  • I got the idea to use PVC to create a cave by watching videos from Mantisman. Be sure to checkout his channel for some awesome videos of Mantis Shrimp in action: / @mantismantm
Thanks for watching. Upcoming videos: Rebuilding 265 gallon tank, fish room tour, etc.

I know this video is a year old but I really wanted to comment and keep the algorithm going.
Looks like you have a G. Smithii one of my favorite due to the easy of care foe these guys. Honestly I think the pipe isd was a bit large but good idea. I hope you also added some rock rubble so the mantis can close off the entrance an exit holes. This is important for multing

Remember if the break the glass that's when you pull out the glock because at that point it's self defense

Ok I see you cycled your tank for about 4 wks b4 adding ur mantis. I new to the saltwater hobbie altogether. I’ve did endless reading on tanks and set up and learning about mantis shrimp. Just need pointers and help from someone that has one as well! I didn’t get the same brand as you (turbo start) but I got the Dr. Tim's Aquatics One and Only Saltwater to speed up the cycle. Do you recommend still waiting 4 weeks? Or just do Consistent water test? Also saying something about iodine is that only when the mantis is molting ? Could you touch on that topic please.

This fluval tank comes with a built in filter. The mantis shrimp is a very hardy invertabrate, a sponge filter with water changes every other week would suffice.
