I love Merg just going in and then realizing after a bit, "Yep, there are no tricks, there is no out-dps-ing the boss. You just have to do better." And then immediately starts to do the perfectly correct thing to do, learning the boss' patterns.
@@Markkbonk i know but the mal-rail+core eject is the most optimal way (to my knowledge at least) to execute the eye's, so him not using it and still taking only, like, 7-10 minute's to kill off the prison is in my opinion quite impressive.
42:51 gotta respect that when merg said ”you can parry every single attack except for…”, Minos just finishes your sentence with an attack you cannot indeed parry
at 14:07, the song plays part of the “requiem” motif, which is the song that plays in the the second level of the lust layer- which is minos’s kingdom. the same motif also appears in the song “glory”, which plays in the first gluttony level- where the p door is that leads to where minos is. EVERY TIME i hear that motif, its just so sad.- minos built and fought for his kingdom with the belief that loving one another was not a sin. yet, gabriel ended minos' kingdom. in a game solely about merciless ultrakilling, minos was the only one i ACTUALLY regretted killing. hakita really do be producing toby fox level music though
Just a reminder, after you beat minos prime and [REDACTED] you may check credits again for the people that voiced them (these were in the spoiler containers because you haven't beated the bosses they were related to)
i love how quickly the cherry boi went from "Youre a faker youre a fraud i killed the real you, kneel before the devil death machine..whatever we are" to "I would like to apologize for my behaviour Minos please spare me"
One of my favorite part of Ultrakill is the fact that if you play well enough and extremely enough, all the audio becomes so loud it explodes into silence for a few seconds.
@@kindagamer525 same here. Minos was predicable and his voicelines pretty much said everything that was happening the prison was just chaos, plus you couldn't parry so healing was not optimal
FINALLY, I CAN FINALLY REST NOW, THANK YOU MERG FOR FIGHTING MINOS Merg....you still have to P rank act ll to fight someone stronger 😈 ok but seriously i wasnt expecting this to be my most liked comment, thanks!
Great to see Merg know what "JUDGEMENT" finally means to the ULTRAKILL community. Hopefully he will also get to find out what, "KEEP EM COMING" means as well. Honestly really happy to see the sheer amount of giddyness and happiness in Merg's voice when he first encounters Minos Prime. Reminds me of my first fight with Minos. One of the best bossfights I've ever had the pleasure of fighting.
it can be hard to compare minos’s and (person in question)’s voice lines as they both fight for different reasons. one for his people and fairness, the other for thrill. you can really hear it in their voices
@@OofatorStephen Whyte has way more voice acting experience than the guy who voiced (the person in question) I personally like how deep and menacing (the person in question)’s voice is in the (encounter in question)
the most fascinating part is how it feels to know the audio cues, and know exactly whats going to happen next, only for you to die to it. like i need to remind myself you havent learned all of it yet, but when i hear the windup for when minos launches a projectile, and you arent looking, only to turn around last second to see a snake about to demolish you- its just so funny lmao
*merg stares very carefully at Minos' behind* "whoops wrong side." GG Getting this far though, Good luck doing the same with Act 2 and have a good one!
Insane. You didn't even go for looking the strategy up, you just went all in. You are one cracked gamer, Merg. You don't have to P rank Minos Prime to unlock the next Prime Sanctum, as there are indeed 2 currently. You just need to P rank the ACT II layers for it... If you're up for the challenge though, go for it! At least that'll mentally prepare you before whatever terror will come next... Trust me, you need the most optimal energy and focus because IT will DRAIN you. Have fun! 57:34 - Please Merg, with all due respect, never say that ever again.
