pruning blade. Although only 12v cuts through branches like butter. 🎉
