Hey there! Just wanted to let you know I think this link points to the wrong video it should go here > ua-cam.com/video/FLfFAmOmALU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=MikeAben (I do really appreciate you linking them though it makes it a lot easier to watch the series in order) - Also I'm a new watcher and I am really enjoying this series, you're breaking everything down in a fantastic way that makes it super easy to understand. As a pretty experienced KSP player looking to get into RP-1 you've helped me tremendously, thanks so much!

I love RP-1 and love to see how people play it. The variations and possible routes are immense so it is very fun to watch. Prop plane before X-plane is interesting choice but very realistic. Would love to see your fist jet and rocket plane designs.

A first jet is coming. I'm not sure about rocket planes yet. I don't have the x-plane contracts available yet so the rewards for flying them aren't great.

You can also access the atmosphere autopilot manager by pressing shift+P, and P alone will toggle the master switch without needing to bring up the panel if you’ve set settings in a previous instance.

Something that I picked up is that you can "swerve" with the rudders to slow down upon landing. This works in other games as well, but you might need to use your ailerons/elevons to stay level.

While I did see in a brief flash @7:30 that you did show yourself putting someone in the pilot seat, it's worth explicitly pointing out for silly people like myself; if you want to check if your control surfaces are working, you do still need a pilot to sit in the pilot seat. Otherwise, you get no inputs.

Top notch quality video. I just want to warn you, RP-1 is WAY slower than stock or even Kerbalism. It might take you months and dozens of videos, just to get into orbit. Now if you time it right, you will finish all RP-1 has to offer you, when KSP2 finally finishes the delivery of base pre-DLC features that it promises....so about 4 more years, lol.

Great video, really helps me learn where all the controls to tweak things in RP-1 so I can put all my experience to use. Also, whenever you're flying a plane you should just disable the in-game SAS and use AtmoAutopilot, not only can it land and take off for you just like in an airliner with the cruise controller(make sure to set your rates for pitch and roll in cruise, separate from moderate) but the moderate setting is the best fly-by-wire system there is, will make any statically unstable craft flyable and open the door to high-speed super maneuverability.

I'm really lucky you're currently playing through RP-1 right when I decided to try them again, this has allowed me for the first time to understand the mods.
For 13:00 I had the same issue, I wonder if the plane is just too heavy for those wheels and they're effectively stressed, about to break. I put more fuel in and the whole tail dragged on the floor instead.

Dang, starting with a prop trainer...I know jumping to rocket planes and the Karmen Line on your first plane is a bit too much (and not possible, but you can get to 30km alt), but a prop trainer? FYI, prop and jet aircraft are completely useless in RP-1, as ALL science is at minimum High Altitude (40km), which props and jets can't fly. When scrounging for science, you will need to do it with an X-15 style rocket plane, skimming the border between High Alt and Low Space...Its a huge change from Kerbalism, which allows and in some cases demands, huge amounts of science scrounging all over kerbin. Its cool and fun, but when you have spent hours and hours, to fly a submarine to drop it and retreieve it on the other side of the planet, just to get a few points in science, you then have to remind yourself this is a rocket simulator and you belong in the stars. Once you get to orbit, you are pretty much done with science on Earth. yes, there still might be science around, however its worth getting the science further from earth.

I don't remember what it's called, but I mean how big the wings should be. In the game in the hangar, when you select the wing part, there is information called "lift", maybe this is it. If the wing is too big, then there will be extra weight, if it is too small, then the lifting force will be small, etc. Of course, you can build generally, but I would like to have advanced knowledge.