My only takeaway from this video is that Merg doesn't know that dashing gives you I-frames. However, when the time comes for you to P-rank P-1, I will leave tips for you here. His attacks and combos may be random, but they always have a cue as you learned. Phase 2 (On violent difficulty) will cause Minos' Melee attacks to become unparryable, leaving room to heal only near projectile summons. His famous JUDGEMENT attack should be followed by the inputs F (to parry) and then Shift (to dodge the explosive shockwave). His funny DIE attack can be easily dodged with a jump + dash combo. On the topic of air-time, DON'T. His attacks Punish you when you're in the air, keep your feet on the ground. Don't forget about your weapons alt fire, they can damage Minos severely. THY END IS NOW can be easily strafed, a simple change in direction + slide makes it nearly impossible to be hit by it. PREPARE THYSELF includes a front attack, an attack following your movement, and then a snake projectile, it's recommended to slide in a circle before parrying the snake. Whenever Minos does 'PREPARE THYSELF' or 'THY END IS NOW', he will stop whatever he does then and uppercut you if you're in midair. CRUSH is activated when you are below Minos directly, either from the uppercut of some funny ULTRA-JANK. Now, time for optional lore and my thoughts on the character Minos himself. Minos was a judge of hell, sent to punish the sins of those entering. Minos thought the punishment the sinners went through was cruel and unjust. So when God decided to abandon earth as he did over and over again, he took the chance to reform the Lust Layer as the heavens were left in CHAOS. But when a new ORDER, The Council, was established, they saw it as "going against gods will", so they sent Gabriel, who was blindly led by his trust in god, to end Minos. Minos, who was still a husk, tried to reason, but Gabriel ended Minos and set him as the example of those who defied God. Now dawning the Judge of Hell title, he went to re-instigate obedience in GREED. Minos, whose pure willpower to bring his people to safety, tried to form into a prime soul. Before it could form any further than a ball of light, the heavens trapped him in the Flesh Prison, forcing him to see his lifeless corpse tear down the city he worked so hard to build for his people. Overall, Minos is an amazing character, I love the fact that he does not teleport, BUT HE MOVES SO FAST AND SO DETERMINED THAT HE TEARS APART THE FLOOR GETTING TO YOU. His willpower is reflected in his battle, and his personality is top notch. He sees you as one capable of thought, and in extent sees you are responsible for killing those he held dear, so he fights you. He could have easily abandoned Lust and kill Gabriel out of revenge, but the thought of his people falling kept him going to kill you over and over again. He, deep down, knows he can't win. He knows that you are rebuilt again and again and again (for reasons I shall discuss in P-2) but yet he fights for his people. This is reflected in his song as well, with the leitmotif heard in REQUIEM. Knowing the lore of his character can make one break hearing the song. He just wanted a better world for his people, and he was punished for his beliefs. And now I send off, reminding you with what I started with, Dashing gives I-frames. I hope you remember that in P-2 because you are GONNA NEED IT.
That was awesome seeing you adapt to Minos's attacks by learning the attack parry timings, you made it way harder for yourself by playing on Violent as well, as this is the only reason why his attacks were no longer payyable in phase 2, there is still another surprise for you when you P rank all of Act 2, hoping you will get to experience that too :) and no P-3 is not currently in the game but will be in the future
Cherry man fights *JUDGEMENT* man. The battle of Legends. But now, he has to P-Rank through act 2. We'll see how well he'll take that hell of a level...
If you intend to P rank P-1 there's a few tricks you should know: 1: Core nuke (core eject shot with a malicious railcannon) is one of the best ways to kill most of the eyes, if done perfectly you can sometimes kill all of them in one go. 2: Dealing damage to the prison reduces its heal clock faster. 3: Parrying the projectile spam is one of the most reliable ways to heal during the prison fight and allows you to do some decent damage. 4: During the Minos fight, stay on the ground as much as you can, all of his combo attacks that end in parryable attacks will end the second you're in the air to uppercut you instead. 5: Because of this, it is very easy to lure Minos into saw traps for high damage. 6: During Minos' second phase on violent difficulty, all of his combos stop being parryable except for his projectiles. 7: Parrying does not stop him from completing some of his attacks. 8: The snake projectiles home in very very aggressively, if you miss the parry, its probably going to hit you, its best to try and direct it straight into a wall or the floor. 9: He's a stupid anime villain that screams out all of his attacks before attacking, if you're familiar with his moveset, you don't even have to look at him to avoid his attacks lol. 10: While sliding is a very useful tool, don't forget to dash. 11: A really good way to instantly heal to full in the Minos fight is to use an electric railcannon shot at point blank. Alternatively you COULD use the screwdriver but if you tried to parry him while its active it would be disabled. 12: Practice aiming at coins without needing to slide in one direction and shoot forward, being able to pay attention to the fight and use the coins at the same time will save you alot of trouble. 13: Speaking of coins, try shooting a coin with a charged piercer shot, the damage is comparable to a railgun. 14: The best way to get damage out of the cannonball shot against a single target is to shoot it point blank and projectile boost it as soon as it hits the target so it hits them twice. 15: Unlike the core grenade, shooting the cannonball with a railgun gives no different effect from shooting it with a revolver.
I don't think Minos is villain :o He's just the King Of Lust, that wanted good for his people He's a man of justice, so ofc he would try to avenge people V1 killed :p
@@octosushi013 Not enough for his Undertale skill to be irrelevant here. Undertale shows Merg is good at these kind of videogames with hard and fast-paced battles where you dodge attacks. Hell, I've even observed this kind of "skill translation" in my own gameplay, since I have pretty much the same video game skillset. I know which kind of game I'm good at. I would get the "these are two very different games" argument if we were talking about Merg playing a strategy game or something lol.
Attacks like judgement can only be dodged with a dash since you get brief i-frames while dashing, parrying the attack doesn't negate the damage hitbox and is only there to offer extra damage and a heal, but you definitely have the right idea by constantly sliding. Also, parrying fully restores your stamina, which is something you NEED to keep in mind going forward.
