- While at the top of the Eiffel Tower, I went to film the ride dropping, only to notice the riders stuck up there for an unusually long amount of time. 10 seconds quickly turned into a minute, which turned into 5 minutes, and so long!

Maybe I'm just thinking about how poor six flags America is. I got stuck their drop tower and got let down slowly with no warning.
Majority of rides will let the riders know before it starts moving.

It’s because they don’t want people to see what happened because it can be very bad for the park
M. Tyrie its like 300 feet tall you dont have to be in that area to see it. You can see it from everywhere in the park
i would need new underwear. Not knowing when the drop comes must be horrible

I feel so sorry for them! I have a very big fear of heights so I would be dieing if I was up their! THATS SO HIGH!!!!!! :O

Damn, usually the 10 second wait on drop towers scare me with all the suspense. But this would've given me a panic attack.

"I would love to be stuck up there." Stuck 300ft off the ground? Lol. That could get really old really quickly. Like what would you do for a couple hours just stuck up there? And especially if you were riding alone and had nobody to talk to (story of my life)? Once when I was at my home park of Silver Dollar City I was on Outlaw Run and when we returned to the station my lapbar would not release. Everybody else's lapbars released, just not mine. And for most of that time they thought I was a young lady. Seriously, they made an announcement that said "until we get this young lady released, Outlaw Run will be closed." I was stuck there for an hour, they had to go UNDER the train and TAKE OFF the restraint. It was quite an experience. And almost happened again at Frontier City in Oklahoma. On the Diamondback Arrow shuttle coaster, when we got back to the station, the over the shoulder restraints wouldn't release. Fortunately that happens a lot so a mechanic came quickly and we were out in ten minutes.

rides was closed today too
It was because of a power outage and riders got stuck yesterday... Today they shut down rides to install devices that will give the rides a backup supply of power
windseeker always gets stuck lol. Nighthawk got stuck on the incline when i went to Carowinds last week

Just A Couple Weeks Ago,I Was on FF And Got Stuck At The Top.We Went To Face Down,And Then it Went Back upwards.After About 5 Mins,We Unexpectedly Dropped.Ever Since Then I have Had A Fear Of Going Back on.(Please Note i Used to LOVE IT) After Watching ur Vid,Im Never Going on Again!

That must be really scary! And not only the fact that you're stuck on a gaint height, but also the fact that you don't know what to expect! They probably got really surprised when it actually dropped :D

I was stuck on the drop tower at California's Great America for about 15 minutes. We were just cruising up, our seats kinda bounced a bit and we just stopped. After 15 minutes we were lowered down and were given a free single-use fast lane :)
I hate heights I think I would be dead from having a heart attack before I got to the ground😂and I bet someone on that was pressured to get on the ride even though there scared of heights

Just imagine that sitting at the top of it for a long time with the anxiety of anytime it could drop. If I was on that I would probably do more then curse a lot.
Imagine having a fear of heights and your friend convinced you to ride this with them for the first time, only to be stuck up there for what seems like a century. Wouldn't be a good first impression,
I personally feel like even though it is a "drop tower" they shouldn't have dropped them down after that long amount of time. (Unless there was a warning that was not heard). After that amount of time they wouldn't have been expecting a drop so quickly. If you're just riding you know it drops in about 3-ish seconds, but if you're up there for a few minutes and then dropped some people could have came off the ride complaining (because everybody is offended of something in this generation). I feel like they should have lowered them down by the cables to protect them from possible court cases.

Actually there is a speaker at the top where a voice tells them when they will drop and the ride operator can talk to them.

Imagine like staying up there for 2 hours after they say the ride is closed and then just looking around about to pee yourself and out of nowhere it just drops without warning and you aren’t sure if a cable snapped or it’s functioning properly

I saw this happen with Zumanjaro at SFGADV before while I was waiting to get on Kingda Ka so I had to wait an extra 5 minutes
As a person afraid of heights this is pretty traumatizing

I got stuck at the top of the Hershey Park drop tower for 10 minutes

The power went out at carowinds on Thursday and people once again got stuck on windseeker
Few days ago, power went out at cedar point.
No fault of it's own for once!
And I was there. The power went out for only a couple seconds then the backup generators kicked in.

