Wow, I think this is the first time I've seen you having to bleep out word 😂 This series is super fun to watch - it's practically a different game from stock KSP, and as always I love your narration!
I know it’s still a while away, but once your kerbal is in flight/space, they don’t have to be trained for any other craft, just the launch craft. So if you launch a command module to orbit then it wouldn’t have to be trained in the landing module.
Thanks. Are you sure that didn't change with RP-1 version 3. I believe one of the things they did with that upgrade was make the training more widely necessary.
i always use the space shuttle runway when im landing my X planes the extra runway gives you way more room to flare, and a much more comfortable landing.
Great stuff as always. Be glad this X-1 doesn't simulate the real X-1, which had ulmar leather gaskets for liquid oxygen, which is considered a no-no. Interesting the game doesn't have a glide path indicator.
You could also have recovered to hangar then opened the file for the saved X1 craft. The game recognizes that the parts were built already and updates the build time accordingly
You can do this by clicking edit in the KCT window then when you are in the SPH with the broken craft in front of you, just open saved crafts and click X1 then save edits. This has worked for me many times when repairing a plane before in stock and ive used it to update rockets in storage that I have already completed construction on in RP1
@@MikeAben yea i want to do eva in sandbox mode only with the mod enabled i also selected all the kerbals to start training but it always says 1 naut left
Another mod that might help me land my rocket plane. I’ll have to try it. I really really cant fly a plane to save my kerbals life. Lots of exploding bits skipping down the runways.
UPDATE: so it turns out I can land a plane. Just not with out of the box SAS. Stopping is a problem though I feel like you have to turn on SAS right after you land to kill the engine and stay in a straight line otherwise it flips when I hit the breaks with FBW turned on

You've got me googling about the gaskets. Nasty.

@@MikeAben Yes, indeed. This is why the Bell X-Planes made it into Bill Gunston's Back to the Drawing Board.

Hey, I noticed you are some how editing parts of the X1, could you tell me what mod that is?
If you are referring to the procedural tanks and wings that I can change the dimensions of. That's the Procedural Parts mod.
Thanks Mike! Off topic, but your KSP beginner tutorial is great!@@MikeAben