He’s playing in standard so in his first phase judgement can be parried, second phase tho you can parry but you still remain on 50hp if you don’t have hard damage
i am sooooo unbelievable happy to be watching this. in the last 48 hours i both got an ankle sprain and found out one of my three college crushes has a girlfriend. i'm devastated smh. but at least i have something fun to watch now. and almost an hour long too. 4:26 a battery acid shield 7:28 why is this the snatcher attack and why can i perfectly picture the snatcher messing up a machine in hell 10:20 me sitting silently with a smile as i watch merg shooting at horrendous hell creatures in the screen is my safe place 11:06 *your love - everhood ost* 11:10 💀 50:59 💀💀💀 52:53 what is up guys welcome to amazon prime 58:17 i think it's fun watching you progressively get better with each attempt, so i think the editing and cutting out is fine as it is!
it took me over an hour and 118 attempts to beat this the first time i played it, went back to it and p ranked it first try. good times. also congrats merg on beating p-1! i will continue to support you on future challenges👍
"Minos is what's a called "prime soul", meaning that his willpower is so strong that he doesn't need his husk to manifest and promptly break your neck." - wise person in minos prime's theme All jokes aside, Minos Prime is considerably the best boss in all FPS games, it gives the players a challenge after completing the game, it's also a fan favorite character in Ultrakill. Also i love his Theme (Heaven Pierce Her - Order) it reflects his tragedy to the Lust layer and himself, the motif on this song is the best part so far (Requiem). I also love he went insane 17 minutes in the video, it just shows that Minos Prime is basically hurting you, even in real life.
@@pizzapizza759 i only watched half when it got uploaded because it was 2am in my time so i didn't watch the entire thing, i did somewhat skip some of parts of the video.
@@OofatorYeah it is but I somehow beaten P-2 just with like 10 deaths, I really don't know how. But Pranking it was a lot harder than P-1, that's for sure
@@flatern22parala.s it was 23 tries for me. wasn't too bad, but the p-ranking was painful. now that i've learned everything, i can consistently get a p-rank on it though, which is nice.
Merg, it's alright, the long video full of attempts is exactly what we all expect to see and wanted to watch, in my opinion this video was perfect, in every attempt we could see you learn new things and find ways to dodge attacks and to damage the boss, and seeing the entire process is part of the experience, like we were there with you rooting for you during every attempt, please don't cut out a lot of video, just remove the "filler" that you talked about since that seems to look more "removable" :) the long video was really fun
If you're wondering how to differentiate parriable attacks more easily, the ones you can't parry have a special squeaky sound, you can easily hear it from street cleaners (flame thrower guys)
Hey, just so you know this game has a sandbox mode you can access from the chapter select. Also you should be charging your blue revolver more, it deals a lot more damage that way. And you can use the whiplash (grappling hook) to pickup skulls/candles. and if your thinking about p-ranking Minos on violent... GOOD LUCK
You can parry the projectile one a lot more easily if you don't turn away from it. Make sure you look right at it (same goes for other parry-able attacks)
Yellow sparkles, unlike blue sparkles, doesn't explictily state that an attack is unparriable because that would remove the use of the blue sparkles. But everything blue-toned doesn't mean they are unparriable too, blue skull bullets are a great thing to use against flesh prison. If you're going to P-Rank P-1 you really should use the Core-Eject + Railcannon combo because that clears most if not all of the summons of flesh prison, keep in mind you don't need to fully charge the core eject because the charge it's just the range.
I am so glad that you decided to play Ultrakill. For a good few weeks now I have been obsessed with the game, and your first video had popped up on my fyp. This resulted in my watching you play Ultrakill, and coming back to your channel after a few years of not watching your content. I forgot how enjoyable it is to watch you play games, and interact with your community as if it were your family. You also happened to be the one to get me into Omori, which is now (as you can see) one of my favorite games. So thank you Merg, for the glorious content, and take care.
Merg i love you for these, seeing YOU play ultrakill (as someone who watched you back then for undertale) makes me happy cause ultrakill is currently my favourite game, thanks for giving more light to ultrakill bro
Also core shotgun blast (blue shotgun right click) + malicious head red blaster weapon does pretty good dmg and range so it’ll prob be good for the eye balls and remember for the other prime boss you need to stay on your toes to keep up with him………….
Fun fact: When minos says "WEAK" and "USELESS" he is actually referring to himself, saying he is weak and useless for letting his people be slaughtered and not being able to stop it.
