Fits well into my space, I painted the back green. It's very easy to customize just the back if that's something you want to do. I would suggest sanding it first before painting, I got a little impatient. I like the snug look that it has. Good small shelf if you don't have much space, but not too small. Simple to put together, though you'll need your own tools, a screwdriver and a mallet/hammer, it's easiest to do with another person.

It was a fantastic time, but reality has quickly set in yet again and I’m frenzied preparing for the holiday 😆 I have yet to really embark on vlog styled videos - I think once we turn a new leaf with covid, I would definitely entertain more of those tag-along styled videos when my day to day life becomes exciting once again! And what's funny is I wanted to do mine all in black and white. lol I do have coffee books too but mine are about the Royals or great American homes and castles. Really loving the 2nd one. Reminds me of mine.😉I collect white milk glass too & was blown away w some of the pieces I've found. They def don't look like typical mg, especially my art deco pieces. Since my bookcases are white & most of my items are too, I used this gorgeous black fabric w lg white geometric design to cover the back. I just cut to size, used some spray fabric starch & applied. It really makes my mg, clear glass & silver pieces pop!

There are treasures waiting there, and though I wish more people were open to shopping there, I also appreciate keeping my treasure shopping competition to a minimum. Haha. I have used your past video where you spray painted some vessels matte black as inspiration, and so far have amassed quite a collection. I also have the paint, and now I just need to DO IT, but every time I intend to, it seems to rain outside. Well, the intention is there, and it will get done. Happy Friday, Beau! My days have recently been occupied by my husband and I adopting two senior Shih Tzu who are needing a lot of attention since one of their previous owners passed away. The widow needed someone to care for them and we volunteered. We love dogs and have missed having them in our home. We couldn’t have dogs while living overseas but now we are settled down and more stable. Consequently, I haven’t had much time to look at UA-cam and YOU especially. But, they are resting right now so I am taking some time to tune in to your latest offering. I love what you did with your shelves! You really do such a nice job with balance and incorporate such interesting pieces. So often I see shelves that appear crowded and almost "heavy", like the shelf is about to crash in on itself. You have this great sense of using that negative space, so that my eye can enjoy each item, and not get stuck staring at something that doesn't fit in or conform. You also do a great job with "lines". There's vertical and horizontal, and then an interesting shape either with a monkey, or bust or flower. I also enjoy how you keep your colors simple. The black is grounding everything when it needs to and the white really brightens everyting. Good job!!!!! I took a screen shot to study for my next shelf project!
I love this analysis, Christine! I’m no professional, but I definitely try to keep scale, dimension, white (negative) space, and composition in mind when I vignette a space. It can take me hours to get it “just right” and even then, it’s more an intuitive feeling that lets me know I’m done ✔️ so glad you enjoyed these three looks! Really loving the 2nd one. Reminds me of mine.😉I collect white milk glass too & was blown away w some of the pieces I've found. They def don't look like typical mg, especially my art deco pieces. Since my bookcases are white & most of my items are too, I used this gorgeous black fabric w lg white geometric design to cover the back. I just cut to size, used some spray fabric starch & applied. It really makes my mg, clear glass & silver pieces pop!
Such an incredible idea! I love milk glass too, I see a ton of it when I’m out thrifting and it’s so beautiful 🤩 very nostalgic for me as my grandmother used to have quite a bit throughout here home as well. I am glad that you mentioned Goodwill as a resource. There are treasures waiting there, and though I wish more people were open to shopping there, I also appreciate keeping my treasure shopping competition to a minimum. Haha. I have used your past video where you spray painted some vessels matte black as inspiration, and so far have amassed quite a collection. I also have the paint, and now I just need to DO IT, but every time I intend to, it seems to rain outside. Well, the intention is there, and it will get done.
I have the weekend off, and you guessed it, I will be searching for some great thrifted pieces.

I know it may be intimidating and looked down upon, but I have scored incredible finds and not one broke the bank. So glad to hear you’re gearing up for your project - I too, have that dilemma with the rain! I try to paint outside in the open air and the humidity always kills the vibe. Happy thrifting ❤️

Happy Friday, Beau! My days have recently been occupied by my husband and I adopting two senior Shih Tzu who are needing a lot of attention since one of their previous owners passed away. The widow needed someone to care for them and we volunteered. We love dogs and have missed having them in our home. We couldn’t have dogs while living overseas but now we are settled down and more stable. Consequently, I haven’t had much time to look at UA-cam and YOU especially. But, they are resting right now so I am taking some time to tune in to your latest offering. I LOVE how you styled your bookcase in each scenario so can’t make a choice right now but beautifully done. My husband has over 2k books so our shelves are filled with books but I have managed to add a piece of decor in or on top to add some interest. I need you to do ours! I love what you did with your shelves! You really do such a nice job with balance and incorporate such interesting pieces. So often I see shelves that appear crowded and almost "heavy", like the shelf is about to crash in on itself. You have this great sense of using that negative space, so that my eye can enjoy each item, and not get stuck staring at something that doesn't fit in or conform. You also do a great job with "lines". There's vertical and horizontal, and then an interesting shape either with a monkey, or bust or flower. I also enjoy how you keep your colors simple. The black is grounding everything when it needs to and the white really brightens everyting. Good job!!!!! I took a screen shot to study for my next shelf project!
I love this analysis, Christine! I’m no professional, but I definitely try to keep scale, dimension, white (negative) space, and composition in mind when I vignette a space. It can take me hours to get it “just right” and even then, it’s more an intuitive feeling that lets me know I’m done ✔️ so glad you enjoyed these three looks!
