You hit the nail on the head. I am a widow and do have friends, but this Christmas season has been more tough on me than normal. Perhaps it is the economy - not enough money to do what I would like to do, etc. I think perhaps one other thing that is depressing is seeing Face Book friend's pictures with all the happy parties & get togethers when I don't have those in my life. Been praying about it and the Lord has been helping me concentrate on others and texting and calling, etc. Thank you for your video (and I am finally getting better at "fussy cutting").
Thank you for your video and for reminding all of us that there are people who are lonely for one reason or another. I sent out some Christmas cards to quite a few people, not expecting one in return, they are elderly or alone without family. I would like to add a few hacks I use. First of all your first statement is the most important you need good scissors...I use Cutter Bees they are very sharp and they cut all the way to the point. Sometimes I use a hole punch in areas where it's hard to get the scissors into. Sometimes I ink the edges with ink and a dabber to add color. I find fussy cutting very relaxing and have cut literally hundreds of pieces of clip art for cards, books, designs etc. I keep all the pieces in 4 x 6 plastic bags ready to use when needed....thanks again for your video and your concern for others...God Bless.
I have been stamping for 33 years, long before die cutting existed for us crafters. Been amazed at how many people really are bad with scissors. I hope this video helps people try to do it. Your tip on using smaller scissors is an important one. Thanks! 😊
I have several people that are by themselves. These people are on the top of my card list. I send cards for every holiday, just so they know I am thinking of them.
I’m trying to be more patient with my fussy cutting. I have discovered that if I am not stressing over perfection, it can actually be a calming experience!! Happy New Year to you and yours, Anna!!
THANKS FOR SHARING THIS!! But i find,Don't do this if you're in a hurry to get card done. Lol i unusually use a marker color of ink snd go around the edge it covers up alot and does look like you cut it out. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
I taught grades 1-3 for 36 years and found that in addition to reading, math ,writing, etc. I had to teach cutting with scissors. Glad we both do it the same way. Having handle holes large enough and blades sharp enough is important. I recommend Fiscars children’s scissors. They are most reasonably priced right after school begins and school supplies are reduced in price.
Another thing to do is send people cards just for no reason! I consider my card making my ministry! I often will pray over my cards asking the Lord to use it bless someone else, and that they will feel His presence when they receive it.
That is so nice sending cards for no reason...I use to make cards for a nursing home for Valentines day...I love how you referred to it as yor ministry....and I'm sure the Lord blesses your cards...thanks for sharing.