Soul Survivor P-rank tips :) Flesh Prison: - Remember the nuke? This is the best way to open the fight. Wait until all the eyes and mini Maurices spawn and the throw a nuke close to the center of FP, that'll do big damage AND kill most (if not all) the eyes and mini Maurices. After that, you can whiplash FP and get the DPS going - The sawblade is really good here! Stick a magnet to FP and shoot all the blades for big damage, but keep in mind the following: the green bar is the amount of time left until the next heal, and if you do too much damage in a short period of time, next green bar will go down VERY fast. - Marksman is very good here. Learn the timing in most directions and while sliding. Remember that the coin's momentum will ALWAYS be the same for a specific direction, so it's easy to build up muscle memory. Being able to hit the coin while it shines will, as you know, split the coin into two, and this is really useful for the FP fight. - Don't attack the FP until all eyes are dead. The FP fight can take a long time which will definitely hurt your P-rank, and if it ends up healing, then chances are your P-rank is lost because you won't have enough time for Minos. Minos Prime: - Learn his voicelines and what attack is following each. All his attacks except Judgement can be very easily dodged by strafing in one direction (in a circle) or sliding in one direction (also in a circle). You'll realize it's almost like you're dancing with Minos. - Keep yourself on the ground at all times. Being in the air will make Minos do the uppercut attack followed by Die attack. - Don't forget about the dash's immunity frames! You can dash through the shockwaves with this. And on the topic of I-frames, you can overpump the pump shotgun to make it blow up, and shooting and dashing at the same time will make you take no damage at all. The overpump is very strong for normal P-ranks. Aaaaaand speaking of the pump shotgun, pumping it and then projectile boosting makes no difference in damage, the only thing that pumping does is shoot more bullets and projectile boosting only affects one of your bullets (the one you punch). - In some moments of peace, you can do some damage with your coins. It's better to throw all the coins at once and then shoot them instead of throwing and shooting one at a time. Throwing all the coins at once will end up dealing more damage overall. I'll keep the tips short, because It's more fun letting you figure out more strategies on your own ;) Good luck
A feature about Prime Souls that isn’t directly mentioned in the terminal tabs: Prime Souls have characteristics of who they were directly imprinted on their soul. For Minos: A hole for a face represents his selflessness. A crown with buildings and skyscrapers representing that he put his city above all else. A clear body telling us that he never hid anything from his subjects, he was brutally honest. Finally, an overgrown heart expressing his love for all to see. To quote a comment on a video with Order and Minos’ voice lines: “Minos truly deserved the title of “king”.”
57:00 Cyber Grind's square just shows you your wave number, you cannot P rank it or anything like that. P-3 also isn't out yet since Act 3 isn't, but very good job Merg, very cool video and I can't wait for Act 2!
17:52 people have speculated that he's actually calling himself weak for losing half his health to a stranger, and so he's disappointed in himself and tries harder (:
A lot of useful tips for this level: (Hey I'm back after typing all of this, I'm sorry for it being so long, but I organized every tip so you can take one a time, these are really helpful) (also some of these tips you have already learnt by yourself, but I'll still keep them here for you to not forget them and also see that you are going in the right direction) Also it's awesome to watch you get better and better as the vid goes on, you have come a long way and beating this level was an incredibly impressive mark on this series! ========== *(FLESH PRISON TIPS)* - Take breaks in-between attempts to rest and think more clearly, this is VERY important. - The moment Flesh Prison spawns those eyes it is a pretty good idea to NUKE the center of Flesh Prison to then get most of the eyes killed immediatelly, and to NUKE you need to shoot a core eject torwards Flesh Prison and shoot the core eject with the MALICIOUS RAILCANNON (the red one), that will cause a huge explosion and deal with a lot of the eyes and sometimes maybe kill ALL of them at once - In-case your Railcannon is still charging and FP is spawning more eyes, a good way to deal with the eyes quickly is to use the coins from the Green Revolver, did you know a coin can richochet into two enemies at once? If you shoot the coin in the correct timing the shot will split and hit two enemies at once dealing critical damage to both and insta-killing the eyes. SO with 4 coins you can effectivelly get ride of 8 EYES in quick succession and deal with the rest in whatever way you want, getting the timing of the coins right is a little bit tricky so I highly recommend learning the timing in sandbox mode, once you learn the timing it can be pretty much ONLY muscle memory when it comes to hitting the timing -If FP's virtue beams are launching you into the air making it more difficult to dodge the next one, make sure to ground pound to reach the floor faster and flee from the reach of the explosion of the virtue beam (IMPORTANT, the higher you are on the air, IF YOU HOLD THE GROUND POUND BUTTON EVEN AFTER REACHING THE FLOOR YOU WILL SLIDE AT A GREATER SPEED BECAUSE THE HEIGHT YOU FEEL FROM TRANSLATED INTO MOMENTUM, HOPEFULLY I EXPLAINED THIS WELL) - You know the trick to keep switching shotguns to keep firing them rapidly, that deals a lot of DPS against a HUGE target like Flesh Prison - If you deal damage to Flesh Prison the moment it will start healing will arrive faster (The green bar shows how long until FP starts to heal) so when the eyes have spawned avoid damaging FP to give you more time to kill the eyes ========== *(MINOS PRIME TIPS)* - Take breaks in-between attempts to rest and think more clearly, this is VERY important. - Minos Prime's voice lines are important, they dictate which attack he will use next, basically the name of the attack, pay close to attention to them, and also pay attention to his attacks to see when there is a window for parrying, ALMOST ALL OF HIS ATTACKS HAVE A PARRYING WINDOW, and that window is ESSENTIAL for dealing with this fight