This is pretty rad. I always tell people who want to get into VFX to look into using Hitfilm since it can do it all, and can do it all fairly well too!

Is it just UA-cam compression or has this video got a low colour depth? Specifically at 0:55 it looks quite low even in 4K.
People in the comments comparing it to Godzilla like it wasn't supposed to be an obvious recreation of the scene...
Anyway, AMAZING job! I'f I didn't knew it was a promotion I'll assumed it was done in Nuke, It really makes me consider to try HitFilm Pro!

Yep. It is a recreation of that scene to show what HitFilm can do and teach how it was done. Check the note section and the full episode of Film Riot that just went up.
And its done almost perfectly. I put both scenes together to compare and the difference was very minimal.
They did a fantastic job. I was super impressed when they first showed me.
This was amazing! I like the C17 a little more than the C130, but it was nice to see the switch.
Why did you guys go with the C130 over the C17? Uniqueness?
hey guys, this is absolutely awesome. everything about it is so pro. but for the love of god... please render your videos in it's native resolution and stop using cropped letterbox black bars! I have an ultrawide 21:9 monitor and when you use the black bars it doesn't fill my screen. and the black bars are a weird off-black so it looks even weirder for me. amazing stuff though as always!

just so you know in a real flat flying skydive your hips would be more forward and your knees and arms further back, but such a small thing and i don't know anything about how to do videos like this so not complaining! looks amazing!

My only issue with this is the lack of wind thru clothing when the plane door opens and while falling. Otherwise, looks great.

That's a weird thing youtube's compression is doing. Make sure to watch in 4k.
My gut tells me the stuttery feeling there is due to UA-cam's compression of the 1080p stream, not a problem with the original source. If you switch the playback resolution to 4K, there's no stutter.

it does look a bit too fake but it looks cool as hell at the same time. seeing as how marvel movies look like the new gotg and how cheesy and fake a lot of the cgi establishing shots look, that shot is pretty wicked in comparison

Something went wrong on the export I guess. It looks way too compressed, color banding all over the place.
Watch in 4k. Anything less and youtube's compression destroys the image.
That siren sound effect they added for the doors opening is a cliche, and I hate it.