I rode this the first year it came out.... Very scary experience. Great for extreme thrill seekers. I also use to work at Kings Dominion great place!

Screw that. I'd have a heart attack. That's the one ride that I have to have a few margaritas at the shrimp shack beforehand.
The scariest part is that at any given moment, the ride will be fixed and they will all just drop as the ride continues

I went to Kings Island last year, and Drop Tower got stuck, someone jumped the fence at Adventure Express and there was a malfunctioning lap bar in one train, and some guy freaking out in the train behind that while I was stuck on the third train for like five minutes on The Beast. May i mention how rough The Beast was last year. KI has fixed it though.

Honestly, not too bad of a situation as long as you aren’t stuck on there for way too long. Probably got a free pass, and a great aerial view of the park
Man, how scary would it be to drop without warning after technical difficulties and not knowing of it was supposed to be dropping or not.
we were stuck up there on a 106° day for 45 minutes! we also got stuck on the anaconda on the hill the same day. they crew was running up and down the hill with bottles of water.. finally after about 30 min. they unlocked the cars and we had to walk down the stairs beside the coaster!! now you want to talk about scary! this was on top of the anaconda Rollercoaster fricken first climb!! they warned us not to look down. holy cow!!!!! this was in the early 2000s we still rode both of them years later.. over and over.. lol!! that day it was so hot outside!!!!
I went to kings dominion that day. I didn't see that. I'm so glad my mom didn't go with us. she loves that ride and if she was on that thing I would be freaking out and crying

How are they getting down? Step one get out of seat. Step two carefully climb polls to tower.step three clime down a 305 ft ladder without getting tired and falling to your death.

At Cedar Point people were stuck on the lift of millennium Force for 4 hours. They couldn’t get the car down so they had to evacuate the people one by one. It was only a few rides after I had gone on it.
I was recently stuck on something similar at six flags and I was stuck up there for 10 minutes!
Reasons I don't ride drop tower much anymore... getting stuck there is my worst and basically only theme park fear...

they lowered it slow and paramedic was at the bottom. you wouldn't want to be stuck! it was so hot!! 45 min. felt like hours.!!! we saw the workers trucks and security comming from below. it was terrible! this was at kings dominion in virginia.. at least when we got stuck. there was crew at the bottom with cold towels, water, emergency medical tech.. they gave out free admission the the rest of the year. not exactly sure the date but in the 2000s

I remember getting stuck in a drop tower and then being asked by the staff if I wanted to ride it again
Once when I went to Kentucky Kingdom a train on T3 got stuck going up the lift hill and I felt so bad for them because there legs probably felt terrible!
For somebody that has anxiety issues or panic attacks that come on, that could be one of the worst days of their lives.

This has become a sort of regular for the drop tower. I had season passes last year and it got stuck a handful of times in 2016. One day it got stuck twice within an hour. It was a problem with the latch release getting stuck.
this is a typical thing for the drop tower that I went on at Fantasilandia in Santiago,Chile.

atleast they aren't stuck on the top of falcons fury, they would be facing down and the only thing they can do is tilt the seats back up, and wait till the problem is fixed to drop them they cant slowly take them down. How do I know this? my friend was stuck at the top for an hour when they finally got the ride working he said it tilted face down and continues with the normal ride

I've been there before lol. My dad, me and my 7 year old neice got stuck on the top. We got stuck on one of these rides at Carowinds.
Mach Tower, they wanted to beat Mach Tower for the longest time at the top of a drop tower.

When I visited magic mountain the second time in my life with my friend Nathan, on the day that we left, went to the water park and then to the actual park just to ride twisted colossus. But on our way to twisted colossus, we saw Lex Luthor stuck all the way up and we were like, “Oooh, that sucks man”!