efficiently, since PARRIES HEAL YOU AND RECHARGE YOUR STAMINA FULLY FOR MORE DASHES WHILE AS WELL INTERRUPTING MINOS'S ATTACKS, Always pay attention to the yellow flashes in attacks (also both of his melee attacks are parriable, in the punching one you already know to parry the last punch, AND in the kicking one he shoots a snake at you at the end, so parry that back into him) - Minos attacks might look chaotic AT FIRST, but once you learn how his attacks work he becomes a lot more predictable, and his fight is way less chaotic than FP's fight - THE WAY MINOS WORKS IN THIS FIGHT IS DEPENDANT ON *HIS OWN STAMINA*, yes Minos has his own stamina bar that he uses to attack you, every once in a while he will stop attacking and only be walking for a few seconds, that's when he is re-charging his stamina and is also your chance to cause devastating attacks and combos on him, BE CAREFUL WHOEVER, because in PHASE 2 (When he says "WEAK") he has infinite stamina causing him to launch attacks consecutively and requiring even more knowledge of when to parry and when to dodge, and also his MELEE ATTACKS stop being parriable, making you rely on parrying his projectiles - Don't stay in the AIR for too long, because if you spend too long there Minos will attempt to unleash a combo on you, ALSO one of his attacks attempt to launch you in the air EXACTLY for that purpose, when in the air try to ground pound to go back to the floor - Don't over-use your dashes, sometimes you might run out of stamina and need to dash when it is most needed, try to discover what can be dodged with a good slide in the right direction - Minos sometimes mixes attacks, be careful when does that - So a short summary, Minos' fight is all about learning his attacks and learning how to parry when possible, it's not just random craziness for the sake of it, there's a pattern and learning it is the KEY
Some tips if you do try the insanity that is p-ranking Minos: - you can take a shortcut to the door by dash-jumping somewhere like 45° to the right from the entrance, it's also helpful to check how close you are with the hook(yes it does extend the torch) and occasionally cancelling your momentum by dashing - a core eject(blue shotgun grenade) shot by the malicious railcannon produces the biggest explosion possible, and conveniently it can immediately kill most of the eyes that flesh prison spawns - if you shoot a flashing coin, the shot is split in two, and usually they strike different enemies. this is very useful for getting rid of the same eyes - you may have noticed that Minos monologues a fair bit before the fight. this can be used to set up a trap, for example placing magnets with a bunch of circling saws and making Minos walk into them
to summarize this prime terminal without spoilers from the other terminals: Science dudes create machines (terminals) that can destroy a thing and use the energy generated from that to reconstruct that same thing atom by atom in another place, as a test they sent through a vinyl record from the surface to hell, it worked but due to reasons stated in the next terminal the project of mankind entering hell was cancelled so they never did anything with that technology (that record is as you noticed, the one that is playing every time you come near a terminal) the last line about singing implies the terminals are sentient, and have now as theyve been abandoned and devoid of original purpose developed a relationship with the surviving machines down in hell, all of the hell terminals communicate between one another, so basically the style system, rankings shop etc. is inside of the games own canon and not just a out of game thing the player can do for what reason are they doing this? find out next prime terminal :3
more tips: for ultrarichoshotting (shooting coints with other guns), you can increase the amount of style by shooting more coins, instead of dropping 4 coins: jump, if it helps, slam a few times so that your jumps have greater height as youre beginning to fall drop a coin directly below you hit the coin with the blue arm instantly afterwards drop another coin, and shoot it with electric railcannon (imo best to also drop the coin directly downwards and shooting, rather than dropping upwards) shooting railcannon with one coin gives 115 style, while doing this gives you 195 style, this is not taking into account the style multiplier when youre in the air, it might be even more than this shooting railcannon normally gives 68 style, it also *should* deal less damage this also works with the marksman itself, or other guns, but the values vary
its videos like these that make me feel better about my skill. its been about 4 months since ive gone through some upheaval in life and i no longer have computer access. worried ive been getting rusty at this game- and i most definitely have- but oh man seeing your reaction times to parrying minos is making me feel like im seeing things in quicksilver mode lmfao
Congratulations! You have officially beaten the 2nd Hardest challenge the game currently has to offer... P2 is quite hard, and P3 is not here yet, but will most likely gonna make people go bald... I assume there will be a new secret boss after all Prime Sanctums are beaten... That would be fun... I feel like you'd enjoy Elden Ring for some reason... I dunno
It's amazing to see how Merg slowly getting better, and the more attempts he made, the better he is. I can't even beat violent for few months and you destroy P-1, great job Merg :D
LET’S GOOOOOOO- Wait I missed two videos before this. Be right back. I have returned. Anyways, this is fun to see the progress of how Merg improved! Oh yeah, to properly core Nuke you need to shoot the core eject with the red rail cannon which can kill all the eyes. Meanwhile, the more coins you add to the blue rail cannon, the more damage you do. However, you can exploit the piercing power of the blue rail cannon by throwing the coins behind then shooting the coins behind the boss and hit them twice + the coin damage addition
By the way, I noticed you trying to dodge the blue projectiles shot by the mindflayers and the prison and never parrying them. To clarify, it's not the *blue-colored* attacks that are unparriable, it's the attacks that have a *blue flash* come before them. The blue flash also has a distinct sound effect different from the yellow flash. The blue projectiles can be parried just like the red ones, which is important considering there's a lot more mindflayers to come.
