One of the most popular fan theories amongst lovers of Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia is that the blue-fire-using villain known as Dabi is actually Shoto Todoroki’s long-lost brother, Toya Todoroki. There’s a lot of evidence supporting this theory, so we decided to collect all the current clues pointing towards Dabi being a Todoroki and find out once and for all if this is the direction that the story is heading.
We cover everything seen in the anime and manga, from the character’s powers to his hair color and even his fighting method, all to determine if his past lies in the Todoroki family. CBR might not be the first to claim that Dabi is a Todoroki, but we’ll definitely do our best to prove it in this video. Since we know endeavour tortured the kids with training to make them perfect that could be the reason why dabi hates endeavor. Also, quirks are similiar with different familys but dabis fire is blue just like endeavors when he powers up we've yet to see anyones quirk relate to someone unrelated to them this much

Can I also point out 3 things:
1.) How Dabi admired Stain- someone who hated heroes who didn’t deserve the title. If your dad is the number 2 hero and beat/ignored his children, I think it’s pretty safe to say you’d follow someone like that.
2.) People who were beaten/ignored as a child are more likely to be psychopaths. That would also make sense for Dabi.
3.) Shoto is heavily based on Zuko from Avatar. Zuko has an older sister with blue flames who left and became a villain. Maybe it’s the same in this case?
Horikoshi, the writer said he has never seen any ATLA episode prior to writing Shoto.
For your second point you mention Dabi being a psychopath. This isn’t the case as psychopaths are born with no sense of sympathy. He would be a sociopath which is someone who develops this trait from being abused, bullied, raped etc...

Endeavor said his vision was blurry when he encountered Dabi, that’s why he didn’t recognize him.
Yeah he was having a heatstroke form the backlash of his quirk, was profusely bleeding from one eye, that had a gigantic scar across it so that eye was likely not exaclty usable there, was on the verge of passing out, and Dabi himself also raised a wall of fire around them, which due to how his flames are, have intense heat, which would also contribute to blurring due to the sheer heat alone. I dont think Enji was able to really focus on assessing the person in front of him at the time.

Also not to mention that it dabi has completely changed his appearance since the last time endeavor saw him. Not only that but I don't think that enji cared enough about touya after he found out that his body was weak enough to notice what he actually had grown up into.
Also at the same time, Touya (possibly Dabi) might've hated Endeavor so much that he didn't want anything remotely similar to him, so he dyed his hair black, to distinguish himself from the Todoroki family

Before I watch this, it's really obvious that dabi is touya:
1. He has Shotos blue eyes
2. He isn't all that evil cause he is still going by stains law of only killing fake heroes which means he still believes in some heroes and is anti.
3. He knew endeavours name and talked to him like he knew him on a personal level.
4. Endeavours kid had the same blue flames(most obvious sign)
5. When he was introduced to the league of villains he said "for now I go by the name dabi" indicating that he changed his name which also means he is trying to hide his identity via why he dyed his hair black 🤷♂️

I don't really know if this is cannon in anyway but in my hero one's justice 2 if you play as dabi in arcade vs endeavor dabi says that he needed to talk to endeavor for a while now this just makes sense given how badly endeavor treated him

One think I also noticed is Dabi's age. if there was about 2 years in between the birth of each child that would make Touya 11 when Shoto was 5, and since Shoto is 15 that would make Touya 21, and according to the BNHA Wikia Dabi is in his 20s. Coincidence? I think not

I noticed this too, but your mathematic is wrong. Since Touya is the oldest brother, if we go with the theory he is Dabi, he is in his early twenties. To this point you‘re right. _But_ you forgot the other siblings. Since we see Touya in one shot from behind, we see that he‘s not that much older. Maybe one year. The kids in there look about 9-13. Which would actually make sense, because the age difference between Natsuo and Fuyumi is 3 years. Let‘s say Fuyumi was in this shot 12. Through the length of pregnancy and everything, Touya/Dabi can only be a year older. So let’s say he was 13 in this shot. Little baby Todo is about 5-6 in this shot, not too old. So the age difference between Touya and Shoto would be, If I‘m right, 7-8 years.

Shoto is 15 now. 15 + 7/8 = 23/24
So Dabi could only be 23 or 24, which would make sense since he is, as you said, in his early twenties. 25 would already be his mid-twenties and everything above would be his late twenties.

Well, the answer is simple. Fuyumi is 22, and since he is the oldest, he could never be 21.

You can‘t just make random age differences, when the ages of all the other siblings is given.
Shoto is 15, Natsuo 19 and Fuyumi 22. You could easily just go to BNHA Wikia and search them. Good luck.

Don't forget that Dabi was really defensive when asked for his name and that during the hideout raid arc, Gran Torino said every villain's real name except for Dabi's. It is possible that he didn't say Dabi's name because he had not committed any flashy crimes or he might want to keep the fact that the son of the formally number 2 and now number 1 hero is in the league of villains.

In the manga, Dabi knows Hawks real name, which surprises Hawks. Hawks was saved by Endevourer so it is possible that Dabi figured Hawks real name through Endvourer who might have mentioned saving a kid to his kid's. This could mean that Dabi figured out Hawks real name when he still went as Touya

No actually Touya Todoroki (Dabi) “commit suicide” by going in an abandoned building and lit it on fire but they never found a body and google did say that even if he did survive he would have extreme burn marks (his purple scars)
Aleana Pineda I don't think those scars were caused by endeavor himself. It is stated that touya's flames are even hotter than endeavor's but he ended up inheriting his mom's weakness to fire so those scars are probably caused by touya's own flames not endeavor's.

