They had amazing musicians perform with and record with them on their albums - playing with some of the most successful musicians in their sphere of influence - made it in time to go on MTV in some of the golden years that was left of that media corporation. The guys started Sheet Happens in collaboration of some Prog/rock/metal/etc. giants, and continue to do well as their primary source of income (relatively speaking). Their records, merch, and services often go sold out (up for debate considering how things are marked out of scarcity - however, still very impressive compared to their constitutes. The fans kept them afloat for sometime and continue to do so (again, relatively speaking), and to this day are working on new material with lives of their own. To this day, I listen to Rody's podcast and partake on the Patreon as a token of the many years and memories that they provided for myself and my friends. This is all not to gaslight your claim here as I see the enthusiasm and agree to some degree; however, at what point do they finally meet being properly "rated"? The life is about the journey rather than the fleeting conclusion that we hope for. The band has had an incredibly long shelf life and has stayed true to this day whilst retaining their identity (even through the changing of it's members). Many great bands came after who sought inspiration through PTH, which does age well for them while they continue to create. *I like to write, so, that explains this overtly long response.* Cheers,

Ahh a man of culture I see. Seriously after seeing you burn through so many songs on the daily I am really curious what your tastes are and you could not have picked a better band to express that to me! I had the pleasure of seeing these guys way back in 2007 and also recently last year on Halloween and both times got to meet the band members and get some cool stuff signed, truly one of my favorite bands of all time! KIller axe and cover!
Man, I got so hooked on their first 3 albums. The first album (maybe EP?) doesn’t get referenced as much, but I really like the weirdness on that one too.
Calculated Use of Sound? It also wasn't readily available for a long time. The band finally put it on streaming platforms a few years ago after giving it away to subs on Bandcamp during the Pacific Myth run, and it just got its first ever pressing on vinyl last month!
Hells. Effing. Ya, bro. Very nice. One of my all time favorite bands, Roddy is the absolute boss. I'm kinda old, 40, and I've owned a lot of basses. I've never subscribed to the tone wood kinda of argument. Between things like fresh or old strings, a couple of pedals, like the mxr compression and maybe a tube screamer, to a nice rig like an amped svt 4 pro, I've found that you can pretty much make any instrument sound a certain way and how you want it to sound. It's pretty universal. But, I gotta say, those dingwalls truly sound like nothing else. Even Warwick, or foderos, or whatever the hell Les claypool plays, dont really sound that unique to me. I can sound sound pretty damn close to any of that with my trusty Ibanez. Dingwall definitely has a sound. Cant mistake it for anything else. I love it. Maybe one day I'll be able to snag one. Phew. Sorry for ranting. Sick cover, sick song, sick band. Glad you're not sick anymore. Be well, homie. Thanks for the rad content. Also, StS still rules.