You did WAAYYYY better than me. It took me like an hour to get past Flesh Prison. Tip for P Ranking Act 2: Don't be afraid to P Rank the easier levels first, trust me, it took me days to do 4-2.
You should make a video were you go on the sandbox and just test suggestions left on the comments like: Punching a coin; Shooting the blue shotgun's core eject with the red railgun; Shooting someone that's in the air with the rocket launcher; Using the blue nailgun/sawgun's magnets on an enemy and shooting a rocket close to them; Other stuff that people might leave comments about.
Merg a good way of killing the eyes are coins or a nuke witch is preformed by firing a core eject and using the malicious face canon on the core eject PS: you should dash more it really helps in the minos PRIME boss fight
A healthy serving of *J U D G E M E N T* I'm impressed, Merg! You killed the flesh prison in your first 10 minutes! And on Violent! My first difficulty was Lenient and I took about the same... In a much lower difficulty. That's the cherry diff. A fun thing about this fight is that while very unforgiving it's very consistent, at least Minos is, so it's very enjoyable even when you master it. Now, be prepared, because Act II P-ranks is where the game really starts kicking in the shins. Some levels are easy, but for the most part the style requirements are high, and the times are tight. I took more real time to P-rank 6-1 than to P-rank P-1. At any rate, congratulations, Merg! You killed Minos as a corpse, and then as a soul! I guess you can say that's an... ULTRAKILL?
I think this really shows what was the worst part about that one sans fight: it had no respect for your time. A death in this means you can be back in the fight in seconds, and back at the point you were at within a minute. Even ignoring just that it means you're trying again quicker, it just means you're not left with long stretches of time where your mind can mellow on it's annoyance.
Fun fact, tip of the day depends on the level. If you play two different levels, the tips wi,, be different. But, if you play the same level twice, you’ll get the same tip. It’s a warning.
as others have stated, keep in mind that dashing gives you invincibility frames. im not sure you noticed, but judgement always hit you even when parried, and that is by design, judgement is IMPOSSIBLE to dodge without the dash i-frames
Now that you've defeated Minos Prime, KEEP EM COMING and p-rank act two, someone *similar yet even stronger* than minos is having THE WAIT OF THE WORLD for you to arrive.
Minos Prime often says “Die!”. This is a subtle nod to the fact that he will kill you. This reference is best observed on Violence Difficulty.
its violent
he will ULTRAKILL you
Now best observed on Brutal Difficulty.
Soon to be observed on “ULTRAKILL must die” difficulty

@@Markkbonk i know but the mal-rail+core eject is the most optimal way (to my knowledge at least) to execute the eye's, so him not using it and still taking only, like, 7-10 minute's to kill off the prison is in my opinion quite impressive.

I wonder if anyone noticed the similarity in the structure of order, hopes and dreams?
requiem plays in 2-2, not 2-1

If you intend to P rank P-1 there's a few tricks you should know:
1: Core nuke (core eject shot with a malicious railcannon) is one of the best ways to kill most of the eyes, if done perfectly you can sometimes kill all of them in one go.
I don't think Minos is villain :o
He's just the King Of Lust, that wanted good for his people
He's a man of justice, so ofc he would try to avenge people V1 killed :p

Attacks like judgement can only be dodged with a dash since you get brief i-frames while dashing, parrying the attack doesn't negate the damage hitbox and is only there to offer extra damage and a heal, but you definitely have the right idea by constantly sliding.
Also, parrying fully restores your stamina, which is something you NEED to keep in mind going forward.

If you're wondering how to differentiate parriable attacks more easily, the ones you can't parry have a special squeaky sound, you can easily hear it from street cleaners (flame thrower guys)
the blue and yellow flash is easier to notice
@@TheCommanderTDSreal in close range attacks yeah, but attacks that are hard to see like crush or die it's easier to hear the parry sound

Fun fact:
When minos says "WEAK" and "USELESS" he is actually referring to himself, saying he is weak and useless for letting his people be slaughtered and not being able to stop it.
Soul Survivor P-rank tips :)
Flesh Prison:
- Remember the nuke? This is the best way to open the fight. Wait until all the eyes and mini Maurices spawn and the throw a nuke close to the center of FP, that'll do big damage AND kill most (if not all) the eyes and mini Maurices. After that, you can whiplash FP and get the DPS going
- The sawblade is really good here!
Minos Prime:
- Learn his voicelines and what attack is following each.

Also it's awesome to watch you get better and better as the vid goes on, you have come a long way and beating this level was an incredibly impressive mark on this series!
==========
*(FLESH PRISON TIPS)*
- Take breaks in-between attempts to rest and think more clearly, this is VERY important.
