This etude marks the start of more complex challenges rolled into a single etude. The etude breaks into sections that work on retakes/bow speed; retakes with and without accents; a lyrical tone in pizzicato; and syncopated rhythms with bow speed challenges.
The is great opportunity in this etude for working on clarity in the lowest register of the instrument, and I give some tips for focusing sound on the bottom strings.