The manga has been really trying to prevent Endeavor from meeting Dabi at all cost which seems strange to me. Like for example in the hideout raid arc, All the heroes broke in to the League of Villians hideout(where Dabi was as well) and fought them except Endeavor for some reason were he was told to take guard outside.
Also in future chapters, When Endeavor encountered Dabi, his vision was blurred because he was having a heatstroke from the backlash of his quirk, and he profusely bled from one eye that had a gigantic scar across it making him not able to see well. Also, Dabi raised a wall of fire around them, which due to how his flames are with intense heat would contribute to the blurring of Endeavor’s vision. Therefore, I don’t think Endeavor was able to really focus on the person in front of him who was Dabi at the time causing him to no recognize Dabi.

But putting her in a mental hospital is a very logical response to what she did, and I don't think Endeavor should get criticized for that. Clearly Rei was unstable, hurting, and needed help, and she needed to be away from Endeavor, so taking her to a mental hospital was probably the best thing for her.

_Todoroki's flames started to turn blue, as Dabi's eyes widen, then grin._
"I cannot let you become a 'fake hero.' All I want is peace in this world... and I know you do too." _Dabi restrains himself, ready for Todoroki to make it to him._
*Todoroki finally notices the similarities between quirks.. everyone doesn't have very much similar quirks.. do they?*
"WHO ARE YOU?!" _Todoroki finally uses his quirk on Dabi, as Dabi does the same, their flames just having a brawl._

Dabi, Endeavour and Shoto all weild their fire the same way. That would mean both Shoto and Dabi had the same teacher.

That‘s exactly why he wanted to marry Rei. Because then, one of his „creations“ could cool himself down with the ice powers while they can use their firepower. (Shoto had this power. When he uses both of his quirks, he can use them without any limit. He just doesn‘t do it.)

It’s not just cooling down. Enji married Rei with the intention of producing a child with a Quirk whose potential drwarfed his own. A child with the potential to surpass All Might.
@@RickyUzumaki993 Thats what he/she means though. Having a perfect hybrid quirk of ice and fire would completely negate the kickback of both quirks. If Shoto uses his ice too much he starts getting frostbite, and would likely die of hypothermia if he goes too far with it. His fire, the same as Enji's. If he goes overboard, his organs and brain overheat. He gets a heat stroke. He did do it once in the manga already. Abandoned his ice side for a fight and raised his flames as strong as he could. He passed out from the heat. But with having access to both, he can negate the drawback of both sides completely. Shoto has the perfectly unlimited quirk. Once he learns to use both sides at the same time efficiently, he can freely use either, without any limit, likely producing blue flames without ANY danger to himself, due to his ice cancelling out the heat within his body, and probably make even greater ice attacks than he already has. We see that he almost completely freezes over when he unleashes giant ice attacks. If his flames are on at the same time he does that that wont happen. HE can just keep going.

If look at Shoto’s face closely when Dabi calls him by his full name Shoto is very surprised for either 1 or 2 reasons.
Reason 1: He’s like how does he know my full name?!
Reason 2: He recognizes the voice or when he is very close to Dabi’s face he recognizes his face or scar placing.
Couldn’t be reason 1 since everyone knows Todoroki because he’s the son of endeavour and also the stand out student in the hero course
No one calls him Shoto except for his family. To call someone by their first name is very personal in the Japanese culture. Midoriya calls Bakugo 'Kaa Chan' which shows they have known each other for a while and have a friendship (of some sorts!) but he still doesn't call him by his first name fully.
For me that was also a big indicator that Dabi could be a Todoroki

I feel like some of dabi’s scars are a result of an accident, but they’re too symmetrical to not be at least somewhat purposeful
Its caused by his own quirk. His body can't handle the heat of his own flames, like how Deku can't handle one for all 100% without breaking a bone. Prolonged use of his quirk burns at his skin, but the flames spread *fast* so he doesn't have to use them for long

In one of shotos flashbacks endeavor says that the oldest brother had more fire power than himself (blue flames), but he had his moms weakness for fire which is why he has the scars from being burnt by his own quirk
I just love the way Dabi got so much damn dirt on Endeavor he could just bury his hero carrer.
Aside from mutation quirks pretty much everybody's quirks hurt them. Bakugou can overdo his explosions and damage his arms. Endeavor can burn himself if he overdoes it too. Uraraka gets nauseated if she floats too much. Minetas head bleeds if he pulls too much. And so on and so on. Plus as to why Endeavor didnt recognize dabi (if he is touya) is explained on the page. He overdid his quirk and hes covered in blood and sweat even saying he seeing fuzzy at the moment Dabi shows up.

Actually endeavor can’t burn himself but he can suffer from heat stroke and the reason he didn’t recognize Dabi was because during the fight between nomu his eye was injured which resulted in his scar

Also, in the training camp attack, when shoto was going past dabi, he said “shoto todoroki” and didn’t know anybody else’s name, and as he said it, he seemed to say it with like envy/anger

My theory is that shoto was getting abused by his father like in that scene where he had thrown up all over the floor cause Endeaver punched, and dabi came and stood up for him. In the end, his father burned dabi alive with his flames but dabi managed to escape. So basicly what i am saying is that he might be doing it so that he could protect his younger siblings from Endeavor. Now he has hates Endeavor and works in the shadows to take revenge upon him.

In a recent chapter of the manga it confirmed that if Dabi uses his flames too much he burns himself, so that solidifies how he got his scars.