- The moment Flesh Prison spawns those eyes it is a pretty good idea to NUKE the center of Flesh Prison to then get most of the eyes killed immediatelly, and to NUKE you need to shoot a core eject torwards Flesh Prison and shoot the core eject with the MALICIOUS RAILCANNON (the red one), that will cause a huge explosion and deal with a lot of the eyes and sometimes maybe kill ALL of them at once
- In-case your Railcannon is still charging and FP is spawning more eyes, a good way to deal with the eyes quickly is to use the coins from the Green Revolver, did you know a coin can richochet into two enemies at once? If you shoot the coin in the correct timing the shot will split and hit two enemies at once dealing critical damage to both and insta-killing the eyes. SO with 4 coins you can effectivelly get ride of 8 EYES in quick succession and deal with the rest in whatever way you want, getting the timing of the coins right is a little bit tricky so I highly recommend learning the timing in sandbox mode, once you learn the timing it can be pretty much ONLY muscle memory when it comes to hitting the timing
-If FP's virtue beams are launching you into the air making it more difficult to dodge the next one, make sure to ground pound to reach the floor faster and flee from the reach of the explosion of the virtue beam (IMPORTANT, the higher you are on the air, IF YOU HOLD THE GROUND POUND BUTTON EVEN AFTER REACHING THE FLOOR YOU WILL SLIDE AT A GREATER SPEED BECAUSE THE HEIGHT YOU FEEL FROM TRANSLATED INTO MOMENTUM, HOPEFULLY I EXPLAINED THIS WELL)
- You know the trick to keep switching shotguns to keep firing them rapidly, that deals a lot of DPS against a HUGE target like Flesh Prison
- If you deal damage to Flesh Prison the moment it will start healing will arrive faster (The green bar shows how long until FP starts to heal) so when the eyes have spawned avoid damaging FP to give you more time to kill the eyes
==========
*(MINOS PRIME TIPS)*
- Take breaks in-between attempts to rest and think more clearly, this is VERY important.
- Minos Prime's voice lines are important, they dictate which attack he will use next, basically the name of the attack, pay close to attention to them, and also pay attention to his attacks to see when there is a window for parrying, ALMOST ALL OF HIS ATTACKS HAVE A PARRYING WINDOW, and that window is ESSENTIAL for dealing with this fight efficiently, since PARRIES HEAL YOU AND RECHARGE YOUR STAMINA FULLY FOR MORE DASHES WHILE AS WELL INTERRUPTING MINOS'S ATTACKS, Always pay attention to the yellow flashes in attacks
(also both of his melee attacks are parriable, in the punching one you already know to parry the last punch, AND in the kicking one he shoots a snake at you at the end, so parry that back into him)
- Minos attacks might look chaotic AT FIRST, but once you learn how his attacks work he becomes a lot more predictable, and his fight is way less chaotic than FP's fight
- THE WAY MINOS WORKS IN THIS FIGHT IS DEPENDANT ON *HIS OWN STAMINA*, yes Minos has his own stamina bar that he uses to attack you, every once in a while he will stop attacking and only be walking for a few seconds, that's when he is re-charging his stamina and is also your chance to cause devastating attacks and combos on him, BE CAREFUL WHOEVER, because in PHASE 2 (When he says "WEAK") he has infinite stamina causing him to launch attacks consecutively and requiring even more knowledge of when to parry and when to dodge, and also his MELEE ATTACKS stop being parriable, making you rely on parrying his projectiles
- Don't stay in the AIR for too long, because if you spend too long there Minos will attempt to unleash a combo on you, ALSO one of his attacks attempt to launch you in the air EXACTLY for that purpose, when in the air try to ground pound to go back to the floor
- Don't over-use your dashes, sometimes you might run out of stamina and need to dash when it is most needed, try to discover what can be dodged with a good slide in the right direction
- Minos sometimes mixes attacks, be careful when does that
- So a short summary, Minos' fight is all about learning his attacks and learning how to parry when possible, it's not just random craziness for the sake of it, there's a pattern and learning it is the KEY
P-1
The hardest level in the game! Congrats on beating it!
Nah, I'm just joking, it gets much worse so prepare yourself and GL.
Some tips if you do try the insanity that is p-ranking Minos:
- you can take a shortcut to the door by dash-jumping somewhere like 45° to the right from the entrance, it's also helpful to check how close you are with the hook(yes it does extend the torch) and occasionally cancelling your momentum by dashing
- a core eject(blue shotgun grenade) shot by the malicious railcannon produces the biggest explosion possible, and conveniently it can immediately kill most of the eyes that flesh prison spawns
- if you shoot a flashing coin, the shot is split in two, and usually they strike different enemies. this is very useful for getting rid of the same eyes
- you may have noticed that Minos monologues a fair bit before the fight. this can be used to set up a trap, for example placing magnets with a bunch of circling saws and making Minos walk into them
This game seems to be total chaos
@NumberOneRated1997 yo yop
what can we ask more than for you to KEEP EM COMING
Finally gentelman...
*THY END IS NOW*
Congratulations on coming up this far Merg, keep up the good content
Thank you!!
