That’s how I was on my snare line in high school was a freshman coming to a snare line full of all juniors and seniors. The high school band director told my mom he would never let a 9th grader on his line they wouldn’t be able to keep up. Band camp came I was caught playing a cadence an upper class man couldn’t learn was told to strap up. Sophomore year after the two seniors left guess who was #1/kickoff man and got the section. District honor band, Parish honor band, and All state. And finished with a Full Scholarship to Grambling State P1.

Legit after my high school years I came back as an instructor for a year. Removed Jig 2 from the cadences because my god I got tired of hearing and playing the cadence hahahaha
I don’t really judge any school using the cadence because for one simple reason. It’s bloody easy XD unless you add the splits and snare(s) solo it’s a good and overly used cadence for beginners to intermediate.
Also the junior just giving up. SHAME!! I don’t care if you hit rims, you better get to the end of that solo and finish it properly!! RECOVER DAMNIT!!

@@PrimeBallard I always tell my students “if you’re going to play fast. You better not hit any rims or you’re not playing the solo again”

OMHS band fan here. “The colors of Oz” was my favorite show. I tell people here(Ohio), We have Prolly the best College Band in the land, but the best high school band’s from Alabama!