" You aren't the real minos, I already killed the corpses, you're a fake. You're a little icicle!" Got me rolling 17:19
"bro is doing a letsplay. constant commentary"
FUNNIEST CRAP I'VE EVER HEARD FROM SOMEONE IN THE MIDDLE OF FIGHTING MINOS PRIME
to summarize this prime terminal without spoilers from the other terminals:
Science dudes create machines (terminals) that can destroy a thing and use the energy generated from that to reconstruct that same thing atom by atom in another place, as a test they sent through a vinyl record from the surface to hell, it worked but due to reasons stated in the next terminal the project of mankind entering hell was cancelled so they never did anything with that technology (that record is as you noticed, the one that is playing every time you come near a terminal)
the last line about singing implies the terminals are sentient, and have now as theyve been abandoned and devoid of original purpose developed a relationship with the surviving machines down in hell, all of the hell terminals communicate between one another, so basically the style system, rankings shop etc. is inside of the games own canon and not just a out of game thing the player can do
for what reason are they doing this?
find out next prime terminal :3
You know a boss is hard when it turns you into mario 14:33
i clicked and got mario ad
more tips:
for ultrarichoshotting (shooting coints with other guns), you can increase the amount of style by shooting more coins, instead of dropping 4 coins:
jump, if it helps, slam a few times so that your jumps have greater height
as youre beginning to fall drop a coin directly below you
hit the coin with the blue arm
instantly afterwards drop another coin, and shoot it with electric railcannon (imo best to also drop the coin directly downwards and shooting, rather than dropping upwards)
shooting railcannon with one coin gives 115 style, while doing this gives you 195 style, this is not taking into account the style multiplier when youre in the air, it might be even more than this
shooting railcannon normally gives 68 style, it also *should* deal less damage
this also works with the marksman itself, or other guns, but the values vary
its videos like these that make me feel better about my skill. its been about 4 months since ive gone through some upheaval in life and i no longer have computer access. worried ive been getting rusty at this game- and i most definitely have- but oh man seeing your reaction times to parrying minos is making me feel like im seeing things in quicksilver mode lmfao
this is exactly what i've been waiting for, this is EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! love ur vids man
Congratulations!
I dunno
The first time i tried beating something called P3 it took me 3 months, now im glad i dont play ultrakill
36:24
merg: what are you doing brother???????
minos prime: judgement!
Just remember, it’s easier to P-Rank this then it is to even complete the next Prime Sanctum.
It's amazing to see how Merg slowly getting better, and the more attempts he made, the better he is. I can't even beat violent for few months and you destroy P-1, great job Merg :D
this is a true hip hip hurrah moment
now its time to get into the p-ranking hell of the prime sanctums 👽
I think he did parry them against druid Knight
52:01 That little voice that you do is absolutely hilarious
You did WAAYYYY better than me.
It took me like an hour to get past Flesh Prison.
Tip for P Ranking Act 2:
Don't be afraid to P Rank the easier levels first, trust me, it took me days to do 4-2.
4-2 is the 1-3 of act 2
god awful
You should make a video were you go on the sandbox and just test suggestions left on the comments like:
Punching a coin;
Shooting the blue shotgun's core eject with the red railgun;
Shooting someone that's in the air with the rocket launcher;
Using the blue nailgun/sawgun's magnets on an enemy and shooting a rocket close to them;
Other stuff that people might leave comments about.
Also I would love a video of the cybergrind
Merg a good way of killing the eyes are coins or a nuke witch is preformed by firing a core eject and using the malicious face canon on the core eject
PS: you should dash more it really helps in the minos PRIME boss fight
A healthy serving of
*J U D G E M E N T*
I'm impressed, Merg!
ULTRAKILL?
ALL OF US WAITED FOR THIS
You could say it was "The Wait Of The World".
11:52 PREPARE THYSELF! *doesn't prepare and dies*
I hope Merg is ready for P-Ranking Act 2.
Also, he should check the Hall of Shame after beating P-2. (If he even does.)
Hall of shame?
@@sleeper6548its the credit thing but hakita turn it into a museum for uh idk fun ?
@@TheCommanderTDSreal oh thaaat, i remember, its called hall of shame? i didn't noticed
@@sleeper6548 thats the credits museum
Holy crap it has been so long since I have seen one of your videos. So happy to see you are still making content!
0:17 the what now?
This was one of the only reasons i started to watch this playthrough, and now, finally, he does it. thank you
holy crap PEPSI MAN
Fun fact, tip of the day depends on the level. If you play two different levels, the tips wi,, be different. But, if you play the same level twice, you’ll get the same tip.
It’s a warning.
found this so fast bro
as others have stated, keep in mind that dashing gives you invincibility frames. im not sure you noticed, but judgement always hit you even when parried, and that is by design, judgement is IMPOSSIBLE to dodge without the dash i-frames
oh god can't wait when merg no hits this
Now that you've defeated Minos Prime, KEEP EM COMING and p-rank act two, someone *similar yet even stronger* than minos is having THE WAIT OF THE WORLD for you to arrive.
and that simillar guy can make THIS WILL HURT
ultrakill fans try to not spoil everything challenge (impossible)
‘Reward’, huh?
13:25 “H-hey man! We can team up-“
“DIE”
